The Stinking Rose
Our server Andrew was amazing and made great recommendations. The food was good but not exciting. Overall enjoyed our first visit.
Garlic, pasta AND no corkage fee for wine? Sold! Only negative for my party of 16 was that they were 30 minutes late setting up our table. I made the reservation 1 week prior and even called the day before to confirm. Frustrating since they close early, and we were all starved. Extra points for not rushing us and allowing us to stay an extra hour after closing!
Great food and service as always!!! The garlic totally rocks!!!
Loved it! Very charming atmosphere and food was amazing!
This was surprisingly awesome! The staff especially our server Mariana and the manager Stephen were so incredibly accommodating! The food was so great, drinks perfect and service, beyond! I can’t believe that after 20 years of living in Los Angeles, I have never been here because I thought it was some sort of tourist destination. IT’S NOT!! It’s awesome! After you finish your meal, go into the bar and have a nightcap with Gary (the one man band extraordinaire) leave him a tip, because he’s that incredible! The whole establishment feels like a warm, cozy “Cheers” like the hometown you came from before you moved to LA!I I actually can’t wait to go back! I’m so glad I came here tonight, what a fun place! Cheers!
I’ve been to the Stinking Rose numerous times and I love it there. Food always good, service always great.
Great food with amazing service
Great food. Best meatloaf. Bar should have better selection especially scotch.
My husband and I arrived about 20 minutes or so early for our reservation, but were quickly seated by the friendly and polite host. Our server, Jasmine, was very quick to stop by, greet us, and bring us water while we looked at the menu, and then helped us choose a very good Pinot Grigio to go with our meal. We shared a large salad and the warm fresh garlic rolls to start, and each had the garlic prime rib. The prime rib was served exactly how each of us wanted it with the standard sides of mashed potatoes and spinach. Everything was so flavorful and delicious. The portions are pretty good, so we had to box half of our plates to go. Since they knew it was our anniversary, they brought candles, garlic hats, and a scoop of their garlic ice cream with caramel sauce. After all the garlic throughout the meal, you really can't taste the garlic in the ice cream. We were so happy and satisfied with our meal. We highly recommend it for others.
The food was mediocre and overpriced. The best dish we had was the appetizer of roasted garlic and rolls.
The service was excellent. Every employee was extremely attentive.
The restaurant is an overpriced tourist trap. The decor down to the prices
If you love garlic, this is the place for you. Whole Pieces Garlic come with your meal. Garlic fries are to die for.
Love the atmosphere, food and service, went for my wife’s birthday.
We were extremely satisfied with our food choices and the service was excellent. We ordered the lamb shank and pork chop as our entrees and they were delicious. The sizzling platter of shrimp and crab legs was excellent and the drinks were sensational. I went with friends and can’t wait to take my family the next time.
It was just middle of the road. Glad I went once. Not likely to go again. Over hyped and under delivered for the price.
Celebrating my mother-in-law’s 72nd birthday. She had a great, and we all enjoyed every bit of meals.
I had a wonderful time. I went because I love garlic but I was surprised. I didn't expect the ambient to be so different and interesting. It was more than I waited for! Thank you.
You can not go wrong with the place! Food is always great, service is good and the ambience is very good. Wine and the easy access make it one my favourite restaurants. Ands it give value for your buck!
Stinking Rose has always been one of my favorite places. However I ordered the 12oz. Ribeye for the first time. All I can say is amazing!!! I still salivate every time I think about it. Plus I had so much left over that when I brought it home my husband thought I had ordered an additional meal. Then he raved about how great the ribeye was too.
It was a very nice atmosphere, although me and my party were there for 2 hours waiting to be served which was very frustrating but it was a very good experience.
Always a treat to visit the Stinking Rose. I love the good food, good drinks, great service and kitchy atmosphere. Super fun!
Excellent dinner! The Mussels and shrimp were delicious. I only wish the shrimp wasn’t peel and eat. But that didn’t stop me from enjoying it. Host was friendly. Seated right away because we had a reservation. Our server was so sweet and accommodating. I think her name was Maria or Mariana? Anyway, she was great. I’ll definitely be back soon. Oh, and treat yourself to their vanilla custard ice cream!
Horrible food and cheap waitress trying to say no for whatever we asked her ! Even the hot sauce. Everything looked so old and dirty, clamps made my husband have a food poising! Overall disgusting
It was great ambiance, great food, a little loud, due to a large party in a small room, but we had a great time, I love that you don't charge a corkage fee! Thank you, I have already recommended it to friends!
Nothing special unfortunately. Note to management: you should fix the men’s room door so the whole restaurant doesn’t reek of urinal cakes and toilet bowl cleaner.
Good for a special night, pretty pricey for what it is, but the atmosphere is great and the decor is whimsical.
Starting off with Garlic Rose Relish and bread, we really enjoyed each dish at the Stinking Rose. The sea bass was out of the world, and two members of our party had steak which they proclaimed as some of the best they have tasted. The cocktails were awesome. Service was top notch, and we really appreciated the valet parking. The only "con" was that we got a note from OpenTable asking why we didn't show up, as we certainly did.
Everything was good, but the price was excessive for the food. I certainly was not impressed by the $$$$ value
We got engaged earlier that day on the beach. We celebrated our engagement at the Stinking Rose with a tender steak, a stiff cocktail and some yummy sides.
Service was great!
Loved my steak!
Garlic ice cream, suggestion, have it FIRST so you can taste it! Still delicious though!
If you love garlic, this is a must visit place. I recommend the prime rib. Amazing.
Good Food! Not our first time here, sometimes the restaurant can be a bit noisy - but we went early in the evening this time so it wasn't so bad. They forgot to bring my daughters salad out before the main course, but they did not charge us for our deserts because of the mistake. Overall it was a good experience.
Love the Stinking Rose. This was my second time there, but have wanted to go there for many years. The food is delicious, the service was fantastic and the ambiance was just awesome. I highly recommend The Stinking Rose!
It was a fun and enjoyable experience. I would recommend it to everyone. Looking forward to going again.
The 40 clove chicken was good. The pork chop wasn’t good. The seasoning they put on the chop wasn’t a good pairing. The drinks were great!! Ask for Parmesanto
Basic date night and indulged in the garlic! Cloves in oil and the complimentary bread was great. Spicy and blood orange martini were delicious. You get two for the price of one at most restaurants in the area. The petite sirloin was cooked ABSOLUTELY PERFECT. I could eat the everyday. Adding some cloves in oil with the potatoes and creamed spinach and you have a perfect bite. The mussels and shrimp skillet was a little over cooked simply because the skillet is super hot but the butter sauce, garlic and soy sauce turned the flavors on point. Will go again!
Go hungry! One of my favorite restaurants. My favorite dishes are as follows, Meatloaf, Shrimp in any dish.
Love, love, love the stinking rose! Every moment, every bite was beyond exceptional! #lovegarlic
