   The Sweet Life Cafe is a wonderful spot for a special dinner! The service is impeccable and the setting is elegant. We had a small corner table on the upper patio area and it was delightful. Our sweet potato shared appetizer was an interesting combination of fresh ingredients as well as tastes and textures. My monkfish entree was cooked to perfection and the accompanying sauce and fingerling potatoes were wonderful. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our dinners but both agree that the food needs a tad more seasoning to really shine. We will return!

   Great meal. I had the Scallops and they were absolutely delicious. I started with the Morning Glory Greens which were fresh and a great way to begin. I ended with a 2 scoop bowl of vanilla gelato which was a perfect way to conclude this amazing meal.

   venue and service very good to excellent, but food was a total disappointment for both of us (we had separate entrees. Even the salad was disappointing--if one is usually asked whether they want anchovies on their pizza, isn't it logical to ask if they want them on taste-delicate lettuce? They didn't ask and the salad almost reeked of them. The meal was very expensive. The wine list is excellent.

   Some dishes, such as the perfectly cooked scallops and sea bass, were excellent; others, which attracted me because they were imaginative, were just plain weird. For example, a first course of mushroom panna cotta sounded interesting, but instead of the savory dish I expected I got a generous helpng of well cooked mushrooms heaped on a panna cotta that was sweet and did not taste like mushrooms. The gnocchi in my main course was leaden.

   The big surprise was the kale salad! We didn't read carefully enough and apparently we were warned by the waitress but the black kale was dressed with squid ink. We noticed our mouths were turning black as were our napkins. Choose it if you like squid ink...it tasted fine. We found the menu a bit overly sophisticated with highly unusual additions to almost every dish. If you're adventurous go for it..the outdoor dining is really lovely.

   The atmosphere was great and the service was very good. Our waitress was very nice. Those are about the only redeeming qualities. Went with a party of 5 and few of the dishes were what was described or expected. The beef tartare was the absolute worst. It was huge chunks of very chewy beef. Beef tartare should be very small very tender cuts of beef and this was not the case. The kale Cesar was not terrible but contained squid ink, which is something that definitely should be included in an item description as it turns your entire mouth black. Definitely not a first date food. The ribeye was actually a filet and a terribly poor quality one at that. The best part about this is that the food runner actually dropped it off and said "the ribeye" like if he said it to us maybe it would be true. The pasta special was ok but was $38 for about 8-10 tortellini. We were really hoping that dessert would be the game changer and that we would get a good course but it disappointed as well. The chocolate cake appeared to be store bought and not of great quality. The passion fruit tart was gritty and also unimpressive. For a restaurant that operates at the same price point as Red Cat Kitchen I would say go there instead and get a meal worth the money.

   The new owners of this restaurant have elevated the food exponentially, and it has always been very good. Loved the Black Caesar Salad, Stuffed Squid, Grilled Ribeye, Duck, Pork Chop. Dessert was fantastic too. One of the best restaurants on the Island.

   I got engaged here. It was beautiful. Had the six course special with wine pairing. Gave us free champagne. Everyone clapped. It was amazing

    Sweet Life Cafe is a charming place for dinner, especially the outdoor terrace which has sparkling lights and heat lamps , needed. It is quiet, romantic, and serves excellent food. Waitstaff is friendly and helpful.
