   It was closed! Despite the system allowing me to book a table, when we arrived there was a sign stuck to the door saying 'closed until further notice'. Would have expected to have been told to avoid a wasted journey.

   Booked online, arrived promptly, NO CHEF! no one had bothered to check the online system! As we had taken a taxi there we were VERY disappointed to say the least! Won’t try again.

   Arrived for our meal to be told kitchen was closed due to staff calling in sick following a heavy previous night

   Service was lovely. We originally went to eat. Was disappointed as we booked a table just Incase it was busy. Food was advertised to stop serving at 7. Arrived for 6 to find out they had already stopped serving. So then had to find somewhere else to eat. Pointless advertising service times and offers to then stop serving food early.

   We booked a table for 7.15 as we both work .. when we arrived we were told they stop serving food at 7 .. the website booking page does not mention this as we were offered numerous times after 7 pm

   We visited the spread eagle for lunch which we had booked the day before. We arrived early so we could have a Drink prior to dining. The bar staff were very efficient and we were served immediately and then shown to our table. We were seated and our little girl was given a little goodie bag which contained crayons , a pocket size colouring puzzle book and a little yo-yo kept her entertained, while we looked at the he menu and ordered our food. The menu isn’t extensive but we knew what we wanted straight away as we had seen it and he previous week when we called in for a drink when walked the dogs. The starters carrot and coriander soup and Pate arrived in a timely manner. Very well presented, and all tasted great ,enough butter and bread for both The mains were, roast beef , arrived with plenty of good lean beef Yorkshire pudding with three fresh veg, mash and roast potatoes and gravy , Horseradish sauce also brought out. All very hot and well served. My partner had fish and chips which he said was lovely. We didn’t have a desert. The food was very good and very reasonably priced. The pub and dining area was very quiet which was a shame it should be full every week because of the quality and prices of the food.
