The Springwood can be summed up effectively as a neighborhood restaurant, whose values, regarding the menu, focus greatly on locally sourced ingredients, hyper-seasonality, regenerative farming practices and minimizing waste.

The restaurant is the brainchild of local entrepreneurs Matthew Simpson (Chef) and Jasmine Lee (General Manager). Partners in business and in life since 2007.

To further their knowledge of the Hospitality industry they made their way to Downtown Toronto, where they were able to hone their crafts working in upscale and well-known restaurants for nine years. The end goal was always assured though, that they would come back to the town that gave them their start and help bring a special space to the place that they grew up.

As you make your way inside, you will be met with warm wood, lush plant life and funky art deco accents. We want this space to feel as though you are stepping into our home and we welcome you all to Come Over for Dinner.

What an amazing celebration in the perfect setting! Every attention to detail was noted and appreciated! Five star dining in an intimate setting!!

Another amazing visit to this Whitby Gem, there aren't many restaurants in Durham that have you extremely excited the day before you go to dinner. Springwood is 100% one of those places. The staff explain the menu, service is 2nd to none, and we haven't even gotten into the amazing food. EVERY dish is spectacular, whether you are looking for seafood, vegetarian, and a perfectly cooked steak. This place is a MUST TRY!

Wonderful meal with interesting menu choices and excellent quality. It is expensive but worth the price if you want to celebrate a special occasaion.

After hearing a lot about The Springwood, we finally made it there for an anniversary dinner. It lived up to everything positive we had heard. We had the 4 course tasting menu and had totake some home with us as the portions were generous. They started us off with an amuse bouche of liver mouse on buckwheat waffles with blueberry jam and edible flowers. It was perfect in every way. Next we moved onto a mixed salad and beef tartare with sourdough. The main course was a shawarma crusted pork chop, roasted turnips, and fries with a mustard aioli. Finally, we finished with tahini semifreddo on with pistachio, rose petal, and sour cherry. Top to bottom it was an outstanding experience with excellent hospitality, timely service throughout, and a level of cuisine that is needed in the suburbs. Could not recommend The Springwood more!

Food and service was first class! My wife and I received 5 star downtown experience in small suburban restaurant. We have already made reservations to return!
