The Sportsbar LIVE! At Rogers Arena Ratings and Reviews
This was the second time I have eaten there before a Canucks game. The first time we parked underneath Rogers Arena. This time we were told, by the parking attendant, that guests of the Sportsbar were no longer permitted to park under Rogers Arena prior to hockey game without a permit. There was no mention of this change on the web site for the restaurant. Also, and I know its before a hockey game, but they jammed way too many people into the space. Frankly I think it was beyond fire code that night. We had a table, which are already packed in there tightly. Then there were dozens and dozens of people standing around as well. It difficult to even move. The food was good and the TV's are great. Service was ok but a little slow. I think the volume of people was the problem. When servers cant get through the crowds to place orders, and pick up drinks and food, its going to slow everything down. Also when I asked what time the doors to Rogers Arena opened so that we could get to our seats the server said she had no idea. Strange answer based on the venue? Not trying to be negative because the food and drinks were good and the environment is great. Just some tweaks needed I think.
We really enjoyed the evening, food was tasty and very well presented and our server was lively, friendly, and energetic. Entrance into the bar is always a problem on game days as the lines can be a bit of a pain, but once past the metal detector and into the venue, everything was fantastic.
We've been here a few times, and unfortunately, were not impressed this night.
We were there for a pre-Canucks game meal, and the music was SO LOUD, it was hard to carry on a conversation.
The food was mediocre tasting...they can do much better.
Service was great as usual, kudos to the servers who really go out of their way to help you and are super friendly.
Not sure we'll go back; there are some great restaurants close to Rogers Arena that have much better food, and ambiance.
Restaurant had no record of my Open Table reservation. Showed them the reservation confirmation for 4 on my phone after waiting for them to discuss, and then reluctantly taken to a table for 2.
Host came back and asked to look at my phone, and then said "the reservation on your phone doesn't have your name on it." as if somehow I was trying to trick or scam somehow????
Brought to a table for 4 by a frustrated employee with a rude, "sit here for now"
Not sure if it was an Open Table error or a restaurant error, but it certainly was not mine and we were embarrassed and treated poorly as a result.
We were concerned about how crazy Vancouver was going to be for us getting to the Roger Waters Show as there was a Whitecaps game and Cirque DeSoleil on the same evening. I had received an add for this Sportsbar and that they validate the parking in the Garage below the event! This made the most sense as My 80 year old dad who was coming with us is having a hard time getting around. So we made a res for 6:30pm and had no trouble getting in to the parking spot where the Parking Supervisor escorted Dad, My Bro, and Me to a service elevator which brought us right to the party room of the Sports Bar where we were escorted by a supermodel to our table. At the table we had full view of all of the important games that were on - the Dodgers, Whitecaps, Sunday Night Football. We were predicting overpriced stadium food and drinks on the menu but were surprised to see a larger than expected variety of food and booze. We had beers, appies, my bro had the salmon and me and pops had the country fried chicken and 1/2 rack of ribs - it was all glorious! And Reasonably priced! The bill came to $150.00 then the $30 parking validation came off the top! After paying one of the many other supermodels for the meal we were escorted again to the service elevator and brought to the right level for the show. After the show we hit the elevator again and once in the parkade we could "B" line right to the car and we were on the road before most people could even see their cars. I would not hesitate in using the same game plan again. Thanks Very Much!!
Although I had a reservation we were escorted through the main restaurant area , along a very long hallway into a fairly plain space with stools to sit on close to the open ice view. I complained about no back support stools so got them switched to very low back stools which were better. I didn’t realize how cold it would get over dinner - freezing by end! Food was a little pricey but good - especially the giant pan cookie with ice cream & chocolate sauce. I would not go back unless I was guaranteed the main dining room seating.
Reservation = a table for 1 which put me at the bar with the server station at my left side and 2 reserved stools to my right finally occupied by a couple.
3 times I was pushed or hit by people behind me. My eating area was the width of my body.
I ordered my beverage and meal. The bartender was good. The wine was good. The servers were having trouble with other servers taking their drink orders. I felt bad for them. There should be a better system in place to avoid that. I saw what I presumed was my meal go back and forth up and down the entire length of the bar a couple of times. Finally the server asked me if I ordered this. I told him I saw him try to give it to many people up and down the bar; I asked if it was ok, if it was now cold. He said why didn't I stop him and tell him that was for me. I said 'how was I to know that someone else didn't order the same?' He apologized for the miscommunication. He assured me it wasn't cold, which it wasn't but i was skeptical. In order to cut my food my elbows were tight against my sides due to lack of room at my assigned seat. I dined, paid the bill and left for the concert. I like the fact that you can park and have it removed from your meal cost, and you received 2 bills so knowing what to tip. I like the fact you can enter the arena from the restaurant. I would be better to be with a few more people at a real table.
Food surprisingly upscale for a sports bar. Great menu and our food was delicious. Great service and attention to us. So many TV screens but only playing one sports game. Maybe have different games being played? Felt a bit like dining at a showroom for selling TVS.
