The service was excellent, the food tasty and well cooked. The cheese board was great and didn’t have a supplement like a lot of restaurants. The staff were friendly and professional, nothing was too much trouble for them. Enjoyed this very much and will return. Looking forward to my daughters wedding in July 2026.

Booked to celebrate Mothers Day - arrived to find the only option was to order from a set menu which was a surprise. Our server was very welcoming and attentive but we all felt that we were rushed through our courses which was uncomfortable.

We were contacted 3 times prior to the reservation date to confirm our dietary requirements, however on the day our server was not aware,which begs the question, why all the phone calls? We were also asked prior how many Mums would be attending on Mothers Day and as a consequence we were expecting a small treat for them, but nothing? The main issue was that the roast lamb was very fatty and one of the plates had to be returned to the kitchen. This meant that one diner was still eating while others had finished. The experience was ok, but could have been better, with all the available restaurants, we would try elsewhere rather than return, which is a shame.

Was very disappointed this time with afternoon tea , we’ve been here a few times before and always had an excellent tea. They were very busy as it was Mother’s Day, with a wedding and meals. They were very sandwiches were not very fresh and when my son asked for another round we were charged but have never been on previous visits, he doesn’t eat sweet things so was only eating sandwiches. The scones were cold and very bland and doughy , Only 2 small pots of jam , we weren’t asked if we wanted a refill of tea so we had to ask when we could find someone. We had the smallest glasses of half filled Prosecco 9.00 a glass. 35.00 per head , with service charge added and one small round of extra sandwiches added to the final bill , did not make it a reasonable price, we have had many afternoon teas in various venues in our area over the last few years. Also it was a lovely warm sunny afternoon but out door seating wasn’t available ( there was a wedding later on in the afternoon but we had left well before it..

We went for a quiet Sunday lunch and were disappointed by the ambiance and social noise. It is very good for families with children who seem to have the run of the restaurant. Food and service were good.
