   The Squirrel Penn Street is a beautiful country pub restaurant. The food and staff were wonderful. The menu was amazing and there are good garden area to enjoy with or without kiddies

   Very disappointing. Both my partner and I had a roast. I had the chicken and the only thing on the plate that was nice was the Yorkshire pudding. The roast potatoes were clearly the frozen variety and they were literally inedible. I got hardly any chicken and what I did get was really dry. This pub used to do amazing food so I was gutted with this experience especially as dining out with 2 young children is a rare occurrence and it was for my partner's birthday

   Sunday lunch with my son. Both had roast dinner. Food and service very good. Nice inside table. A lot busier this week but again had a great experience. Great local pub in stunning location.

   Excellent experience. Lovely welcome and friendly staff. Good food and service was friendly. Good menu. Good with children. Dog friendly. Lovely meal and ambience.    Fantastic Sunday lunch couldn’t ask for anything else! Wonderful roast pork, chicken and beef. Great side of cauliflower cheese. Will definitely return.

   We found The Squirrel by chance after visiting Hughenden. A real gem and deservedly popular. Made to feel genuinely welcome. Attentive service. We only wanted a snack but these were freshly made, substantial portions and extremely tasty. Would definitely recommend and will go again if we're in the area. Just wished we had a dog with us as it is outstandingly 'dog friendly'
