Walked in the door and could smell we were in for a great evening. Service, food, ambiance was wonderful. Highly recommend the turkey breast and brisket combo. Definitely a place to revisit.
The service is spectacular and food is so delicious!!
Great place. Go tonight. Do not wait.
Good spot before a game at stadium with parking available. Great atmosphere
Awesome food and service. Outside dining is available if the live music is too loud
Ordered the pick 2 brisket and pork belly. They were tough and seemed to be old. They were out of ginger beer and the ginger ale was flat. My wife ordered the ribs and she had similar comments about the quality of the meat. The ribs were definitely not falling off the bone. Since it was a slow day I assumed the meat was left over from Sunday. The server recommended the macaroni and cheese..said it was “a must have” but it was baked.tasted like Kraft box with real cheese added and then torched on the to top to give it a baked look. I took the meat home and gave it to Lola our pitbull.
We booked Smoke Ring for a birthday party & had a large-ish group of 13. (Allowed us to bring our own cake.) The service was great from the minute we arrived. Some really unique drink options. They had a limited drink menu that night for some reason, but the server was able to still get us some drinks we'd seen on the online menu. Everyone liked all the drinks. Food was so, so good. First time I've ever had ribs that didn't need sauce. Yum! Same with chicken. The restaurant itself was cozy with cool decor. And it wasn't so noisy that we couldn't hear each other speak. Only downside & reason for 4 stars was that they were out of 2 sides that half the table had planned to order (brussels sprouts & garlic mashed potatoes). We all said we want to go back. Oh-- and there is a parking deck right next door. Not sure what $$ policy always is but we told the guy we were there to eat & he waved us in at no charge, even though others were paying to park for T Swift concert.
BBQ was great, brews were good, but the host oversat our waiter so the service was a bit slow.
This place is great before a concert or game at Mercedes Benz. There is also a parking deck right at it and then you can walk to your event! Food was great and everyone was friendly
We had an RSVP for 10-12 people in which we only needed 9 seats when we arrived. We were sat in the middle of the back wall under the BBQ signs. The server was VERY slow and it took over 30 min to get our drinks out to us. Getting a drink refilled was an additional 10 min wait. We were there at 11:30 AM when they opened (and our RSVP time) and it wasn't busy, at all. There were 3 other tables sat in the first hour we were there, the place was mostly quiet.
When we were at the end of our brunch a very large crowd came in and we were asked, by a different server, to hurry up so they could use the 2 tables to seat the large party. They should have been more prompt in service OR not sat us in an area they knew they needed for that large of a party. It was poorly planned and poorly communicated AND we had a RSVP. There is no reason that the logistics weren't executed correctly to give a great dining experience.
When we finally got our checks half of them were incorrect and had the wrong items listed on them. We even told the server who had which items when we asked for our checks.
My friends and I frequent this place and the last 3 times we have been here the service has gotten slower and more unfriendly. I wasn't pleased with my visit and I will probably look for another go to when we're downtown. :(
BBQ very good, sides just ok. Fall off the bone ribs not for the competitive smoker but what the average person thinks is perfect. Good texture and flavor without need to drench in sauce.
As BBQ joints go, The Smoke Ring was "just ok." The restaurant design, decor, overall ambiance were cool and comfortable. Service was friendly and efficient, but there was not much of a crowd there around lunchtime on the Saturday we stopped in. The food was tasty enough, nothing special, but the portions were much smaller than one would expect when ordering a "barbecue platter" - even at an "upscale" BBQ place. We ordered the 3-meat platter, which came with 2 sides. For $22, I'd expect more than a spoonful of pulled pork (most of which was gooey, inedible fat that we didn't care to eat), two smallish slices of brisket (ok flavor, but texture was on the chewy side), and one thin strip of pork belly (the tastiest of the meat choices we tried). Collard greens (side #1) were kinda bland. The standout of the entire meal was the crispy Brussels sprouts w/ maple glaze (side #2). The beer selection looked good, but we didn't stick around long enough to explore it beyond a single round. Maybe it's the Texas girl in me that is hard to please when it comes to BBQ, but our experience at The Smoke Ring was nothing to write home about. Will try a different place the next time we're looking for BBQ in ATL.
The food was delicious, and amazing service!
Being from Texas I'm a smoked BBQ snob so I couldn't bring myself to order the brisket, but I just might next time.
I got the turkey and half chicken and both were so very juicy and flavorful, and smoked just right. The half chicken should probably be shared (unless you're starving imo), it was soooo much but so good. I barely put a dent in it after eating the turkey
The brussel sprouts were delicious as well and the service was very good. we had a 12 noon reservation so it was fairly empty but as the crowds trickled in, nothing changed.
Definitely added to my list of ATL eateries
Ive been here so much but i brought my church (10) friends. They loved it and asked for us to plan to go later this month!
We visited here while in business from Phoenix. We met up with our friends who traveled in from South Carolina. I chose this spot because of its location to The World Congress Center and most importantly because they take reservations!! Food was great ! Servers were nice ! I would return.
...food was great...i had the pick 2, smoked sausage & smoked turkey w/baked beans & brussel sprouts...meat was super tender, wish beans were better but brussel sprout was DELICIOUS!
It was just ok. We were the first ones there on a Sunday, but the server was struggling to remember who wanted coffee and water. At that time, there was only 5 of us. They didn't have sweet tea (not sure if it wasn't brewed yet or they just don't offer it), but several of us wanted sweet tea. Upon receiving our food, most of our orders were relatively cold, as if they'd been sitting out. I would go again, but it wasn't the best first impression.
Smoke ring is our favorite happy hour location for work, the food is amazing!
Yummy BBQ. Lamb belly was amazing.
I brought my family here to celebrate my graduation. The Fried Green Tomatoes and Fried Pickles were the bomb, okay! Everyone loved their food and the service was amazing!
We had a great meal - the pulled chicken was SO DELICIOUS. The crowd was energetic, and this was a great place to get pumped up before an Atlanta United game!
Went with friends to see a local band. Great BBQ and even better music!
My family and I went for Mother’s Day. I saw the Smoke Ring on TV and wanted to try it. The two items that I wanted were not available and the Mac and cheese that my daughter ordered was given to the table that received their food before us and that was the last of it. I will not be going back to the Smoke Ring.
Not good! Hopefully you can have a better experience! Here are four elements of concern for our visit: 1. Out of Four items selected, basic items which the owner could get at the local grocery to avoid a failure. 2. Live Music, Great Local Band. Too loud to enjoy dinner and share a conversation. Advised owner of our need to go elsewhere if unable to resolve. 3. Music Volume Not resolved but ordered anyway. Outstanding food. Great portion size. The best Beef Brisket in the metro area. Delicious Brussel Sprouts. 4. Server was sweet but lacked knowledge. Offered to come take our order during the moments the band was not performing. Stated, “I am sorry, but I can’t hear you. I will come back during the next break.” Seriously!
Amazing food and atmosphere!!
Went for brunch and was not disappointed. Very good!
In town for business and had to find a BBQ spot for 11 guests. The Smoke Ring sounded great and had wonderful food reviews, but I was concerned about the comments I read about slow service and not very friendly staff members. We arrived and were immediately seated with no wait. Our server was fantastic and very friendly. The food was awesome, some very creative southern dishes that I had never had before. All in all it was a very successful evening for our event. Thank you so much for making it a wonderfully positive experience!
Wish they had regular BBQ sauce. Everyone does not like chipotle taste or too hot sauce. Regular plain BBQ sauce.
Love the food at here my first time and will be returning
Horrible service, mediocre and overpriced food. BBQ sauces were terrible and ruined the meat, coleslaw tastes like vinegar. Unless you’re going to the bar for a drink and to watch the game, skip this place entirely
Visited this restaurant with 9 colleagues. The 'cue was mixed: turkey and chicken were good, pulled pork dry, sausage very dry, and inedible ribs. The ribs were baby backs, and needed at least another 90 minutes in the smoker. They were served with a steak knife, and even with the serrated knife, the ribs were so tough they were nearly impossible to saw through. The surface meat was edible, but anything deeper than 1/2" was too tough to pull off the bone. Four people ordered the ribs, and each of the racks were like this. Sides were OK: mac & cheese good, cornbread dry but tasty, collards bad, as they were sweet, rather than vinegared. Maybe it was an off day, but if you run a pit, you should know how to cook a rack of ribs. Or know not to serve 'em, if they're nasty.
Worst ribs ever. Dry dry dry!
This was on the corner were we airbnb and wanted to eat here before we went back home. Great looking restaurant staff was friendly! Server did bring us 2 different menu with 2 different prices! We took the one with the cheaper price. We did fried pickles and smoked wings as apps. And 4 choice of the lamb pulled chicken brisket and Turkey. With Mac and cheese brussel sprouts waffle fries and red neck caviar which is black beans with corn and Pico de Gallo. Great idea but poor on execution. Tasted sour and very bland! Pulled chicken was very dry only because the breast was used. Turkey was good as well as the lamb. Brisket missed the mark! Looked good but lacked the smoked bbq taste! The beer I had was great it was a local ipa. Over all it was ok! Had better bbq. Server didn't know whay kind of bbq they are doing? To bad!
Great variety for a "bbq spot" and awesome food!
Celebrated daughter’s 20th birthday after Easter services. Food was great! They were likely undertaffed due to Easter, but the staff hustled their butts off and got us out the door to catch a plane. Could not ask for better experience.
Always solid! Owners are great, super friendly. Love coming here!
Great place to hang out in before a game at MB Stadium. The ’Que is fantastic, lots of good craft brews, and the service is friendly and efficient despite the pre-game crowds. I’m there for every Atlanta United game!
