The Strand Bar & Grill Ratings and Reviews
Stopped in to grab a bite and glass of wine before a spa treatment and after a few classes. Needed a lite bite. Lamb Kofka was great and was able to just sit on my iPad and have a glass of wine. I'm a light water to that was plenty for me and when I realized the time they packed half of it to go with my glass of wine! Great value wonderful service. Why go to trouble of cooking when u can pop down for a quick bite or full meal. Breakfast is always great but have yet to try lunch menu but plan to.
I love the ambience of this place - especially the terrace with the sea view. Great wine list along with healthy food and delicious cocktails make this a restaurant for a relaxed dinner. The service was great, will definitely come back the next time I am in town.
What a great Hotel restaurant in this area! We never knew you could eat here as a local but we do now and you should too! Hurry up and get in the evening sun setting behind the hotel gives some of the best views of the ocean at an early dinner/happy hour time.
Live music Friday and Saturday evenings and Sunday brunch buffet with live music. The whole team was friendly and the chef even came over and chatted with us for alittle while.
We had The Taste L'Amore - Valentine's Dinner.
It was superb. The restaurant at the Carillon has a wonderful chef. He is the best kept
secret of Miami Beach. I don't know why ??????
The meal we had was as good as any fine meal we would have had in NY.
He also makes a mean hamburger.
Run don't walk for his special dinners.
The hotel is very nice and relaxing and so is the bar and restaurant. We were warmly welcomed in to the bar for pre dinner drinks which were great and efficiently served. Once into the restaurant we were informed of the specials by our friendly server, which all sounded wonderful. The food and wine were so good that I booked again for later in the week. Enough said really!
Food was very disappointing and I ended up eating very little. Shrimp were mealy. Stone Crabs tasteless.. Turkey and roast beef very dry. Sides were cold, tasteless or non existent.
Our waiter was lovely but waiting on too many tables.
All in all, a very disappointing Christmas brunch!
The staff here is terrific from the hostess to the servers. Our server Alberto is a gem, very professional with a great sense of humor and he made our meal that much more enjoyable. The room has a nice view to the ocean which is a great asset, tables close to the windows are popular. The Christmas day brunch was a nice offering but a bit expensive, brunch for 4 with tax and automatic 18% gratuity took the check close to $400.00, I enjoyed it but struggle to find the value.
We had a mixed review . I shared the lamb with my friend . I liked it, she thought it was dry . The other member of our party had the grouper and enjoyed it . We had three desserts. They were all different , meringue with fruit, chocolate dessert and thyme ice cream . The flavors were interesting . While it was a culinary experience , the ultimate test is will you go back . The answer is probably not .
We find the restaurant in transition. The prices have increased substantially, the food is
good but not worth the increase. If we want to spend $150.00 for dinner for two there are more interesting food choices.
Also the restaurant feels empty at dinner, only a few diners.
At lunch the space is busier.
If you're staying at the Carillon Hotel, it is convenient for breakfast or lunch. Dining outside is nice, but they don't have enough tables. Dining inside is cold and too formal when you're at the beach or the pool. Food is overpriced and they get orders wrong.
