The Sundorbon was originally conceived in 1988. Since then, it has become a favourite amongst the locals known as a staple of Indian and Bangladeshi cuisine. Serving the neighbourhood with sit-down dining, takeaway, and delivery service in Bridport. The restaurant has always been a family-run business, with the two sons of the owner, Mashayel and Thufayel, proudly taking over the ownership in 2019.
The sons who grew up in Bridport moved to London post-university, and have gained a lot of insight into authentic Indian dining. Whilst travelling across Asia, they were most interested in India, where they had learned more about authentic Indian flavours and bolstered their passion for food, Indian cuisine in particular. In The Sundorbon, they have established a fantastic and talented team, a modern authentic dining venue, and they have created and displayed exceptional takeaway and delivery service.

    Great Indian restaurant with lovely food particularly for vegetarians. They were incredibly busy so we had to wait a while for the food, although when it arrived it was superb. The front of house team were fantastic. A very large group arrived (circa 20) as we left so we were thankful we were in before. Just shows how popular it is.

    Allowed us to bring forward to an earlier booking at short notice and overall service experienced was excellent. Very attentive and friendly staff coupled by efficient service. The curry was delicious (lamb danzak especially) and very well seasoned with fresh herbs and spices. Good selection of drinks available for beer and gin lovers.
