Food was good, vibe was off. You get a drink included with your meal if you order certain dishes which is appealing. I got the ranchero scramble, not the best I’ve had but still good. Two other people at the table said their food was good as well but I am not sure what they got. The drinks that were included were meh. It was more the server and the vibe that knocked some stars off. I asked for a mocha which was on the menu and the server told me they were out of espresso, and then walked away without offering or suggesting anything else. I overheard him tell another table they were out of something as well however I’m not sure what they asked for. If you’re looking strictly for a good meal, The Smith might do it for you. Based just on food I would recommend this place. If you’re looking for an overall good experience, eh, there are many other places in DC that can do that.
There was absolutely no seasoning not ever the 4 basics--garlic powder, onion powder, salt, nor pepper. The shrimp was terribly overcooked. The cornbread was dryer than the Sahara desert. The drinks weren't mixed well. I might as well had shots. The server was lovely and the decor was beautiful but you need more than that to keep me coming back
Fantastic food, friendly staff and phenomenal cocktails - overall a great experience, especially during COVID19 when things can sometimes be a bit off with social distancing and other precautions. Our experience 10/10
Fast, great cocktails
Welcomed by the host, who knew my name and that I had a reservation before I had a chance to say it! Outdoor seating is properly distanced and food is delicious. Great cocktails.
I go here all of the time. Tried the chicken pot pie for the first time. Loved it. Another thing that’s nice is you can easily get there by metro and not have to deal with parking.
Nice experience. During this time of Covid 19, people are nervous to eat out. The Smith felt very comfortable. Plenty of space between tables and staff with proper personal protection equipment. We were greeted by Shawn. He was very professional and happy. We worked with Jordan. She had great recommendations and did an outstanding job. The staff in general is very attentive. Much appreciated!
Great food! I do wish the waitress had been more attentive, especially considering the restaurant had few diners.
Great service. Ask for Jannette, she was great. Food was superb, compliments to the chef. Will eat here again 9/10
Wonderful experience! It was my first time going out to brunch in 6 months! Great job with practicing social distancing while delivering exceptional service! I’ll be back again soon!
It was just ok. We would ask our water for more water or drinks. He would come back to check up on us and then remember to bring what we asked for. I think we were one of 3 tables he was helping.
Everything here is decent. Cute place, some good options on the menu, solid service (drinks took awhile in a not crowded restaurant but the waitstaff were great). It’s definitely overpriced, especially for a chain. 3 of us had a 3/4 drinks and split 2 appetizers and it was over $200 not including tip.
I would definitely recommend getting the hot fudge Sunday. It was amazing and had a full waffle cone on the top. Also, the resturant had some mosquitos so make sure to put on big spray.
Profession service and exceptional food at a reasonable price.
I’ve been really impressed with the brunch the last couple times we’ve gone. Solid service, solid food, will come back again.
Our server, Matt, was amazing! Food was perfect!
Sat outdoor. Happy hour specials were very reasonable. Service was great, sat at our reservation time and did not wait long for our food. Overall good experience, food taste great as well!
Outdoor seating was perfect. The smith steak n eggs was great and the mac n cheese good!
Everything was super yummy. 1st time diner and I will return. Assortment of cocktails to choose, my main veggie sizzling rice bowl was fantastic, and we split a caramel chocolate dessert. Clean and stylish ambiance.
Great time with great friends. Good food and good energy. Our servers were amazing, prompt, and professional!
Brunch was delicious. It was money well spent. I would return here again.
One of the best lunches I ever had! A great selection of food and drinks and the wait staff were phenomenal!
Absolutely AMAZING! Food, drinks, service was stellar. Thank you so much! We will be back!
We had brunch here for the first time. It was on a busy Sunday morning and three people joined our party unexpectedly. I was impressed they were able to seat all 11 of us at such a busy day. The service was amazing and the food was delicious. Everything came right on time and everyone handled challenges very professionally. Definitely recommend!
Great for families or dinner/drinks with friend. Wonderful attentive servers make the experience an added plus!
Came here for the first time for a friend's birthday brunch, and I was impressed. The service was great - friendly and hospitable. The food was great value for money, with the added bonus of it tasting wonderful! The ambiance was my idea of a perfect DC brunch spot: natural lighting, clean decor, and relaxed ambiance. Would definitely recommend to a friend! I will be returning as soon as possible.
Great food for brunch!
This was our 3rd visit to the Smith. Service was not good at all. Salads arrived wrong, had to ask for drink refill. $8 for an order of fries is ridiculous, even for DC. Wont be returning anytime soon.
They have the best pancakes I’ve ever had. The serving size is outrageous, but the food is good. You will have leftovers.
Amazing service and food. The French 75 slushy and mussels and fries were to die for. I’ll definitely be back!
Restaurant was so cute, the Old Cubano was realllyyyy good!!!! The food was subpar! Great place for drinks and oysters! Oh! And I’m sure the fries are great.
Always amazing food, great service and good ambiance! I bit too loud sometimes - but perfect before going out for a party / drinks, if that’s vibe you’re going for!
It wasn't a great showing. Drinks too 30 minutes to arrive, the appetizers came AFTER the meal, and the Pot Pie was full of bones.
very good time for dinner - excellently cooked steak, super yummy cookies for dessert -hot out of the oven!
Portion sizes are just right - full and no doggie bags.
It was wonderful! I met my friend here for dinner and loved it, as always. Great service. Very loud but we were in a back corner thank god.
Was very disappointed that waiter steered us to an $85 carafe of wine. The whole conversation about it was wrong and we felt mislead in a fairly significant way.
I brought a party of 12 for a birthday brunch, and we had a wonderful experience! The waitstaff were speedy, courteous, and even brought out our cake with candles without being asked. Thanks to The Smith for a great day!
Great brunch food!
