We were seated right away, the drinks and food were excellent. The atmosphere was amazing.
Service was excellent as always. The food, though, is not at the level we had previously enjoyed. I used to enjoy this place from the salad course all the way through dessert. That was not the case with this visit. The salad (wedge) was just ok. The steak had gristle, the potato was twice baked which I hate (not stated on menu). Just a disappointing experience.
This is a regular place for me as I view it as one of the best steakhouses in Portland. Always take one of my children who love it too
Love this place! We go every time we are on that side of town!
The steak with self was good and the bacon ceasar salad. Green beans and asparagus were over cooked and under seasoned. There was a huge mishap with their system when they tried to split the bill and they made us wait 25 minutes before they came back to let us know it had an all in one check rather than split. The waitress also quoted us their special for $32 (which I questioned her because it sounded too good to be true) and when our food was almost ready she came out to apologize and let us know it was actually $52 but too late to change our order. 4 of the 6 of us ordered the special. They offered us 20% for the miscommunication.
Best kept secret in PDX! If you're looking for a great steak 9900 is the place to get it. Casual yet sophisticated and the food is FANTASTIC!!! It's in the Shilo Inn, but don't let that fool you! It's a great place to get delicious steak and tasty cocktails.
Best kept secret in town. Consistently great food and great service.
My wife and I went here for date night. We were early and the establishment had no problem seating us early. The stuffed bell pepper soup was amazing! We both ordered steaks which were very good. The only thing I would suggest is for them to turn the music down a bit. It was too loud. The wait staff was fantastic. We will be back.
They didn’t get the reservation through the Open Table app! Thank goodness it was late and they could seat us!
I have been coming here for years but it seems with the passing of Lou the manager the quality has slipped a notch. My ribeye was good but it was a thinner cut and did not seem to have as much flavor. Also, the mashed potatoes were whipped too much and lost some structure. My wife had the salmon and thought it was excellent. I know that Lou was a stickler about the meat they purchased and I hope that comes back. Everyone is having supply issues so I will give them another chance.
We had Steak, mashed Potatoes, green beans and Cesar salad for side. Also glass of white wine. It was very delicious
Great service from host as well
Best damn steak i have ever had in my life. I will absolutely be back sometime.
The 9900 has been a favorite for a couple of years. The location's unlikely, and the food and drinks are exceptional.
It’s deceiving because it’s in a Shilo Inn. Food was ok. Steak not cooked right and sent back twice. Bar service slow, onion rings unseasoned. Just wasn’t what it appears online.
I took my 3 sons with me and they accommodated us well. Lovely staff and the food was delicious!
This was our first time at 9900 Steakhouse and we loved it! Our server Dacoda was a 10 and she made our visit even better! We had the private room in the back and will for sure book that room again! Food was delicious!
Wow! The food here is amazing--it's a must visit but the location will surprise you. It's inside the nicest Shiloh Inn I've ever been in but it's still a Shiloh Inn. Don't let the outside confuse you, this is a high end steak restaurant--great for a special occasion.
Don’t judge a book by its cover!!!
It’s in a very basic looking Shilo!!! The restaurant and cigar lounge are GREAT!!
On our family vacation, we were trying to have a nice steak in Portland and ended up finding this place on open table. It’s basically attached to a motel but they do a nice job of hiding it. Food is what you pay for: mediocre at best but not terribly expensive so what can you expect. Drink was very good and the atmosphere is decent but there’s no reason why anybody would need to go out of their way for this place.
Great steakhouse and good service. This was our first time going and will be be coming back a again.
Best steak I've ever had! I was very surprised when my meal was one of the best meals I've had for a steakhouse in Portland. 10/10 would recommend. Honestly.
Greta except for a very disappointing dessert menu.
Very attentive staff. Halibut special was delicious and steak dinner cooked to perfection. Definitely will return.
Bad experience overall. Service from bar was slow and incorrect to start the night. Finally got our bottle of wine and ordered appetizers only to find out that they were out of filet, baked potato and the corn dish. How a supposed 4 star steakhouse runs out of filets and baked potatoes on a Friday night is beyond me. Finished our wine and left. I’ve never left a restaurant before because of service. Felt sorry for our waitress, she was trying to do her best, so I did tip her.
This restaurant is not what I expected. It is located in an old Shilo Inn and feels dated itself. We were seated quickly, but waited quite a long time for our server to return. Our appetizers of onion rings were tasty as was the Caesar salad. Three out of the five in our party ordered the 6 oz. filet, and each of us ordered our steak cooked at different temperatures. However, they were all cooked very medium-rare, even the steak that was ordered medium-well. We would have liked to discuss this with our waitress, but once the food had been delivered to the table, she didn’t return until our meals were nearly eaten. I was very disappointed in the experience and would not recommend this restaurant. For the price, it did not come close to what I had hoped for.
Service was great, food was only okay. One of the two steaks was really undercooked (light medium rare instead of medium) and came out cold (butter wasn’t even melting on top) but the sides were great. We heard the table next to us also mention their steaks were undercooked. Overall was okay, but probably won’t choose again for a special occasion night out.
Great to be able to get back into a restaurant again and The 9900 was the perfect place to make it happen. The meal and service just as we remembered.
Food was great! Hidden gem! We will be back!
Our server Seka made our whole experience wonderful.
We celebrated our daughters college graduation. If you are looking for great food and great service. This is the place!!!
What a pleasant surprise to try this steakhouse and discover one of our new favorite spots! Loved the dining room, the bar and the cigar lounge is such a cozy spot if you smoke cigars. The steakhouse had a great atmosphere and all of our food was excellent. All portions were generous, fresh vegetables and high quality steaks. The value was incredible compared to some of the big name Portland steakhouses, and we wondered what would be compromised, but nothing was! We loved it and just cancelled our reservation for our upcoming anniversary at another restaurant and will book here instead. Great for special occasions but reasonable enough for dinner anytime.
So happy this restaurant is open again!
Steaks were perfect and service was good forgot 1 item but the mushrooms were so good veggies perfect
After being closed for a while, it was delightful to return to this restaurant. The food was well flavored, however the steaks were on the tuff side. Our waitress was wonderful. The asparagus was some of the best this year. The potatoes were perfect.
One employee had a braid that went down her back and when she bent over it dragged on the floor. Most unappetizing.
Great place for a date night! The food and drink were tasty and the service was fantastic!
Consistently great! From the staff to the food to the whole experience- it was GREAT! I look forward to dining there again very soon.
Fantastic as usual! Consistently the best, most tender filet around and the lobster anglais is is a perfect addition.
The atmosphere was very relaxing and there was a good gap between ordering drinks, receiving appetizers/salad/soup and receiving the dinner. Didn't feel rushed at all. Food was outstanding (I had the prime rib but only offered on Sundays).
Delicious and a beautiful atmosphere! We loved our night out!
Food was excellent but we did wait quite a while (almost an hour) to get our food after ordering. Delicious bone in round eye and my lady ordered a filet mignon. We both enjoyed them a lot.
