Great venue, feels like an old style pub, toilets dirty and Sunday roast ordinary. Staff friendly and parking very difficult better off getting an uber. Music performance space tight but good. Worth giving it go.

I had my 40th birthday at The Standard Hotel in Fitzroy, and it was absolutely perfect. We were in the outdoor beer garden, which was warm and welcoming thanks to the heaters and the cosy setup. The space felt private and full of character, with fairy lights, greenery, and that effortlessly cool Fitzroy vibe. The staff were incredible—friendly, attentive, and made the whole process easy from start to finish. Food and drinks were top-notch, with generous portions and great local options. My guests couldn’t stop raving about the venue, and I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better place to celebrate. Highly recommended for anyone planning an event or just after a classic pub experience done right.

We went here specifically for the roast dinner and it did not disappoint. Really great food and came out quick! Staff were a bit flat, but other than that really great place to eat and drink!

We had a great time having dinner at the Standard Hotel. The place was hopping but we were seated right away. After ordering our drinks arrived promptly and the food wasn't far behind. Nothing fancy foodwise but delicious. It was very noisy for us older folks but everyone was having a great time, including us.

Great pub and spacious beer garden. Live music inside and some cosy wood burning fires. The beer garden was super toasty too with overhead heaters. Food great too.

Probably the loudest Pub I have ever dined at which made the experience a bit difficult. We had to leave early because we were unable to carry out a conversation without almost yelling which is unfortunate. In my opinion, it is a great pub to socialise with friends but not so good to dine, which is a shame as the food was quite nice. It was busy, energetic and loud and the environment was quite good for a drink with friends but for a sit down meal with friends, well, unfortunately we wouldn't return for that.
