One of the most unique bars in Ayr, The Smoking Goat is a tucked away spot decked out with comfy booths and cave-like walls. From historical interiors and gin cocktails to the newly upgraded outdoor terrace, this is a pretty special place to spend your evening. A basement bar with a lazy feel, its comfy seating is perfectly suited to its music policy. Amazing food and drinks. The only slight negative comment to give is we noted “30th Birthday” when booking and expected one of the nicer tables, going by what our friends who have been many times before had told us. The table we were sat at in the centre was a bit tight for space and rocking about- had not been myself before but had been highly recommended by friends, probably my own fault for not asking specifically re the seating/table requirements but just presumed stating 30th would have been enough. That being said, the food was lovely as well as the drinks and we would definitely return!

Love this place, we're from North Wales & every time we're working in Ayr we 'must' come here - 4 times over last 18 months. Love the fact it's cosy, not large - a converted bank cellar, stone walls, quirky rooms, outside garden / terrace. Staff just the right level of attentive - check regularly if another drink is needed, even if a busy evening. Cocktails & food excellent & reasonably priced. I always book online & they always manage to decipher my description of 'our' table. One visit was live music night - acoustic guitar on that occasion & enjoyed. A definite must to visit if in Ayr!

Staff lovely, place was nice and cosy, big table of 12 of us. Food good although this was the 2nd time ordering Cajun loaded fries and they were different from first time not quite as good as 1st time but still tasty enough. Probably the best tempura I've tried in a while. Will definitely be back again, becoming a new favorite in ayr.

Wonderful little gem of a place. Great atmosphere, wonderful friendly staff and lovely food and drinks at a reasonable price. We had a lovely evening here whilst on holiday and will certainly return next time we visit Ayr.

We thoroughly enjoyed our food but we did wait 1hr for it, but I understand the bar was very busy. The table next to us were offered a complimentary drink for their wait, we weren’t which would have been a nice touch.

Came in for a date night with my partner however with it being Friday night it was really quite busy and noisy 🙃 the service was great aswell we had visited through the week and decided to come back. Only thing I can fault was my burgers were still quite pink inside which I'm not overly keen on. Will defo be back but will say to cook my burger a little longer next time 👍

We were sat I front of thd hugt TV screen, and next to the open door to the outside area, and very close to the people at the next table. There were other better situated tables we could have been sat at as I had booked in advance. My pizza was a bit disappointing, chicken and haggis special.....very dry chewy chicken. No point complaining as I would have had no food while the others ate. I've had much better experiences in this bar previously. Nice staff though.
