About The Stanton Social
Chef/owner Chris Santos has teamed up with Tao owner Richard Wolf, and the James Beard 'Best New Restaurant Design' award winning firm AvroKo, to create The Stanton Social, a staple and neighborhood favorite of the Lower East Side.
The design of this three level hot spot tips it's hat to the neighborhood’s garment history and offers diners a culinary odyssey. All menu items are designed for sharing, offering guests a chance to experience multiple dishes and flavors throughout their meal. In addition to its 120 seats, The Stanton Social offers a lounge and bar on the upper level, featuring guest DJs. Dishes range from $9-$30 each.

The Stanton Social Ratings and Reviews
The food was superb. Except the birthday cupcake was terrible, cheaply made and presentation is poor. This restaurant is pricey for the location the chef is very lucky he has a name on chopped but the service was terrible and the Tuna poke was not fresh and presentation was poor. If there’s three people on the table you only get three? What’s that all about? Odd. Also the saffron bucatini was dripping w oil. Disgusting ... we barely touched it but since the waitress hardly returned to our table we just let it go and moved forward w our meals.
Also the bidders are so fast to get you out of the restaurant that our dish was cleared off table before we could say no please don’t take it we’re not done. So the service lacks professionalism and curteousy to communicate effectively .
I had a 9:30pm reservation for 6 people and we weren't seated till 10:45- when everyone was there at 9:20. I called to let the hostess know it was a birthday celebration just to make her aware it was a special occasion (and I also had to drop off a cake earlier in the day), and that clearly didn't matter. The bouncer wouldn't allow us to go talk to the hostess when it became an increasingly long wait, so we weren't even allowed to complain or ask questions. This has now happened three times at this restaurant, and the food is just not worth it. Terrible hospitality.
Loved everything about it- excellent service and we took recommendations from our waitress who never steered us wrong! Knew we wanted to try the French Onion Soup Dumplings, but she also suggested Pierogis which were delicious. Beef Wellington, Meatballs and Cobb Salad were also favorites. We will be back and will recommend to friends. Just a comfortable place, a friendly atmosphere and superior service.
Came from Los Angeles for two nights and decided to come back to this spot, like before it didn’t disappoint, food was great service wasn’t bad at all we just had a great time. Music was really nice as we sat at a table by the bar. Overall if in ny definitely hit this place up and vandal.
I went to this place on a recommendation from a coworker and was very impressed. The food was absolutely amazing. If you go here and don't get the french onion soup dumplings, you're doing it wrong. I could have eaten about four more orders of them. Service was great and the bartender upstairs was very prompt and friendly. This is a great place for a girl's night out or date night.
Went with my husband on a Saturday night. We were looking for a place with good food and good music to dine in. Music was not great, 90s hits most of the time, not my preference. The food was amazing, everything we order was on point. We love it!!! Definitely going back!
We had a reservation for 8:30. When we arrived, the place was so full, we couldn’t even stand there. The noise was impossible! They sent us to wait at the bar upstairs. It was just as bad! No place to stand, no one was able to take our order for a drink, and it was impossible to talk. Our table was ready at 9:14. Almost an hour late...
No matter how good their food is, and it is, this is not the way to treat your customers!
Unfortunately despite having a reservation we waited over an hour and finally gave up on getting in. Was very disappointing as we had flown in from Toronto for the weekend and were very much looking forward to it. We’re back in December and will give it another try because we’re fans of chris santos, but his staff definitely let us down this week. Can’t rate the food obviously because we didn’t get to eat but the menu is what will ultimately bring us back to try it one more time.
The amuse-bouche was amazing - warm carrot soup with sweet potato crunch. Our favorite "tapas" were the perogies, ravioli, cauliflower, and meatballs. The arepas were very average.
The gimlet was awesome as was the strawberry fields cocktail.
Went for a 21st Birthday gathering. Having never experienced a sharing menu, I wasn’t sure what to expect. It was a lot of fun, the food was delicious and was great how it just kept coming. Presentation was sophisticated and inviting.
The staff was very sweet and had the table set with custom wine glasses I had bought for the occasion. I would definitely recommend, next time I want to try some of the cocktails which looked amazing.
Ok and this has nothing to do with food, but we were all impressed guy who cleared our table of 7 plus serving plates all in one swoop holding everything with one arm!!
Great food and small plates allowed us to sample a wide variety of menu items. Happy hour in the lounge made for some excellent prices on wine and beer and we started off with a couple of a la carte apps before ordering off the full menu. Great for a slow paced enjoyable night out.
I took my daughter and her friend here for a fun dinner out in NYC. The food was fabulous and the service was great. We had one vegetarian, one fish eater and one everything eater in the group and there was plenty for everyone to enjoy. The french onion soup dumplings were my favorite. Very fun ambience. We were still finishing our drinks after we paid the check and wanted to linger because we were having fun chatting and the hostess graciously found us a nice table at the bar. Was a wonderful evening and very reasonably priced.
Never fails to impress. The drinks were delicious and strong-enough - the Notorious F.I.G. and their special (coconut rum, lime, cinnamon) were incredible. Five of us ordered 9 plates to share and it was the perfect amount for a reasonable price. Must gets: goat cheese pierogies, french onion soup dumplings, grilled zucchini ravioli, beef w broccoli, and the social mac & cheese. Skip the Caesar Pizzetta - wasn't great. But the Flatbread BLT and Taquitos were great. We asked to size up any of the small plates to offer 5 servings due to our party size, which was well worth it! Would recommend to anyone, any day of the year.
