   After visiting the other restaurants, The Star at Harome and also Star in the city York I think we had high expectations. The restaurant itself is very well fit out and in a great location. When we arrived we were shown to our table which was in a lovely position by the window, until it started to rain then all the sightseers decided to perch themselves on the windowsill outside eating there fish n chips. Would suggest putting something there as it wasn’t the best view. The starters we had were excellent twice baked soufflé and soup (very tasty) the main course was very bland not much taste and we had waited over 45 minutes between courses. If the restaurant had been very busy this would have been ok, but it was moderate. Staff were pleasant and helpful, but I did notice the guy’s coat in front of us had fallen from his chair and all the staff that passed stepped over it, thought this was strange, why not pick it up or at least tell him it was on the floor. Would I return, NO

   Some of our food was totally fine, oysters were great. However the portions are very small and are not really good value. They also made a mistake with our order but it was quickly corrected. Staff were very friendly and it was a good atmosphere. We shall certainly give it another go.

   Very good food and well presented. Vegetarian options quite limited but good. Dessert disappointing.

   I frequent the Star in Harome often and it's one of my all time favourite places. If you compare the two places there is no comparison, however, that can relate to all manner of things, I think the decor is great and considering it's the old tourist information office I think a great job has been done. I think it's lacking in a little personality and ambience but I have no doubt that over time, these things will come. The only fault I can really give is our service was lacking. He was maybe having an off day, he just seemed really disinterested, we were out for a friends birthday and had come to you for our last evening. Overall the food was lovely. I have a severe nut allergy and I was able to have the chocolate delice which was a real treat and was absolutely delicious. Thank you, I'll see you in Harome in a few weeks for my (cough cough) 30th

   Excellent locally sourced food. The menu is a great mix of the traditional with a number of seasonal creative dishes.

   Everything about The Star Inn the Harbour was exceptional. The service was friendly, the ambience was great and the food was amazing. Loved it, and will definitely return.

   The food was very good and the service excellent. We went for lunch, one of us had the cod fillet and chips the other one partridge with pickled brambles both dishes were very good … and the expresso couldn't be faulted. All in all a nice place to go for lunch with pleasant surroundings and excellent service … might even go back for dinner one day.
