Farm-to-table concept with a focus on local line and spear-caught seafood. We are the first cider and mead based restaurant in South Florida, with an additional focus on our new craft cocktail bar. Everything is made in house with our home cooked recipes; from smoking our own fish dip, making our own sauces (even our ketchup!), slow cooking our gator ribs, to baking our key lime pie. We have a beautiful outside patio area, a passion for above and beyond service, and encourage you to bring your furry friends! (check out our doggy menu!)
Waited 20 minutes for our coffee, it was delivered cold. We asked for French toast with syrup on the side well guess what syrup was all over them the eggs were not cooked whites were mostly clear and runny. We brought both issues up to our server received nothing but attitude and no timely resolution.
We were the first party seated for brunch and others were served long before us after checking what was taking so long. After several issues the orders not cooked or not correct we decided to pay for our cold coffee and cappuccino and leave.
Last chapter took 10 minutes to get our bill, and I had to go chase it. The place was not busy at all now we know why! So the spillover spilled on delivering. Don’t waste your time going there.
Perhaps the best whole fish I’ve ever had.
Great food and amazing service from Christine. Can't wait to go back!
Great food, super cute decor, awesome happy hour selections, convenient parking!
However, the service was painfully slow!
Great food and attentive staff
We love this gem! The food selection, the draft beers, the service - is all great. We'll be back!
Great except very hot outside should consider fans for outside seating.
Unusual menu. Everything we had was delicious. Louis our waiter was excellent- had been there about a month or so. Loved his energy. The lady who made our drinks came over to introduce herself- she was super nice.
Music was too loud- the host wasn’t welcoming at all.
Had a great meal on the patio. The brussel sprouts with bacon were delicious!
Way to o loud!!!! Service was good, food and presentation mediocre. Food at Kush, sister restaurant, is better. Ordered chicken entree, terrible, could not finish it.
It has a great menu for brunch, lunch or dinner! Great drinks, too!
Food is always good. Great quality. Never disappoints.
Flew through with a colleague and had a fantastic dinner. The waitress was wonderful and service excellent. Had the fish tacos and minke gin and tonic.
The smallest food portions for happy hour service very slow.
Spillover is a great place to eat and unwind. The food is great and the service is always excellent. Love this place.
Great staff and amazing food!
Excellent Gator Ribs and Fish Tacos. Very friendly service. A must try in Coral Gables.
Creative, sensibly fried, locally harpooned fish. Nice happy hour beer selection. Helpful servers.
Food is good but very expensive
The fish was perfect so was the corn chowder and mushrooms. Was the 2nd time here in two weeks since the food was so good brought our friends.
The whole snapper was amazing. Server was pleasant, friendly, but mostly let us just enjoy our food. Perfect. We will return!
Crab cake salad was fantastic!
The staff is very friendly. Casual fun atmosphere with a homey feel. The oyster are amazing! Come with horseradish, cocktail sauce and some kind of chopped pickled sardines sauce.
Lunch at the Spillover was exceptional in every manner.
Having seen the review on the PBS show check please, previously added it to my to try list and reading reviews on Yelp. I decided on the Spillover for a Saturday afternoon lunch in Coconut with out of town friends. I’m a detailed foodie and also appreciate the importance to a business of an honest review. We started with the smoked fish dip and as simple a dish as this may be, the dip was excellent and the added touch of mini Tabasco bottle and long slices of Fresh Jalapeño was novel. I tried two of both selections of well shucked oysters, they were cold, fresh and very perfectly clean tasting. I had a flight of Mead which was another novelty. My wife and friends had the Redfish in what I believe was in white wine reduction. They raved about the dish, they really know seafood being from a country known as the “The end of the land”. I had Fried Shrimp which were lightly breaded and perfectly cooked to the tooth. Two Desserts were shared Key Lime Pie and Guava Bread pudding. Both were excellent with the Guava being the sweeter of the two. Coffee choices were abundant and we had 3 Ameicano’s and one espresso. I was impressed enough to ask what coffee they used and our incredibly attentive server Elena brought out a bag for us to see. We ordered a 2nd round.
The staff is so friendly and well prepared that we felt as if we were at a friends home, and I believe we were.
The staff, food and totality of the experience was as nice one could hope. The decor is Kitsch Rustic but comfortable.
An added touch was a mural which included a former classmate Steven Bauer( Known as Rocky Escheveira before Hollywood) who went on to appear in Scarface and more currently Ray Donovan. Bob Appetit!
Buffalo cauliflower,Jambalaya and fish tacos are superb. Our dog seemed to love the meatball dog meal too! Musicians on Friday were fun
We had a delightful dinner at this Grove favorite. The whole fried snapper, which my husband and I split, was totally delicious. It was a nice meaty fish with a flavorful Asian glaze. We got some grilled corn on the cob as a side and our dinner was complete. We also started our meal with a shared heirloom tomato and feta salad. That salad was very large and was perfect for us to split too. All in all, service is good with servers taking care of more than their "area" if there a customer needs something. We did eat outside which is why the noise level was not a problem.
Food amazing and service spot on
Friendly staff and the food is great! It was my first time there and I will go back.
The service and food were great! We had the Grouper Reuben.
Amazing food and such great service. Cute venue!
Overall very good. Not enough space for a larger group of 5 or more.
We have eaten here many times and love the food. The crab cakes are amazing with a lot of crab. My husband’s favorite is the jambalaya over zucchini noodles.
Food is delicious and the service is always superb. Couldn’t have been happier with our experience.
My 4th time visiting the Spillover and I am never disappointed! We had brunch for Father’s Day, and my entire family also loved it. Love this spot! Great food and drinks, fun ambiance and wonderful service. Everything you want and need from a restaurant. Looking forward to many more meals here!
Very good service.
This was so good we went there two days in a row. Great outdoor venue and pet friendly even with a pet menu. The dogs loved the meatball dish.
Our waiter was great. Everything he recommended was amazing.
Great spot with a good vibe. Was there for lunch on a weekday and place was not busy so not noisy either. They have a mostly fish/seafood themed menu with everything from fish tacos to lobster rice. I enjoyed my fish and sticks and my companion had the fish tacos (2). Both were excellent. Good cocktail/wine/beer/mead menu and very relaxed, comfortable decor. Will go back for dinner or happy hour sometime. Due to nearby construction parking on the street can be difficult but huge parking lot (Mayfair) underground. Our server was very pleasant, helpful and professional. They have seating for about 35 inside and some outdoor seating as well.
We went for $20 lobster Tuesday - always delicious!! The service is always super friendly as well.
