The Stockyards Restaurant & 1889 Saloon
Step through the copper entry doors and feel the warm authentic atmosphere of this classic American Steakhouse. Once adjacent to the largest feedlot in the world, the restaurant is a living history museum that documents Arizona's cattle industry with historical photos and a Western Art collection. Established in 1947, The Stockyards has been serving the best hand-cut aged steaks and prime rib for 70 years. The menu also features wild game, seafood, poultry, pork, and a wide variety of appetizers, salads and desserts. Be sure to visit the 1889 Saloon where you will find a solid mahogany hand carved bar, crystal chandeliers, and walls adorned with original murals that were painted in the 50's. Step back in time and relax while you enjoy an Arizona landmark. Banquet space and private dining rooms are available, and The Stockyards is always an excellent choice for groups.
Great atmosphere and service!!
Excellent food, service and atmosphere...will definitely return when we can
Great ambiance and great service. I was disappointed that our requested medium rare prime rib didn’t have a hint of pink in it. Still juicy and flavorful but NOT medium rare. Other entrees perfectly cooked. Sides, salads, soup and desserts all excellent. Waiter awesome
We were sat by a table of 20. It was noisy. My husband had the prime rib. He said it had no favor.
Our steaks were terrible! The service was great. The value wasn’t there. Save your money. Note, this was our second time there. The first time was great!
Excellent. We ended up eating in the bar and was womderful
So I thought Stockyards was great...Server was great and the atmosphere was great. Streak was good, Perhaps I will try another cut next time.
Food and service was great. Great ambiance.
I have been here several times and it has been wonderful but I am disappointed in the way people dress coming to a nice establishment as this. Management should not allow shorts and sandals, I am a native Arizonan and know the history of the stockyards and I make it a point to dress when I go to fine restaurants.
Such a great experience was not 100% sure been traveling all day and was in a sweatshirt was in for a collage visit not sure if we would fit in. Our server Ron was extremely informative on the specials and helpful on the wine list. Food was amazing service was amazing and overall experience was amazing. Check out this piece of history.
Our group got talking after dinner and we weren’t pressured to leave. THANK YOU !
Iconic Phoenix restaurant. this place dates from the 40's and retains its original charm. my spouse remembers going there in the 60's as a kid and the stockyards were still active. Overall great service and throw back vibe. Food was extremely good and prices moderate
Everyone enjoyed their meals. I had the pear salad with a generous portion of Salmon that was prepared excellently. The appetizers of Shrimp Cocktail and Onion Rings were a hit. Our guests enjoyed their meals as well. We meet monthly with this top customer of ours. The meals we have shared at Stockyard have always been stellar.
Excellent service. However for the price, the quality of my steak was not as good as it should be. I would expect a $48 steak to not be tough and mine was. I didn't send it back because we were under time constraints and didn't have time to wait any longer. Everything else was very good.
One of the best meals I've ever had! Prime rib was fantastic. Cant wait to go back.
Our food was delicious. Our waiter, Tom, was outstanding - attentive, but unobtrusive. The entire experience was delightful!
Everything is top notch. Wait staff is excellent. Food is excellent and so is the atmosphere. Enjoy the Stock Yards restaurant every time we go. Highly recommend.
Nice evening, nothing exceptional but low key and tasty
We were seated at a great table and we had an excellent waitress. We will definitely be returning.
Always a great place to dine. Especially if you are a carnivore. Though my girlfriend had the trout and it was perfect. I had the NY strip. Grilled to perfection accompanied with a baked potato. We dined fairly early, 1730, in the saloon. About an hour later it really began to fill up along with the separate dining rooms. Service was excellent. Attentive but not obtrusive. An old school restaurant that still serves a relish tray beforehand. We dined on a Saturday evening so if you are looking for a bit quieter experience you may want to choose a weekday.
Stockyards is a piece of Arizona history. We love the food and venue - old photos of what Phoenix used to be. Great steaks and good service -
Pretty pricey. Don't get me wrong, it was a good steak but wow I can get a good steak at a lot of places for a lot less. Our waiter was good and the atmosphere was nice. Overall can't give a higher rating just due to the price.
We have ate here 3 times . First time was the best second time I ordered the filet they asked if they could butterfly it I said ok I could only eat half so asked for take home box they took into back said sorry it fell on the floor third time baked potato was warm the waitresse didn't come back till we were half through our meal
Might be OK for dinner, but not suitable for business lunch as it is far too noisy!
Outstanding. Eat in the bar for the best experience
Excellent service, a good selection and well presented. The ambiance was excellent as usual. I love the historic presentation.
We had one of the best experiences yet. The service was spot on, the food was perfect in every way and their bar is a great place to meet before you're seated. We decided to revisit this restaurant next time we're in Phoenix.
Great spot to get a great steak in Phoenix !!
The Stockyards never disappoints, but our server, Mark, made this visit above and beyond the usual exceptional dining experience. We were celebrating our son’s birthday and Mark was very attentive and made us all feel special on this special day.
It was great
The lobster tails did not have any seasoning whatsoever. The prime rib came out cold and the mashed potatoes were cold as well.
Nothing special, food is overpriced for what you get. Would have enjoyed Ruth’s Chris much more for the same pricepoint.
Best Steaks Ever!!!!
my husband's steak was tough and gristle... new york....
the server took it back and replaced it with a better cut... still did not have the outstanding flavor he desired.
my prime rib was good... but the brocollini was tough and not cooked enough.
had to ask for more corn bread... wasn't offered.
The steak and service were excellent. Because I have many allergies, I had difficulties with their menu. I hope they will consider some gluten-free options and tone down the number of things that contain garlic. But, except for that, it was an enjoyable evening.
We celebrated my husband’s birthday just the two of us. It was a great experience.
Great food attention to detail
Love the menu, history and staff. We had 4 ladies for lunch after our tour of the Tovrea Castle.
Perfect place to end up. All longtime residents of Phoenix and Scottsdale. Been waiting a long time
to finally tour and catch up on Tovrea history.
Thanks for asking.
First time there, great experience! Would recommend to others to try out!
Food was excellent. I had a bison sirloin which was amazing. My wife and our guest had the fillet... you literally could cut them with a butter knife. Very tender and delicious flavor. Wine list was excellent and very reasonable. Well done
