The Spotted Dog
Excellent service, very friendly staff, and they love dogs (outdoor seating of course). The brunch is a great deal if you don’t want to get too boozy, an entree comes with a drink of choice.
Great place to meet and have a very good meal. Service was great and surprised the one fella ran the bar and waited 6-8 tables alone during lunch hour - but her did a great job!
Perfectly cooked omelet and great Bloody Mary
Chicken parm sticks were delicious. The drinks weren’t good at all. The fried chicken sandwich tasted odd. The burger was just okay nothing to phone home about. The waitress was very sweet and accommodating.
We sat in the dining area which is quieter than bar area. Good burgers. Only criticism is that lighting is too dark. Had to use iPhone flashlight to read menu. Also women’s restroom too dark
Casual place for brunch. Nice menu. Service very good.
Service was a little slow, but the food was priced well for brunch, and they have a free drink with brunch deal
The Spotted Dog was Great for Happy Hours & Dinner with friends. Service was fantastic and food was surprisingly delicious since we didn’t expect much from a bar/ restaurant. It was beyond our expectation and we would definitely go back again.
Probably a good spot for happy hour. Bad choice for lunch as bartender waits tables, incredibly slow service, and most activity was day drinkers
Really good brunch menu, the French toast and the breakfast burrito were amazing. Staff were friendly and attentive, we will be returning!
We've eaten at the The Spotted Dog many times as it is right in our neighborhood. We've had many good visits, but lately have found the service lacking. We have a toddler and while previously there was a children's menu and the staff made us feel welcome, things have changed. When we asked for a children's menu we were told that was not offered at brunch (I don't understand why, brunch seems like a meal where there would be more families?). All we wanted was a simple cheeseburger for our son and we were told it could not be done. Avocado toast unfortunately now seems to come on stale sandwich bread (previously really good!) Needed to ask to order for our child, ask to order for adults, then, ask for the bill, etc. While it's probably still fine for adults unfortunately I wouldn't recommend it for families anymore. It's a shame, we really liked visiting before.
They had a great lunch menu online but when we got there we could only order off the brunch menu. The food was good but the menu was very limited.
Great for a local brunch spot. Mimosas included with tasty egg dishes for both vegetarians and omnivores.
Great spot to meet up with friends for drinks. Food was good too.
Great family place , good food , good service and friendly staff
The waiter never came to take our order. After sitting for 20 Mims, we walked out.
Went for brunch. It has a good range of classic brunch options like eggs, breakfast burrito, french toast and waffles. All brunch and lunch options come with a complimentary cocktail or coffee/tea/juice so it's good value!
Overall a great value for brunch. Omelette was tasty. French toast good. Tomato scramble worth it. Breakfast burrito wasn’t warm. I loved the space and the service. You can pay a lot more in Manhattan & be disappointed in the food.
The food was really tasty & we enjoyed our dishes but nothing to write home about or a 'must have again'. The blueberry Nutella pancakes were definitely enjoyed by all. The bananas for the French toast were not ready on time so the dish was comp-ed by service.
We were there soon after opening and the restaurant floor still smelled very chemically from cleaning supplies.
Great attentive service. Fresh, well prepared food. Reasonable prices. What else could you want from a bar and grill on the Upper East Side of Manhattan.
Had a nice brunch at the spotted dog. Prices were very reasonable. The eggs Benedict and avocado toast were excellent. A nice neighborhood restaurant.
My medium rare burger arrived medium well.
The bathroom was disgustingly dirty and smelled like sewage.
It was very uncomfortable to eat brunch on an extremely hot environment. We asked for the AC to be turned on but they opened the windows which made things even worse as the weather outside was hot and humid.
The chicken parm sticks appetizer weren’t what we expected, didn’t seem have enough chicken in them. But overall a great value and a favorite spot for me in NYC and will be back again soon.
It took 15 minutes to find the person in charge of reservations. She said our table was taken and they were looking for another. Another 10 minutes passed nobody came so we left.
So this restaurant has the exact same menu as The Milton. We had been to the Milton the previous day for brunch so when we came to the Spotted Pig next day, we were quite surprised to see the exact same menu! So we left and went next door to the Irish pub. Staff was nice though, they greeted us when we came and I explained why we were leaving and they were still nice. Place is cosy.
Great place for a family brunch where they accommodated 10 of us outside in the summer! Tables were all set for us before we arrived, making it feel so nice as some arrived early. Wonderful service.
The brunch was very disappointing. Tiny portion of pancakes and the griddle eggs were kind of blah. Expensive brunch for such low quality and quantity food.
This pub is way above grub level. Everything is SO GOOD from the house hot dog — which is like a chili dog but with melt-in-your-mouth brisket spread over the top — to the sweet fish and chips with malted vinegar mayo. Plus everyone is SO NICE and accommodating you feel like you dropped into a friend's house for dinner. The cocktails are excellent, too, and there's a good selection of beer and wine as well. Definitely recommended.
We've eaten here quite a few times and the food is always great!
They've now added more selections and we loved the scrambled egg sandwich with cheddar cheese. We got avocado on the side instead of meat. Loved it!
Good spot with solid bartender, Nice beer selections and good bar food.
Nice local pub - friendly service - good and plentiful portions.
Good overall place to eat. The waitress was very attentive to our needs. The food was good.
Nice ambience. Chill out place
Food was good. Lined their pancakes
It is always a struggle to find a place for a business lunch where you can easily hear each other and not be rushed by the staff want8ng to turn over the table. When leaving my business partner joked with me that I can't have every business lunch at The Spotted Dog. We are going to try. It really is awesome for business lunches. Best business lunch I have had in the last 3 years in Manhattan.
Visiting family in NYC (Upper East Side). Made a reservation on a Thursday night and found it to be very quiet. The atmosphere was amazing (if you like country chic), the cocktails/wine excellent and food phenomenal. I'm not normally one to finish my meal but it was so delicious, I had to. The only downside was our waitress. She seemed very, very inexperienced. She got our orders all correct and was timely; she just lacked polish and knowledge of the restaurant and menu. To be kind, she may have been brand new or called in at the last minute. My family and I would go there again in a heartbeat!
Small portions that are overpriced. The service was very good though
As a big fan of The Milton, I wanted to check out this new "little sister" restaurant. So glad I did. Some of my favorite dishes like the crispy roast chicken and the mind-blowing cottage pie have made the trip downtown. They've been joined by the eponymous "dog" which is "spotted" with braised short rib plus a few great culinary twists like an Irish burrito. The bartending skills have been transferred as well. The middle room is a bit too "lively" for my taste, so I prefer the slightly more sedate backroom. But with such a kind staff, a good time is guaranteed no matter where you sit.
Comfortable outdoor eating, delicious food and attentive service in spite of every table taken. Would definitely return.
very dark but our waitress turned up the lights so we could try to read the menu. very noisy but there was a sports TV show on in the back area.
$15 for a glass of red wine seemed steep but it was still too dark to read the menu so msybe the menu really did say $15 for house red.
ladies room is for very skinny people. watch out... the floor slants as soon as you enter.
