Make The Standard your standard!
The service, quality of food and space was wonderful.
couple people with no masks otherwise OK
food ok ,oysters not so much
This was my 3rd time at The Standard and it is quickly becoming one of my favorite restaurants in Cleveland. Perfect atmosphere for a date with your significant other or girlfriends. The food and service was excellent as usual - I even tried a couple new holiday cocktails on the menu which were excellent as well. To mention, the chef/owner has always greeted me when being seated at my table, which I think is important to mention and contributes to the many reasons why I keep coming back.
Always a delight. Food and serrated always great.
Best restaurant in Cleveland! The chef is incredible and the hospitality takes you back in time. Can’t miss.
Wonderful paella - wonderful menu, wine and outdoor dining in the heated tent. Will definitely go back. Well done!
We truly love this location! The food was great, the service was perfect. Could not have been happier!
I had the short ribs, they were great but my wife had the Sea Bass and Mango Salsa and it was one of the best things we have ever eaten!
Looked on line at the menu. One of the reasons we chose. Disappointed that the menus were not the same. Two items I went for where not available. Otherwise ok.
Place set up for social distancing, wait staff masked and everything was great. Soft music as background. We went at 5pm to avoid a crowd and we were the only people there til 6pm. The food was outstanding as always. Hope they are able to survive the pandemic.
We will be back soon.
Had a wonderful time that evening. The food was excellent though to be honest I was more interested in whom I was with:-) Had the Butternut Squash Bisque and it was excellent! She had the Filet dish and I had the twin Lobster Tails. Both were done to perfection with great flavor. They took the roasted Brussel Sprouts off this menu but I’m sure they will bring them back soon.
The practice appropriate Covid precautions so we were not at all concerned about eating at The Standard. Would highly recommend you try it out if you would like great dining and excellent food with a wide selection to choose from.
We had an early reservation and sat outside on the back patio. Everyone was super friendly and incredibly attentive. Food was lovely.
wow! first time on the new patio and it is gorgeous! we sat at the bar, socially distanced and felt very safe. the food and service was amazing. rack of lamb seasoned to perfection. opted for the mushroom risotto vs potatoes and was not disappointed. bartender to server to hostess and bus staff, gracious and accommodating. can't wait to go back!
I’ve been here twice and I really enjoy this restaurant. It’s very romantic and the owner was there both times and you could just tell that he really loves what he does for he gives you a Wonderful dining experience! Both times I went there to see NICK COSTA perform in the beautiful decorated patio. The table setting with white tablecloths etc. was very inviting and the service was excellent! To keep this review real… I think the bread could be improved and the prices are a little high but overall what you get I really feel it is worth the few extra bucks for this classy romantic restaurant and in simple terms...WE deserve it...
They serve what we deserve!!!🥰
Since finding The Standard, I’ve raved and recommended it to all my friends. We brought a couple to try it, and requested patio seating, as their back patio is lovely and was spaced so nicely during this pandemic after the re-opened at the beginning of Summer. When we arrived, I was shocked to see that they have added more tables now, and are not CoVid compliant. We also noticed several of the employees, as well as a manager, not wearing masks, or walking between tables with a mask hanging off one ear. Our excellent server, Bruno, was always masked, and the food was it’s usual fabulous.
We were seated directly in front of the DJ and the speakers. Upon asking if there was another table we could possibly sit, I was told no other tables were available, even though few tables were occupied. It was early, and I figured we would eat and be out of there before the live entertainment began an 1.5 hours later. Needless to say it was loud, even though it was a nice music selection. When the entertainer arrived, he came to the table and asked it the music was too loud, and politely turned the music down slightly. The entertainer has quite a following, evidently, as many people were coming up to him to greet, chat and take photos, not wearing masks after leaving their tables. My friend, who’s health is compromised had to put his mask on each time a group of admirers came by the table. When his show began, up went the volume, to the extent that we could no longer hear each other speak. It ruined the social experience. We asked for boxes, paid, packed up and left. When we stood up, all of the tables were filled and it was so crowded with chairs so close together with everyone seated, that there was only one passable area, right down the middle of the patio to exit.
I had another patio reservation to return with other friends next week, which I have now cancelled. We will go elsewhere, at least until this pandemic ends, as it did not feel safe.
The restaurant was very drafty, especially cold by windows. Service was not very attentive. But food was excellent.
Gorgeous outdoor patio . It’s beautiful . Amazing food and great
Service . Wine menu reasonable . Drinks amazing . Hands down I recommend this venue. I drove in from strongsville and well worth it
First time at The Standard but this eatery has been on my radar for some time an some good friends dine here regularly. My experience was a good one. One thing that really irks me, however, is when the server relays the specials to the table and they DO NOT QUOTE THE PRICE. The salmon special was $45 that evening that my guest ordered, well above the vast majority of other entree prices on their menu. That should have been stated as you should not have to ask the price in front of your guests. I hate surprises on my bill.
The Standard was off its game a bit due to some glitches and slowness in the kitchen. I asked a worker there what was going on and they said they were busier than anticipated which resulted in their uncharacteristically uneven performance. The food, presentation, ambiance and friendly, knowledgeable and professional waitstaff makes this restaurant a great experience . I still highly recommend them and am happy to see them open and operating in this difficult environment.
Terrific, all around
My husband had the bouillabaisse and I had the Dover sole. Both were great.
Servers all wore masks, however, the bartenders only wore theirs under their chins or hanging off of an ears. Since we were dining in the bar area tables it made us a little uncomfortable.
It was fantastic! I’ve been there 4 times and it’s always different and delicious !
Beautiful back outdoor dining area. Great service, wine and food were fabulous.
First time at the Standard but it wont be our last. Our server, Tiana, was delightful and made terrific suggestions for what to have. The service was impeccable. I had the sea bass which was good. My husband had the paella which was terrific but enormous (more than enough for 2-in fact we got lunch the next day for both of us from the left overs). The creme brulee was very good also - not egg-y. We ate on the patio which was lovely and not too noisy despite being full. Looking forward to going again!
Food was great and large quantity, took home enough for a second meal at home
We would not eat here again. The overwhelming smell and fumes from cooking in the dining area near the open area of the kitchen was uncomfortable and we could not sit there. We sat on the bar side of the restaurant and it was very loud.
We waited a long time for our food, which was excellent. My husband and I both had the broiled scallops. The waitress was pleasant and efficient, but after we were done eating, we waited quite a while her to take our gift card, return with our bill with the balance due and then there was quite a wait until she came back with our receipt.
Everything was delish. Shrimp & lobster bisque was very good. The helping size for my braised lamb couscous was enough for 2 meals and very tasty. Cocktails could have been stronger.
The restaurant was over booked but Danielle contacted me to correct it and find a suitable time and table. Chef Said is passionate about his food and the experience there. He did not disappoint. The patio had ambiance. The band was engaging and talented. The moment we stepped in the door we had the attention of any staff that passed by. A truly magical evening. My favorite dining experience to date. Love the place and the people that work there.
The steak I had was awesome, tender and cooked perfectly medium rare. Everyone else's mjeal was great too. Kudos to the chef there.
The Standard is a rare find, with a wonderful menu, a relaxing and intimate patio, with great service and fair prices. This is a place you want to make your regular but it was such an amazing experience that selfishly you want to keep it to yourself. We will be back!
The food is amazing and the portions are big. The patio is beautiful. It’s pricey but it’s worth the splurge.
The service was outstanding and the food was beyond category. My wife and I will be back. I would love to give the food and service 7 or 8 stars!!
Tried the shrimp ravioli for the first time....wow!!! Big, succulent shrimp in a delicious brown sauce over mushrooms in a lovely pocket of yummy pasta. Delish! My husband had the Blacken swordfish- he loved it. He really enjoyed the citrusy, peppery flavor of it all. Just super he said. And it was so relaxing to be out on the nice patio with great music playing in the background. We’d move in if we could. :)
Everything was wonderful especially Raspberry Bee’s Knees.
As always, the food, ambience and service was excellent. The patio is absolutely gorgeous. Said certainly has an eye for design and a green thumb.
Absolutely a beautiful place. The food was fantastic & the staff were so friendly. The chef comes out to talk with all the customers making sure everyone is having a good time. We went to hear the live jazz band they had playing on their beautiful patio & it was perfect. You feel like you’re in the chef’s home & not at a restaurant which is so different than many of the other restaurants in Cleveland. I will be going back again.
The shortribs were WONDERFUL, as well as the eggplant appetizer. Service was fabulous - thank you Liz! Top notch all the way around, as always! Will look forward to returning to try more things from the menu. A lovely evening... ;)
We love this restaurant! Dining on the back patio is a must do
Always a wonderful experience. Great food & tremendous staff & maintaining all proper procedures for Covid guidelines.
Great food, great service Would recommend this place.
