We really enjoyed our meals. They food was well prepared and served nicely. The Sunday night special was a nice bonus (3 course meal for $25). We liked all our meals and desserts, except for the Key Lime Pie where the crust did not stick together. When mentioned to the waitress she removed it from our bill which was nice. All of our servers were very nice and attentive to our needs.
We definitely plan to go back.
The food was good but overpriced. The fish is very fresh but my meal was not hot.
Bar area and service were top notch, main dining wait staff were below expectations.
Always have loved the Sole. Food is outstanding. Service is outstanding. Drink selections are perfect. Just one gripe. Always overbooked with lots of noise & people @ the entrance. Spread the reservations out just a bit. The quality is too great to make it a cattle rush @ the door.
Overall I have always been pleased with the Sole. My favorite place to eat, upscale to be certain on the pricing but I'm always happy with the value and have never had a bad meal or experience there. Love the oysters.
Food and service were awesome. Everything timed to perfection.
We stopped by the Sole for sushi, chowder, and steamers before heading to another event, so it was more appetizers than dinner for this trip. The food, as always, is excellent and the waitstaff was very attentive. My wife was especially delighted at how seriously they took her gluten intolerance--not only is there a special GF menu, but the waiter brought over GF soy sauce for the sushi. The parking was surprisingly tight at 4:30pm (there was an attendant but she did not appear to be doing anything). And the only other downside of our quick trip to the Sole is no surprise: the place is not expensive. Even a couple of sushi orders, chowder, and steamers will run you big bucks. Nevertheless an excellent restaurant and a fine experience.
We all had an awesome time. The food was great and our waitress Tara was awesome.
The restaurant was noisy and I have had better seafood elsewhere
This was one of many visits my husband and I have made to The Sole. Always go there when we want fresh seafood. We found the food on this visit not as outstanding as meals we have had in the past. Our meals were good, but not great and the noise level was particularly loud. However, we will still frequent the restaurant and would recommend it to friends.
Got the Shogan sushi platter. Rice was dry and cold. Looks to pre-made. If you want sushi this is not the place. Other fish dishes we had in the past were great.
It's always great food and good service! The food is great, and the bar menu is a nice, smaller sized delicious meal.
Our server (Yuri) and his partner were attentive, knew the menu well, and were very pleasant. The food is expensive which makes it (for a family meal) not a once a week kind of establishment but absolutely great for a special occasion. Of course if it's date night with just my husband and I, that's another story! The food is delicious and fresh and if you're a seafood eater, you'll love it. If you're not, your choices are somewhat limited... but there are a couple of non-fish items.
The Sole never disappoints!!!! Whether you get the seafood or the steak, every morsel is delicious. Friendly and courteous staff, great ambience, and a delicious meal under on roof.
Good food and service. What more can you ask for?
This is BY FAR the best seafood restaurant west of I 95. Service is excellent; parking is easy and convenient; quality and variety of the food is superior. Can't recommend highly enough.
Very good sushi and good lobster
We enjoyed ourselves very much, the food was great, atmosphere was very nice. Looking forward to coming again
The food was delicious! Staff was friendly and very knowledgeable able the menu. We will be back.
Going to the Sole for over 5 years now for a monthly lunch with the girls. Everything is always exceptional. I need to give kudos to the hostess employees. They know our special requests without us even asking. We have our regular table and they always greet us with a warm reception. Just another reason we love the Sole.
One of my favorite seafood restaurants in the US. I consult and travel all over. I always make it a point to eat at The Sole Proprietor if anywhere near Worcester. Excellent local seafood, service and atmosphere.
We have been to Sole previously, and were once again pleased with the experience. We arrived approximately 15 minutes early of our reservation. Within two minutes of checking in at reception we were being seated. The host actually apologized for the "wait". Then we were promptly greeted by our waiter who informed us of the evening specials, took our drink and appetizer orders. Main course was presented in a timely fashion, and my wife and myself were completely pleased with our choices. Highly recommend the Seared Tuna Shashimi. We will continue to visit the Sole when we desire a high quality dining experience.
- extremely expensive for really average food that you can get anywhere in a decent place.
Sole Propietor is a great place for seafood and more. Cocktails were amazing and wait Staff just right. Not to in your face and there when you need them. A plus!
Always great food and service. A real New England value.
Best Seafood Restaurant in Central Massachusetts!!! I have been going to Sole Proprietor for over 10+ years. I use the restaurant for all type of occasions, personal, business and special occasions. Most important attributes about Sole is (1) food, (2) pricing, (3) atmosphere and reasonable location. The sushi offering can compete directly with Japanese Restaurants. Adding to all these... the service is always great... maybe I should have added as first item.
Please keep up the excellent work.
We have been to the sole proprietor before and this was by far the worst experience we've had. Our servers we not attentive the food was just ok. The soup was cold, the lobster came out but we had to ask for butter which came out in a coffe cup? My stuffed shrimp was barely cooked. I'm hoping this was just an isolated incident and not the norm. We will try again hoping for a better experience
I haven't been to the Sole in a while---it was a pleasure to return. My friend and I both had the seafood saute---it was a generous assortment of shellfih and fish in a delicious sauce. The wine list is very good. This is definitely a 'go to' if you're looking for a good seafood restaurant!
For the price the food was disappointing. Service was very good. I don't think we will be returning. I've had better at two thirds the price at Prezzo and the Resoi. Desserts too expensive : overall rating -eh!
Wonderful way to ring in the new year! The restaurant was lively without being noisy.
Wait staff was attentive which is difficult to do on a busy night! We enjoyed a nice romantic evening.
Lovely evening at The Sole! Great food and nice ambiance for a special night out.
Food is great. Very nice for a special occasion or a date. Our two waitresses were as cute as ever and very happy and accommodating. We enjoyed our experience very much.
My sister was visiting from California so we wanted to have some good New England seafood. We made a reservation the day before our visit and we were seated immediately upon our arrival. The food was served in a timely manner. I appreciated that all of the staff worked together to make sure we were enjoying our meal, not just our server. The food was excellent, the atmosphere was excellent...it was a great experience.
Dinner was very good. It would be nice to see a menu change soon. I have made numerous visits to The Sole, the menu never changes.
Food and service were excellent! Lunch crowd a bit loud at holiday season.
The Sole is always outstanding and it did not disappoint. We were there on a very stormy evening and there were still a lot of people there. My family always wants to go there for special occasions and it does not take much to convince me to pick it!
The food was great as expected, but the service was exceptional! Beth and Santana made my daughter's birthday dinner memorable.
Sole Proprietor used to be our "go-to" seafood restaurant. Last two times were are complete disappointment. Baked food was oily and sushi was some of the worst I've had. Comparable to day old Sushi from a grocery store. The Shogun platter was once one of my favorites; couldn't recommend it now. Unfortunately, given our last two experiences (LONG-time customer) I won't be back.
Good service, good food......always consistent.
We had reservations for 4 before "The Christmas Carol" musical at the Hanover Theater. Such a nice festive atmosphere at the Sole Proprietor for our annual Christmas gift to my Mom. I think this is our 4th year in a row now! We always ending up taking some food home and always leave fully satisfied! Thank you for another joyful and delicious dinner!
