Chef Evan Campbell has created a seasonal menu with small and large plates featuring seafood, meats and duck, as well as vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free options.
Please note, as we are often fully seated, we can only hold a reservation for 15 minutes should you run late. Due to a high number of last minute cancelations, parties of 6 or more will require a credit card to hold the reservation on Friday and Saturday nights.
Please contact us directly for large parties and to speak about our private dining and special event options.
Everything was fantastic!!! Our server Catherine was the Best!!!! Food outstanding, everything was perfect ! Can’t wait to go back!!
Great service, lovely atmosphere, and incredible food! The portions were perfect to enjoy an appetizer, entree, and split a dessert
This place is a hidden gem! What a creative menu when so many seem like the same thing over and over again these days. Really really appreciated the gluten free demarkations on the menu and my custom mocktail! Outstanding. My partner got the special - rabbit with homemade pasta and black garlic and mushrooms - incredible! Can't wait to go back!
Good food good mood
Had a great experience on Valentine’s Day. This was my second time dining at The Sables and it did not disappoint. Can’t wait to return. Love the lamb lollipops
First time for brunch, but have been there many times for dinner. The brunch menu was outstanding and my food was too.
Fabulous brunch. The 6 of us had a small private room, perfect for gabbing. All dishes looked spectacular with taste to match. Wonderful service. Try the loaded Bloody Mary (bacon, shrimp, pickled okra...) for an amazing treat.
Excellent food and excellent service!!!! I would highly recommend this restaurant!
Excellent! Every dish is delicious! Chef and staff are wonderful!
Delicious food, thoughtful staff. Highly recommended.
Everyone enjoyed their dinners. Waiter was very attentive. Never felt rushed even as the restaurant became crowded.
The food was excellent and due to the size of our party they put us in their private room which was super kind of them. It was an absolute blast and I look forward to joining them again for brunch.
Not a bad place but not up to the rating it has online.
Nice atmosphere but cramped. Friendly hosts greeted us and our table was ready when we arrived a few minutes early. The table for two was in a doorway leading to another room and was tucked in so tightly that you couldn’t pull the chair back comfortably from the table (which wasn’t level and rocked).
Very few “specials” that night and the food from the muni was just OK.
It was a pleasant night but not one I would necessarily repeat or suggest to others.
A great find, service, food, flavor, atmosphere all are extraordinary.
Good wine, good food, good service, and the bar and restaurant have a great ambiance.
We love that LA is there now, she is great!! Always one of our favorite restaurants and we love to suggest The Stables to our guests at The One Bed and Breakfast!
Best meal we’ve had in Richmond. Excellent food.
Awesome food and service.
A fun night. Waitress was great!!
FABULOUS in every respect! It was our second visit and we will be back!
Lots of gluten free options on the menu! Thank you!
Had dinner sat. Night and was vert pleased with our food. I had the chicken pot pie and found it best in town. The wife had shrimp and grits, she loved it. Our waiter was great
Made a reservation and ended up with the small private dining room. It was perfect for a group of college friends who were getting together after not seeing each other for a while. Service was great. Food was outstanding. One in the party especially loved the short ribs. I loved the risotto.
Birthday dinner celebration
Great little spot just north of Cary Street. Terrific staff, and great service. Great food. ALWAYS check the specials. Chef came by and chatted with us before and after dinner. In addition to bar seating and the dining room, they also have small side rooms for parties of 6 to 8. Five out of five stars!
Honestly, I don't understand why this place is so overpriced. The food is decent but it definitely didn't blow me away. The service was okay...we are doing a sober January and I feel like the staff was disappointed that we weren't spending money on drinks. I don't know. I'll try this place again, it wasn't bad, just didn't blow me away.
We were very disappointed in our meal. We were squished into a table that was wobbly, the food was so-so, and the restaurant needs a total reconfiguration. I would not go back or recommend.
Evan, the chef, is always coming up with tasty variations on The Stables standard menu items. For example the other night he served the duck with "figgy piggy sprouts," that is, crispy brussel sprouts cooked with lardons of bacon and figs. Really good.
Very good menu with waitstaff which is knowledgeable and friendly.
We frequent The Stables at Belmont. Always high quality, perfectly prepared cocktails and food. Comfortable dining environment for those in jean or tuxedos. If you an open kitchen, be sure to sit at the bar with a delicious cocktail or glass of wine and watch Chef Evan and his team work. The aromas are fantastic. Can't go wrong with any menu offering; however, I highly suggest the lamb lollipops or ciopppino.
Everything was really good. We had the beet salad, duck pate, ravioli and lamb lollipops and the two desserts, bread pudding and chocolate panna cotta. All was really good. We will definitely put The Stables in our restaurant rotation. The staff was great, nice, attentive but not hovering.
Our first visit & we will be back! Appreciated the seating in the quiet wine room. Excellent food & service!
My husband and I love this place. The lamb lollipops are the best! The staff are all very friendly and the service is quick.
Went here for NYE with my husband and it was a perfect romantic dinner. Dim lighting and delicious food and wine!
New Year eve dinner was delish and a great value for appetizer of scallops with collards and polenta, entree of beautiful ribeye steak cooked to perfection AND a crab cake, awesome beet and goat cheese salad, plus a chocolate rasberry dessert. This was our first time dining here. We will definitely be going back to try more of their offerings.
Great place. Very accomadating, home atmosphere Delicious food
What an amazing neighborhood “find”. We just moved into the Fan and made a reservation without much to go on other than the Open Table reviews. We had a marvelous meal. The curry mussels and scallops with a scattering of collards for starters were perfect and only outdone by the main course. The duck with a delicate crust and the sweet potatoes were spectacular and the monk fish was done to perfection. We have lived throughout the U.S. and travel a great deal and are so fortunate to have this gem of a restaurant in our new “backyard”.
Great attentive staff, amazing Chef and wonderful atmosphere come together in total deliciousness !! Go there!
Food preparation and plating was was in the "high quality" range that we look for in a locally owned/cheffed restaurant. Our table was in the bar section and conversation with our guests was stressful to say the least. If we were offered a table in that section on our next visit we'd decline to stay.
Great food and server.
