The Sur House, at Ventana Big Sur, serves cuisine in an awe-inspiring setting. The restaurant’s warm, rustic interior opens onto its legendary terrace where panoramic views of the ocean and rugged Big Sur coastline stretch for more than 50 miles. The cuisine makes use of the abundance of California’s Central Coast with local, simple, sustainable ingredients, including items from Ventana’s own organic garden.

Non-Resort Guests can enjoy our a la carte menu at this location for brunch and dinner service. Reservations are not required, but highly suggested.

We welcome dogs on the outside terraces at the Sur House patio during breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Only certified service animals (dogs) are allowed inside The Sur House for dining.

A 22% Service charge will be added to all checks for parties over 6.

    Brunch menu on a Tuesday at 1pm makes no sense. The menu choices were not up to the standards of the restaurant. The frittata (flat omelette) was $27.00! The ingredients were not great. What a disappointment.. The sorbet was very odd…salt, olive oil and many other ingredients. Awful taste

    Very disappointing that the outdoor terrace was not in use. We were told it was too windy but when other customers arrived with a dog they were accommodated outdoors on the terrace so difficult to understand why we could not sit outdoors. I suspect management could not be bothered. The menu had also changed since we booked and it provided a limited range of options - none of which were particularly appetising.

    I love this restaurant. I was afraid to go thinking I would not fit in since it was located in such a high end hotel, but the staff were friendly and food prices were reasonable, and the diners dressed casually. The food presentation was excellent. The views are phenomenal!

    The Sur House is our favorite restaurant in the world, we got engaged here and we’ve been back many times and always have the yummiest meal with fresh ingredients and truly memorable service. They really take care of their guests and it shows. We’ll be back over and over again. Thank you Sur House!
