Located in the heart of downtown Stratford, steps away from the Avon Theatre, The Starlight is loved by locals & tourists alike. Listed as one of Air Canada’s 2024 Best New Restaurants, our menu crafted by chef Yva Santini is perfect for sharing pre/post theatre. We are bringing the dinner party back and we can't wait to welcome you. Our kitchen is open late 7 days a week to make sure you can dine anytime. To drink: think ice cold martinis, margaritas on tap & fan fave house bottled cocktails, hyper local craft beers & a carefully curated wine list paired perfectly to our menu. The vibe is motel chic meets mid-century modern and once night sets in the candles are lit and the room transforms .. think old school piano bar meets 70's lounge. We host live music featuring local musicians EVERY weekend. Saturdays are local good time bands, Sundays are musician focused jazz & mondays feature monthly karaoke & trivia nights. So-so experience, staff wasn't really friendly and food was too expensive for what it was. The chips and crudite appetizer was a small bag of Miss Vickie's chips and two small pieces of cucumber, two small carrots, and two small snap peas with a rather flavorless dip. I was disappointed in the food in general.

Overall a great experience. Different than a typical restaurant. Very laid back vibe. You typically order a few appetizer-like dishes and share them, they were fresh and tasted good, and there was lots of variety on the smallish menu. We arrived just after 6 (with a reservation, but I think it wouldn't have been needed then), and took our time at every stage, and still left before 7:30 for our 8pm show. Food was prepared quickly after ordering. The live music on Canada Day was nice. Our server was really great, some of them seemed a little light on the pleasantries and you may have to flag someone down because they are all constantly working, doing something from bar at front to food at back, but again, they are friendly, not phony; they'll get you out in time and it's a pleasant laid back vibe, keepin it real... so I think you'll like it, just know what to expect.

As Stratford residents we get out for dinner every now and then but something that keeps us from going out more is the same old places, which although not bad aren't amazing (for the prices of things now). Starlight was differerent. The atmosphere was AMAZING. Live Jazz?! Cmon. You don't get that anymore. The place was hopping on a Sunday and for good reason. The service was aweaome. The food was really, really great, like, wow great. Such an awesome spot. We will definitely be back!

The food was delicious - beautifully presented and so flavourful. The service was fabulous - attentive, friendly, and delivery of food and drinks to the table was perfectly timed. I plan to return and highly recommend The Starlight.

Starlight is a busy spot so it was noisy. That being said the food we had was delicious (chickpea fritters blueberry pie) and our waitress was wonderful. We will be back.

Megan was very welcoming and friendly. The chairs and booth seating were very comfortable. The food was unique and delicious! Especially loved the green sauce with the pickerel! We would definitely return.

The staff are friendly, and the ambiance is pleasant. However we had to ask several times just for some water, and the food portions were quite small for the price. The ravioli was much too salty. The Panisse Tartine was delicious, but again the portion extremely small - like an appetizer really. The Caesar salad and bread option were also delicious, but also very small portions. Overall, the value was not what we'd hoped. We are unlikely to return to eat at the Starlight.
