The restaurant wasn't that busy. Service was happening all around us. It felt like the table we sat at was forgotten. 20 minutes to get our drinks, 40 minutes to get our salads.

Apparently you can only reserve outdoor tables on this app? Which is confusing because it doesn’t specify that it only says “standard” seating which you would assume is indoors. It was too cold to sit outside. Luckily I was able to snag seats at the bar- which honestly had a better view of the sunset than the parking lot they tried to seat us in

Everyone was great but the valet deserves extra kudos, he was so kind he met my elderly mom and the front door, walked her all the way to the car. He was so sweet, he made the whole evening extra special. Food and service was great.

We enjoyed such a beautiful view & a delicious meal at The Sunset! The restaurant is spacious, with seating along open windows with gorgeous beach & Mountain Views. The service was excellent. I loved the lobster and shrimp tacos, and sweet potato fries.The Bloody Mary was excellent. And, they surprised me with a yummy dessert for my birthday! I highly recommend The Sunset!

Wonderful restaurant with great service, great ambience and would return and recommend. Not enough parking - had to pay for public beach lot and walk .25 miles. Dinner was moderately priced as expected but several of items were cooked well but not well seasoned and were bland. The exception was the Brussel sprouts which were delicious as was the flourless chocolate cake.

Had a fabulous dinner at The Sunset. So lovely sitting outside with a great view of the beach. Food was great. I had the whole branzino which was moist and delicious, with added bonus that they deboned it tableside. My husband had the Wagyu burger with truffle fries. He’s still taking about the truffle fries the next day. Have to admit I had a couple of his fries and they were yummy. Topped it off with Tortino flourless chocolate cake for dessert which was rich and yummy. Will definitely return for a future meal when I’m in Malibu again.

I've been here a number of times. For whatever reason, this time the food was very so so. Portions seemed smaller and the food just wasn't quite as good. The service was okay, but a little slow, even though it didn't seem like the place was on overload. I was disappointed this trip. But I've had other times where everything was wonderful, so I'll give it another try. Maybe just an off night.

Have been a frequent guest at the sunset and usually really enjoy it. The location is obviously fabulous. Yesterday I was taking my sister who is handicapped for a special lunch and had asked to be outside with the ocean view In my reservation request. When I arrived the hostess Lmk the side patio off the smaller dining room was closed and there were no window tables available. We got a table in the larger dining room that was not by the window. I told her I’d requested outside with ocean view but she didn’t seem concerned. Just gave me the standard’s ‘ we try but can’t guarantee tables’. Esp since my sis had to have her caregiver drive fir an he and a half I’d hoped for more accommodation. Seemed if they didn’t save a window table for us they could have at least opened up the side patio.

Beautiful location along Zuma Beach. We sat outside on a beautiful evening and were able to witness a fabulous sunset, which was clearly a bonus! All the food was beautifully prepared and tasty, and really complemented the ambiance. Great casual place for food that is all but casual and ordinary.

Really enjoyed the afternoon sitting upstairs for lunch. Beautiful view of Malibu beach. The Lobster Tacos were very good. I would get them again. The Ahi Tar Tar was excellent as well. Planning my next trip back.
