The Swimming Pig
Our favorite restaurant at the Grand Hyatt Baha Mar. Extensive drink menu for the adults and the kids say the chicken tenders here are better than at the other restaurants.
Ridiculously overpriced! Service was good and people were very friendly, but it was just way too expensive for pub food.
Typical American processed food, namely unhealthy fried protein, with lots of fat, salt, sugar, spices, cholesterol, and alcohol. Forget about fruit, legumes, and vegetable. You can easily get a stroke or develop any kind of heart diseases at 35 or 40. Amen
Excellent service. Excellent food presentation and taste. Wide variety on menu.
Terrible service. Flies. Food not good
Heavy with small children
Solid not spectacular menu
Bartenders add fun to the place
There is a reason it is the only place available for reservations. Just horrid!
It took us 2 hours to get our dinner served. There must have been a problem in the kitchen. Other tables were just leaving due to such poor service. Once our food arrived, it was actually good. But our overall experience was very bad. We had to beg for bread. The right thing to do would've been to comp a round of drinks or an entree or two.
Good food but I cannot believe how we were treated. Had a table booked with a 2 year kid. We got food after more than an hour. Kid felt asleep on the table by that time. We didn’t get what we ordered either. Whatever arrived was tasty but experience was way below any expectations. Sad, very sad... whoever is cooking, congrats, whoever manages the rest, complete disaster!
Overpriced and mediocre food/service. Our entrees took too long to arrive and were cold. Check out the food trucks for better pub food.
Everything was awesome! From the hostess that fixed the mistake I made from a 2 top to a 4 top, to our server Andrew ! He was very vigilant & helpful. We will return!
Wow! We were thinking this would be another overpriced bad service Baha Mar restaurant but we were pleasantly surprised! Amazing food and the service was quick and friendly. Highly recommend this place!
I liked it but it’s expensive for the type of food. I realize the Bahamas are expensive.
Had a great time. Took our two kids (age 12 and 9). Would go back!
Loud, and lacking in any sort of atmosphere, definitely not a place to head out for supper, really a pub for drinks or a bite after you have been out all evening!
Food was great! It was very busy, so it was loud and a little cramped, but I loved the design and decor of the restaurant. The food and service was amazing, I would definitely go back when in Nassau!
Amazing food and friendly staff.
It was so loud, that we turned right around and left. Had planned to have a nice meal to celebrate my wife’s birthday. We couldn’t even hear each other trying to have a conversation.
Was a fun place! Went back the next day to watch the playoffs!
How bad could service be. Took 3 times ordering a Guinness to get it. Never did get the kids orange juice. 35 mins for kids food to come out was not acceptable. Steak was excellent though.
Although we ordered appetizers and small plates for our meal, the kitchen took forever to get the food out. No fault of the server.
We went to The Swimming Pig for some pub food. We were seated and the waiter took our drink and appetizer order. About 10 minutes later our calamari arrived. It was quite good but our beer was still missing. 5 minutes later 2 of our 3 beers arrived. We ordered large beers and were surprised to see the glasses were only 10 ounces. The last beer finally came followed shortly by the food - burgers. The burgers were quite good. We ordered another round of beer which again took about 10 minutes to come and again had one missing. Very poor service as the place was only 1/4 full. The kicker was the bill for 6 small beers, an order of calamari and 3 burgers was $189!
The only issue was the nachos were served cold!! Other that that is is a good place to eat!!!!
excellent restaurant, great variety of food selections, very friendly staff, had 2 dinners at this restaurant, not over priced
Our waiter has major issues. we could not get our water glasses refilled oy save our lives. Then he took our orders, never wrote anything down, and then someone had to come back and take them all again. I hope that he was just in training or something but I nothing was said if he was
Excellent food, a little pricey, but this IS a vacation destination. Very loud. Would go back again despite price and noise. Food was worth it. I had the bison burger, wife had Bahamian snapper. Both were way above expectations.
New Year’s Eve reservation. Staff was not friendly and ignored us after we checked for over 30 minutes. A really bad experience. Much better places at resort. Would never recommend someone go through same experience.
Food quality poor. Service was terrible.
Extremely poor check in- host never looked up, told us to wait for our table... never to return for us. After 30 min, we asked to be seated and were met with blank stares. We had to show them 3 empty tables for 2 that they were not willing to give us, preferring to keep them available for making a table of 6, if needed. After finally convincing them to do this, we got no apology and no service. After waiting 15 min for someone to acknowledge us or even bring us water, which never happened, we left.
Very hit or miss! Some of our choices were great (truffle fries, calamari, lobster quesadilla) and some weren’t (conch sandwich should have been hotter, chicken sandwich was pretty mediocre). Unfortunately the service wasn’t on point. It took a while to get seated even with reservations, and when they sat us (party of 6) we were sat with 3 menus but 8 sets of silverware. Everyone seemed really confused about how many of us there were. Apps came out super fast but entrees took forever, and one of the entrees didn’t come out until everyone else was finished eating. The entree that took the longest was a kids Mac n cheese and the explanation was that the chef didn’t like how it looked?? I would return but maybe order differently.
My 48.00 dollar filet was over cooked. Food was just okay. Nothing special.
Helpful staff. We love the mushroom pizza. They are so busy and really do a good job to make everyone happy. Great for casual fun dinner. We always come back!
Food was not good, service was worse.
The swimming pig was ok. Our least favorite meal while staying at the Baha Mar resort. Not a very big selection. Great if you want beer on tap. Casual restaurant. Service was good.
Son had sandwich which was great. Other three of the group had full entrees in which the roast beef and turkey was tough and not very warm. It was Christmas, so they seem understaffed. Waitress was really hussling.
I have been here 6 times and plan to be back many more times in my 9 day stay at the resort! The food has been on point every time I’ve been here. Wine is tasty and well priced compared to the typical resort prices. The pesto pizza is to die for- kids chicken tenders are delicious... chicken curry yum- anything chicken related is amazing and very well cooked! So far I can’t go wrong- enjoy- it’s a must try
This was our first night stay at Baha Mar, we wanted something casual and a place to watch the game. The service was awful- we did not get anyone to our table for st least 15 minutes and then our drinks did not come out until our appetizers. When time for food our child’s meal never arrived and even after telling another server it took another 10 minutes- it was clearly forgotten. Food was ok- but service is terrible, my husband and son stayed after dinner to watch the game at the bar and could barely get served- they left after 1 drink. I have never wrote a bad review- this is my exception especially for how pricey it can be and the included gratuity which I think does not help because servers know they don’t have to go over and above because they are already getting 15%
Nice for casual bar atmosphere dining. Service was great, they got my order wrong but fixed it asap. Food was average.
