We had a very nice experience at the Star. The staff were really friendly and were very accommodating. We had a pleasant drink outside whilst they cooked our meal then called us in when the food was ready. It was a very relaxing time

Great food and great service. We were made to feel special from the moment we walked in and the elderly gentleman who we took for his birthday was wished happy birthday and also given a birthday plate at the end of the meal, which was a lovely touch. The bar tender was so welcoming and chatty which was lovely and it made his day talking about politics and flying with him. Thank you

First time our meals were very ordinary. If you are going to serve us a man obviously heated up Sunday lunch, then you should tell us. It was awful. Pork was dry and chewy, crackling inedible, roast potatoes were rock hard and cauliflower cheese dried up. So disappointing. We ahould have said something, but didn’t like to. We won’t be coming in again for a late lunch.

Very very quiet! We were the only people eating. Service was pleasant and unobtrusive. Food was mixed - excellent steak, reasonable risotto but very stodgy sandwich and poor salad with lettuce leaves not properly cleaned. Puddings were nothing to write home about. Felt the menu could be revamped to include some more summery items and salads. Young waiter was delightful - very polite. Pity the bill took so long to come considering we were the only ones eating.

Had the Bottomless Roast. Superb. Veggies catered for. My teenager wanted a burger (not on the menu) and they happily made this for him. Service great. Some music would have been a nice touch. Will be back for this for sure. ☺️

Really tasty roast but the lamb was tough, quite expensive for what it was. Parking also very limited and we had an early booking

Good food as usual and great service from Lily. Unfortunately they’d run out of some dishes which was disappointing as this limited the menu choices.

This was our fourth visit to The Star and the 20 mile journey is worth the ride to once again be able to soak up the ambiance, the cheerful attitude of all the staff and of course the great menus and superb food. We hope to be back soon and to bring some of our family along to. Thank you too all the 'Stars' !

The Sunday roast was delicious. Only niggle was not enough Pork was on the plate and it was a little overcooked. Sliced too thinly also.
