The Strand Inn, Dunmore East is an wonderful restaurant specialising in fresh seafood and local produce with an enviable reputation both locally and nationally.

The restaurants use local ingredients as the basis for their menus. We have always been a big supporter of local farmers and specialise in locally reared beef and the freshest of locally caught seafood as well as seasonal vegetables and fruit. The Strand Inn wine cellar is extensive with wines from all round the world selected and laid down by Clifden Foyle.

We had a beautiful dinner for five in the conservatory at the Strand on Saturday night. We are reasonably regular diners at this venue and love the food, the views and the staff. We've had normal dinners, funeral meals and a christening here. The Strand is always lovely and the quality of the food has remained high over a very long period of time.

What a splendid place! The food and the setting were superb. The most important element, however, was the staff. They were absolutely excellent right from our greeting by the charming young man from Hungary (whose name I didn’t get). Of particular note was Jessica, our waitress, who was quite first class. Whatever you’re paying them - it’s not enough!

We went to the Strand for father's day. The food was excellent and well presented. The service was great and we had plenty of time to savour the food and enjoy the atmosphere. The restaurant and outdoor area were busy given it was Father's day and bright, sunny day but the staff were still attentive. If I had to be picky the same 4 or 5 songs played on a loop while we were there, they weren't bad songs just the repetitiveness wasn't ideal. Overall a great experience and we will most definitely be back.

Attractive restaurant which is part of a popular pub in Dunmore East. Friendly, welcoming and helpful staff. Good food especially the fish. Fairly expensive but what I would expect from somewhere of that standard and in that position.
