   We had such a lovely Sunday lunch celebrating my mums birthday. Great service and the food was excellent!

   My husband and I visited for Sunday lunch as the pub is under new ownership. Initially offered a tiny table but then moved to a better one. Implication was that all the tables were booked but no-one ever sat at them. The dining area is very pleasant. We waited over half an hour for our food which was lukewarm on arrival. My salmon was reasonable but the cabbage and broccoli uninspiring. My husband had roast beef. The plate was piled high but quality over quantity and hot food would have been preferable. Very limited menu for puddings. We each had one but mediocre to say the least. I don't imagine we will return.

   Why on earth are diners expected to adhere to a ‘ Business Casual’ dress code in a local village pub. The booking App is ridiculous; cancellations at less than 48 hours notice attracts a £10 fine per head. This sort of inflexibility will jeopardise the restaurant.

   Hi Michael, thanks so much for visiting and the feedback. We don't have a dress code and have amended the settings in OpenTable as best we can. We welcome everybody, however they are dressed. The cancelation policy is also a standard feature of OpenTable and the £10 charge is only applied on large bookings of more than 6.    We had a lovely lunch in the Garden Outdoor seating. Delicious meal and excellent menu - a great combination of both pub classics and fresh/seasonal dishes. The grilled Asparagus was very tasty as were the Greek Salad and Mussels in white wine sauce. Service was spot on, very friendly and welcoming. We thoroughly recommend and will definitely return.

   Lovely village pub with great atmosphere. Good selection of beers and wine and the Sunday roast was soooo good. Friendly staff, nice people, felt very welcome.

   Another fab meal at this gem of a country pub. Kids devoured their food. I loved my roasted cauliflower with whipped feta. Cant wait to go back.

   Our first meal under the new ownership, very good but being seated close to a speaker we found the background music intrusive. The owner responded well to our request to turn down the volume. Not being fans of music in these environments we are probably more sensitive so this is very much a personal thing.

    We had a lovely meal, good beer and wine. My wife loved the Provence Rose. Highlight for me was the chicken burger which was one of the best I’ve had. Lovely beer garden and a larger garden out the back which has space for cars too so no need to try and park in the village. Will definitely come back.
