Yummy fries. Server seemed to be quite busy. She forgot about us and someone else provided us with the wrong check. Despite that, we enjoyed the ambiance and politeness of the hostess who seated us where we wanted and seemed to be working diligently.
Our waiter took at least 15 minutes to bring us water when we sat down. The grilled chicken sandwich was SO small, it's a bite-size, nuggets bread. It was still good but I was hoping for a real size sandwich, at least they added a lot of fries to cover this up but still disappointing. I've only been to the smith for drinks, as I know they're good. The bloody Mary did not disappoint but moving forward, I'll just go there for drinks....if I do go back.
Food is good. The server was not friendly, she didn’t have her mask on properly. The worst part was our card was charged twice. The server didn’t even apolgize or even fix the mistake.
Good food. Great service. Reservation and seating process was flawless.
Food, drink, dessert, server, vibes- all GREAT. Will be back!
Wonderful experience and very appreciative of the hospitality!
Servce is always good. Prices reasonabe.food decent.
It was good. I had the kale and quinoa salad with chicken and it was delicious! Always a good time at The Smith
We went for Sunday brunch - love the ambiance and aesthetic at the Smith. The wait staff was attentive, friendly and quick! The Bloody Mary isn’t the best - it’s super thick and very very heavy on the horse radish. I couldn’t really drink it, I only had a few sips. The Smith Benedict tasted good, but one of the eggs was cooked all the way through to a hard yolk, and the other one was undercooked with very runny whites. The English muffin taste was good but was over toasted and too hard to really cut through with ease. The other meal ordered was the ranchero scramble. It was good all around - but the tortillas were just a little too hard. Two items we ordered gets 5 stars; we ordered a side of jalapeño cheese grits, these were to die for. Could have had them as my meal. And I also got a latte - this was phenomenal. Unfortunately they only offered almond milk as a milk substituted, which in allergic to - if usually get coconut milk or oat milk, which they don’t offer, and I was a little surprised about. Since they did t have any milk subs I could drink, I Just ordered it with regular milk, and it tasted fab - was prepared beautifully. Over all probably 3.5-4 star experience.
Food was outstanding - service was lackluster - we will be back and hopefully service will pick up
Cool place that was close to our hotel downtown. Macaroni was delicious but wasn’t too excited about anything else. Waiter wasn’t very attentive but the manager was awesome when we had a few issues with some of the food.
We sat outside and it was safe and food was delicious. They also conduct contact tracing for additional safety precautions. Got Johnny Benedict and Avo Toast which were all amazing!
I am gluten free and they only have GF spaghetti which doesn’t go well as a substitute for a lot of their pasta dishes. I ordered the bucatini and specified no mushrooms due to an allergy. It was served with mushrooms in it.
Love this place. Food is good for all occasions. We had ribeye, Mac and cheese, salad, and of course a ton of drinks. Highly reccomend
Love The Smith!
Service was slow tonight.
Second time here and they did not disappoint. Food and drinks were great. The service was amazing. Our waiter took great care of us. His recommendations were A1. We will continue to support for sure. Portions seemed a little small but once finished we were fulfilled. Noise level is decent; you get a good city vibe from it. Reminded us of NYC.
This was our second time here, the first being Valentines Day. The food was great and we really enjoyed it. I love their chips though ( which was my motivation for coming to be honest)! We’ll definitely be back. I’ll bet it’ll really be nice once the weather is warmer!
Great spot for a casual night out with friends or family! Very friendly and responsive staff. The tables were well distanced and the outdoor seating options were very comfortable.
Great food and service!
Delicious food and the brunch special is a really great deal!
Wonderful food and service! Love that one brunch beverage (Bloody Mary, mimosa or Bellini) is included with certain brunch entrees.
Staff were very helpful and the food was delicious.
We arrived in time for happy hour which was delicious. The oysters were fresh and we tried the Moscow mule with their house made ginger beer. Great overall experience.
Quality choice, consistent taste and solid service
Always a good go to for quality dinner
Love The Smith! The Brussel sprouts are my fave. The sides that come with the salmon?! Chileeee, so good! The service is great. I’ve also done a birthday dinner here as well!
Great food, seated on time, waiter was attentive but not overbearing, since it’s covid we did outdoor dining and U street is noisy but that’s to be expected
Great and thanks
We had left a note with our reservation that two people in our party was nondairy and one was vegan, no one told us about any options that fit our diets.
We thought we were ordering something without cheese and it ended up having cheese on it which was disappointing. We would have said something to our server but she disappeared for over an hour. We even had to wave down another server to just get our food order in.
This was my first time attending Brunch at The Smith and the food was great, but the service was lacking extremely.
Food was excellent, service was good, food is a great value but drinks are $$$
Best French toast we have ever had!
Perfect service. Clean, well spaced, delicious food, organized and covid safety friendly. Will definitely be back
Delicious! Everything we ate was amazing. Gnocchi is a MUST. Pork chop was amazing. The bread pudding dessert also a must, ridiculously good.
Always a pleasure. I love this spot. Especially the brunch. All the food is great.
All time fav restaurant
The food was delicious. I ordered the rancheros scramble and my friend ordered the Benedict Johnny. We nearly kicked our plates clean. We also shared the fries with house-made blue cheese fondue. SO GOOD. To drink, we had the French 75 slushees, Bellini, and gatsby. All were made perfectly.
Excellent, safe dining experience! I would return there in a minute!
Great service from my waiter and GM working the day I was there.
Exceptional service and cocktails. Will definitely be returning soon.
Our waitress was horrible. Ignored us most of the time, brought us the wrong wine and ignored us when we tried to tell her it wasn’t the right wine, brought us our check without asking. Will not go back after that.
Good food. Quiet; good for work meetings. Clean. Thank you
