Birthday dinner! Was absolutely fabulous as always.

Haven't been to the Student Prince in quite a while and wanted to give it a try. We used to love this time of year - fiddleheads season. Unfortunately, the waitress had no idea what fiddleheads were. Food was good, not great, and portions didn't fill the plate but were decent Service was really great. Would we go back? Probably not.

Food was exceptional except for the softshell crab special...think they were a little more mature and not so soft anymore. We had a party of 7, our table ordered shnitzel, a tenderloin medallions w/mushrooms and onions, prime rib, fish and chips which was out of this world EXCELLENT! The service was also EXCEPTIONAL. We were in the dining room with the piano being played and while that was really nice, I have to say that it was a bit loud. Would suggest if possible to bring down the volume a bit.

Very happy with our dinner. The soft shell crab was excellent. Roquefort dressing outstanding. Service and ambiance very pleasant. Nice to be dining out again and The Student Prince did not disappoint.

Very much enjoyed ourselves, as we have for 60 years. It is terrible what Covid 19 did to the lunch trade. Our lunch and service was excellent. Must do it again. L Bach

Had the Jager Schnitzel and it was great. Gravy and mushrooms were amazing. Beer on tap is awesome too. Had a large hot pretzel as the appetizer, and the two types of mustard were really good. Our server was friendly and helpful throughout our dining experience.

We had a great time. The food and service were excellent and the live piano music was awesome!

I was excited to eat here based on other reviews. However, my meatloaf was incredibly tough, the fried potatoes were cold, and the bread the server brought was stale af. The only thing cooked to perfection was the spaetzle....overall, definitely not worth the price.

This an excellent and fun restaurant for an affordable dinner. They have valet parking which made it easy to go in without the hassles of city parking. Many German and dimes beers on tap. We had 32 oz boots. Dinner - meatloaf and the wurst platter were delicious and filling. The waitress was friendly, helpful and friendly. An excellent and fun experience.

We needed a nice meal at a nice place and we missed the Student Prince over the past year. The brunch was incredible and Patrick, our server, was the best. Very attentive, even though he was terribly busy. We’re requesting his section next time.

Always a great experience at the student prince. Never a disappointment. A great place & awesome food.

My wife and I took her mother there for her birthday. The food was excellent. Service was a little slow which was surprising since it was not very busy.

I've dined at the Student Prince many times. Always received great service, enjoyed incredible food and love the atmosphere. This last time (Saturday 3/6/2021), we were seated in a booth in the bar area (have been seated there many times in the past), there was an awful cold waft of air blowing down on our table. We mentioned it to our server...but he didn't offer anything to solve the issue. I dined in my coat with my husband's coat on my lap. Again, food was delicious and service otherwise was flawless.
It just wasn't the birthday experience I'd so looked forward to.

As usual excellent food. Can’t go wrong of you like eating German food. Service was excellent with a knowledgeable waitress. Every time I’m in Springfield for work I only eat dinner at Student Prince!

Always a pleasure to dine at The Fort. Despite changes in ownership over the course of the last 25 years, each owner has managed to maintain the ambience and quality of the food. Game menu remains a highlight of the year along with the selection of German and craft beers.

As expected, the service was outstanding and the quality of the game kabobs was in point. Servers attntive, but not overbearing and kitchen staff delivered a pergectly to order Black and blue on 3 different meats.

We frequently dine at The Fort, so this experience was disappointing. It is understandable that covid restrictions are difficult for running a brunch buffet. Unfortunately all food that we got from the buffet was cold. There was an omelette station where you could fill out tickets with your order, name, and server’s name. All omelettes came to our table with the wrong ingredients and very little of them. There were literally 2 pieces of pepper in my entire omelette. It would make more sense for the server to simply take an omelette order and have them made correctly in the kitchen. Our server was great but the food was definitely disappointing.

Good foo. Will go back especially for a Sunday brunch.

Every piece of our dining experience was fantastic! It was our first time dining at Student Prince and we can not wait to return. Everyone was super accommodating from the Valet, Hostess, Waiter and Bartender. Stellar food and awesome service!

Our server was wonderful drinks excellent but my Tenderloin goulash while very flavorful was tough to chew. My partner loved the Veal shank.

I have been going to The Student Prince for over 30 years. The food is authentic and delicious, the beer, great and the atmosphere perfect. I love it.

Great food as always. Rather quiet these days but a great experience nonetheless.
