The experience was luxurious and sumptuous. Food is terrific, and service exemplary. But nothing can beat the ambience of the lobby at the St. Regis. The whole experience was a home run. I would suggest booking a later Tea so that you can see the 6 PM champagne in the lobby as well. My only hesitancy is that the expense is such that it has to be a real treat for me, not a frequent occurrence.

The service and food were amazing. Only problem I had was that the lobby where the tea is was riddled with mosquitoes. I was bitten all over my legs. Since the location can’t be changed, maybe having something to keep the mosquitoes away would be nice. I had tea and so did the mozzies.

I’ve been to St Regis many times for afternoon tea and they never disappoint, until yesterday. We were seated promptly (good). They were quick to get our tea selection (good). They quickly took the table menu. The sweets are different for every visit so we did want the menu to read about them and had to ask if we could hold on to one during the tea. The Savory came out promptly. The roast beef was dry (totally not like them) (we didn’t finish them). The presentation of the savory was beautiful. But then it felt like they forgot about us. (Not good) There was a long gap between the savory and the sweets. Overly long compared to the past. After we received the sweet and desired a refill of the tea and another helping of the clotted cream it took a long time to get anyone’s attention to ask for these curtesies. (Not good) Again we felt forgotten. New to this visit is the Valet Parking rules. You no longer pay at the St Regis desk. Instead you stand in line waiting for someone in a tiny booth to charge the card. The fee for parking was always $25.00. Now it’s $29.50 bc you have to pay the service charge to use your card. I would have liked to have known this to bring cash. Previously using a cc for this transaction did not include getting a service charge. To add insult to it all, the guy said oh it’s over there here is your keys. So for all that money and he could not even bring the car to us, preventing me from having to climb into a narrow space by the bushes, bc my friend drove. Over all my friend and I were very disappointed. Not our best time there.

Tea is served in the opulent atmosphere of the St. Regis Lobby. You can people-watch while savoring savory finger sandwiches and delightful sweets. Of course, you must get a bottle of champagne to accompany your tea, because, why wouldn’t you? Truly a delightful experience. The service, ambiance, and food quality were all outstanding.

Overall a very average experience for a top tier price. Most of the sandwiches and desserts appeared to be premade the night before. Nothing seemed extremely fresh and the scones were actually cold in the middle. I have been to many afternoon tea experiences all over the world and this one is very average. It would not be my choice for a high quality afternoon tea experience.

Very nice - a little overpriced but it’s a beautiful ambience and enjoyable experience overall. It was very cold inside but our waitress was kind enough to get a blanket for my mom.

Great tea and great food. Our favorite place to go for afternoon tea in DMV area. We've tried Ritz and Waldorf as well; St. Regis does it the best!

The cherry blossom afternoon tea was not up to par. It felt like a cash grab rather than an establishment that cares about the expected quality of an afternoon tea. The sandwiches were underwhelming, as were the desserts. They looked great but were not very tasty. The cherry blossom black tea was great, however it was not refreshed.
