The Steakhouse at Paso Robles Inn
Prime Rib French Dip
thinly sliced slow roasted prime rib, creamy horseradish, swiss cheese, au jus, served on a local italian roll
8 oz burger with caramelized onions, applewood smoked bacon, choice of cheese, hand cut fries on an artisan bun
Great outdoor service in the courtyard of the hotel..
Great social distancing, great menu selection. Enjoyed our dinner.
Food and service was good. Not great. Overall average. The outdoor dining space was nice. Lots of space and good air circulation. The ambiance could be improved with lighting.
All seating was outdoors due to COVID 19 so tables were on the grass . Ladies be careful with heels sinking into the grass.
The food and service was fantastic.
We had been told that the Steakhouse was one of Paso Robles better restaurants so we decided to try it out. Because of COVID-19 restrictions, dining was on the lawn behind the restaurant - a very nice environment. The trees were uplit and an artificial stream meandered at the edge.
Service was prompt, friendly, and efficient. Because it had been 117 deg that day and it was still in the 80s at 7:30 pm we chose a light meal of a calamari appetizer, followed by salads and a carrot-fennel soup.
Overall the food was good with one exception. I ordered the house salad with a grilled sirloin steak cooked medium rare. The steak was in fact cooked correctly however the quality of the meat was not great. Being a steakhouse I would have expected the steak to be easily cut however it was tough and chewy - a big disappointment.
After dinner we drove around the area and noted there were more diners at other restaurants than what we saw at the Steakhouse making us think we might have had a better value experience elsewhere.
Due to COVID we sat outside under the overhang for our 7p reservation. Everything was great except the heat...it was 103 and by the time we left was 98. As there was no breeze it would have helped tremendously to have a couple fans/fan misters blowing to help cool off the tables in this area especially since we were on concrete and next to brick exterior of bldg. Otherwise food & drink was great! I really liked my grilled peach salad with salmon and my husband & friends enjoyed the prime rib.
Yes, it is because of COVID that this review is not excellent. The setting was not great. It was too hot in Paso and dining outside was not ideal. There were flies everywhere and maybe having citronella candle or a giant fan would help. Doing that extra work should be worth the expensive food and wine we just paid for.
Our server was quick and efficient very friendly! food was excellent just trying to get acclimated to the outdoor dining at night there wasn’t much light but they moved us to a table with better lighting as soon as we mentioned it
Ate outside due to Covid restrictions. Tables were well spaced to give privacy and grounds were beautiful.
Food was awesome. Bread to start was soft and warm. We Split a house salad that was delicious. 10oz prime rib seemed much bigger than 10. Garlic mashed and string beans were delicious. Sirloin with baked potato and asparagus was awesome too. Great mojito drink and choices of wine by the glass.
Our first visit to the Steakhouse but won’t be our last. Enjoyed the outdoor seating and the food was outstanding ! Along with the service .
We had early dinner. We sat outside, very pretty setting. With the fountain and flowers and trees.
We had the rib eye. It was delicious.
We started with fresh warm bread and a nice salad. Good portions; food was delicious!!!
Our waitress was great. We will definitely go back!!
It was our first time in Paso Robles and in this restaurant. There was no host that greet you at the front so we waited for 10 mins before got seated outdoor. Seating next to a koi pond that has plenty of leaves floating around. We ordered a Ceasar salad which has an okay taste, halibut ceviches that should be forbidden to served to your guest because it taste nasty (price $15.00). The halibut tasted rubbery and the ingredients that comes with it wasn't fresh and the flavored was blah. Another order was fish taco. Can't barely taste the fish because the taco was packed with looks like a coleslaw on the top. It was a bad lunch and expensive lunch for $50.00 for two people (ouch!)..The service was so slow even though there were only 2 couple of restaurant guests. Not coming back to this restaurant if we are in the area.
We actually enjoyed the outdoor dining. Heaters were enough to take the cool evening breeze away. Service was attentive and friendly and the food was tasty. We felt safe with the distance between tables and the use of masks and gloves added to our ease.
We celebrated our daughter's engagement at The Steakhouse as her fiance' had just proposed at Denner Winery. The food, service & ambiance were excellent as we all shared in their happiness!!
We had to wait for our whole party to arrive to be seated. I don't want to sit in the lobby with a mask on. We did wait outside for the other couple to show up, about 5 mins. Our server was not very engaged, seemed new at serving. We brought our own wine, however she seemed uncomfortable pouring and the pours were too big.
We love the food at the Steakhouse! Steaks are always cooked perfectly and the grilled artichoke always hits the spot.
Very good and friendly service! The food was delicious; I ordered the lamb burger and it was very good! The wine was on point. We were about 7-8 minutes late and received a phone call from the hostess very professionally and respectfully asking if we would be coming. I said we had just parked and were walking toward the entrance. I would highly recommend this place.
The outdoor “COVID” setting is lovely. The food was delicious. The downfall..... lots of flies once food arrived. Really a shame, took the food to go because it was just unbearable.
Sadly due to Covid we had to sit on the patio which was fine except for flies and bees.
Had the ribeye which was tasty but a little too fatty. Also this was a thin cut, not the thicker cut that is served in top steakhouses. My wife liked her fish dish, dining area is beautiful but numerous flies which cut down the enjoyment factor.
Had one of the best salads ever there and the salmon was cooked perfectly. Service was great too.
Dining under the big oaks in the garden was great!
unfortunate. understand it is difficult to have both good food and service during this difficult time, but slightly more effort would have been appreciated.
I highly recommend the butter cake for dessert!
Just a great place to stay overall & If you like steak, this is da place!
Great drink list too & other menu items tasty as well.
3 year work anniversary for a job I love.
They do a wonderful job adhering to COVID policies and providing great service. My friends and I choose this restaurant regularly.
The experience was the perfect ending of a long business day... and in a beautiful place in beautiful California.
Pleasant shaded patio dining with awesome appetizers and entrees.
Great service, nice ambiance Would go back again!
This is the second time I’ve been to this restaurant.
Amazing food and service. Definitely would recommend it and go again.
Its a steakhouse right ? We arrived and they informed us that they only had prime rib , ok that doesn't qualify as a steak house !!! The prime rib was awful, the dropped a slab of meat on 3 plates and my husband got 2 edges of the rib which was clearly left overs, they never bothered asking us if we wanted desert and just gave us a check. DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE !!! TRAGIC!!!
Outdoor dining was a bust. Too windy for comfort.
There were four of us, and because of Covid 19 we were seated outside. We arrived for a 6:30 pm reservation and was seated immediately. By the time our meal was served the sun was behind the trees and we were very comfortable.
The food was good, but not the best that we have had.
The servers were excellent. They paid attention to us and checked in on us often.
With everything that has been going on, we felt safe. Things were clean and everyone wore a mask until seated.
We plan to go again.
The food was very good and they did a very good job given the outdoor seating requirement due to Covid.
food was very good. Sitting alfresco can be great but the constant breeze cooled the food off quicker than we could enjoy it. The wait staff was great. It's a cozy, quiet and pretty dining place.
Had a great evening. Even with Covid-19 outdoor dining requirements we had a great evening. Staff was friendly and accommodating, food was fabulous and the service was great.
Our dinner was an anniversary celebration and we couldn't ask for anything to be better.
