The Stockyards Restaurant & 1889 Saloon
Step through the copper entry doors and feel the warm authentic atmosphere of this classic American Steakhouse. Once adjacent to the largest feedlot in the world, the restaurant is a living history museum that documents Arizona's cattle industry with historical photos and a Western Art collection. Established in 1947, The Stockyards has been serving the best hand-cut aged steaks and prime rib for 70 years. The menu also features wild game, seafood, poultry, pork, and a wide variety of appetizers, salads and desserts. Be sure to visit the 1889 Saloon where you will find a solid mahogany hand carved bar, crystal chandeliers, and walls adorned with original murals that were painted in the 50's. Step back in time and relax while you enjoy an Arizona landmark. Banquet space and private dining rooms are available, and The Stockyards is always an excellent choice for groups.

Food was mediocre at best. Extremely over priced for quality.
The steaks were done to perfection. The sides were delicious, also. Beautiful place to have a nice meal with my wife.

This was our first time going to the Stockyard. My husband ordered the 24 ounce bone in ribeye. This steak runs about $80 and did include a side and a salad which isn’t typical in some really nice steak places. We really were not sure what to expect here - it seems more of a casual steakhouse vs a nice steakhouse. No one was really dressed up. My husband‘s 24 ounce bone in ribeye was not very flavorful - it was a huge steak but it was also tough. I ordered the 8oz fillet and it was cooked nicely but a bit salty and not as tender as I would’ve expected. The bread pudding that we got for dessert I had a nice flavor but was cold in the middle for the most part and the pecan pie was just really very sugary and didn’t have very much flavor. It was average at best .There are much better steakhouses for the money.
In my opinion the quality and taste of the food was far from impressive. It really reminded me of a steak comparable to Outback or a Texas Roadhouse. There was no comparison to some of the great places that we often go to like Oceans 44, Steak 44, Bourbon and Bones - it was not on that level at all.
Don our waiter was attentive but not overbearing. He had a great sense of humor and made for a very enjoyable dinner.
The Stockyards has a great bar with a great selection of whiskeys and cocktails in general. The service was excellent, and the food was delicious. The ribeye was awesome! We will definitely be coming back soon!

So happy with my experience! I was looking for a traditional steakhouse, in terms of food and ambience. My server Dan was the perfect mix of hospitable and efficient.
I will 100% make a point of going back next time I'm in town and may try to fly through PHX more often just so I can :)
First time going to the Stockyards. Our daughter is visiting from Nashville and we had a blast. Great server, good food, feels like you have gone somewhere!

Ambiance and service is very good. That said, I'm not convinced the value is there. They say price complaints are really value complaints, and that's where I fall. The food is fine, but doesn't warrant the price. When prices come in around $100/person ex-alcohol, it should be memorable. This isn't.

Whether it is steak or seafood, best in the West! Prime rib is outstanding as well as the sea bass! Clam chowder on Friday is to die for!

There is a reason why The Stockyards will be celebrating its 75th anniversary this year: outstanding food coupled with outstanding service in an atmosphere conducive to a quiet lunch with a friend or a business meeting.
Excellent atmosphere but food was not up to par with our last visit inn2018.
Had a wonderful New Years Eve Dinner. My wife enjoyed the Bison Steak special while I had a perfectly prepared prime rib. Our waiter Eric was attentive but not overbearing. It was a perfect way to end 2021 and welcome in 2022.
I did not know what to expect at this restaurant but I found the decor rustic but the food quality and service top notch.

Have eaten here every year since 2012 and was a little disappointed. Bison steak not great, salmon ok and didn’t care for rice pilaf. Great service, cocktails and dessert and we’ll be back but not as good as past.
The food was mediocre at best, the hostesses are very rude, I had called asking if I could change the reservation and she adamantly told me if I’m not 10 mins early she was cancel my reservation, then I showed up and was seating where she progressed to call and leave an angry voicemail about how I’m not there, how she told me to be on time and if I’m not there in 4 mins she would cancel it. Aside from that the service was mediocre, the waitress never told us her name and was very distant, even though it wasn’t busy. Overall will not be returning, disappointed overall as it had such great reviews and the staff just left a sour taste in my mouth. This was my first visit to to the city and definitely gave me a poor impression, don’t waste your time or money here.
Restaurant was nice! Everything was fair but nothing too exceptional. Steaks didn’t have nearly any seasoning, garlic potatoes were lacking garlic, paid $12 for a side of vegetables only to get about 8 vegetables. Server was nice but not very personable, didn’t even get an introduction so we didn’t know his name. Just an underwhelming experience for us to spend a little over $200 for two people on.

Our server was very friendly and attentive. We did have two children with us: 2 years and one 3 months. The food was delicious. Of the table, it seems that it was the consensus that the Sea Bass was the best.

We had lunch at the Stockyards just before Christmas. Everything was great. The food (Prime Rib) was excellent and our server was very pleasant and aware of my wife's birthday and brought her a very nice brownie and ice cream for dessert. I highly recommend The Stockyards Restaurant for a nice enjoyable lunch anytime.
Wonderful as usual. The Christmas ambiance was outstanding. Looking forward to the next visit.
Annual Holiday dinner
I started dining here in the '70s but hadn't been back for about 12 years. So glad I came! Staff is very friendly and professional (Thanks Dan!!). Food quality and options are outstanding. It's terrific to have a place with such ambiance.

Cool place with really good food and great wait staff. It was absolutely packed. It is loud so if that isn’t your thing you might need another spot. Steaks and prime rib cooked to perfection. Husband said his prime rib was the most tender he’s every had. Great place.
