My family and I went here for Mother's Day because I've been wanting to try this place out for awhile because I follow them on IG and their food looks soooo delicious. However, I wasn't as impressed with the food (it was good, but I expected better). The atmosphere was nice. Also, it was four of us and they sat us indoor near a window at a small square table and when I requested for us to sit somewhere in a corner at a larger table, I was told that was for larger parties. Keep in mind the restaurant was not even 50% capacity. No other parties came in to sit at those tables the entire time we were there. I definitely felt slighted. I doubt that I would go back.
First time going and will definitely be back again! The Benedict Johnny was incredible!
Great dining experience. Service was very good and the food even better.
Great meal before Friday night's CAPS game. The steaks were done to perfection. Restaurant tables spaced far apart so very safe.
Absolutely great! Good service, great food. A really nice evening. We’ll be back!
The outdoor seating area is great for people watching. Drinks were delicious!
Nothing extra special but everything was solid. Good location and nice outdoor section.
We had the best time! It’s been a little while since we’ve been able to dine at The Smith, and (as usual) it didn’t disappoint. The food was amazing, the ambiance was relaxing and positive, and most importantly – the staff were all incredibly kind, helpful, and hospitable. Thank you!!!
Food was not good. Undercooked veggie burger. Over cooked burger. Bad service. Water tasted so bad.
Great food and service. We come here whenever we watch the Wizards game.
Sat outside with heater. Very comfortable and safe. The waite staff was attentive as needed. An excellent venue for lunch.
Food was not very good and expensive. Servers and hostess were nice. Find someplace else to eat.
Great food & staff! Excellent variety of food choices...I can't wait to go back.
Service and drinks were great. Appetizers were good. The meal was blah. Ordered the steak and eggs. Won’t be back for that!
Delicious food in a cool space. Complementary drinks are the best!
Food and ambiance was fair at best. Shrimp and grits not seasoned and the asparagus was so stalky and tough I couldn’t eat it.
- they put us outside and it was freezing and windy. They should tell you if you’re outside... most restaurants in DC do and or give clear options
- the service was really slow
- my filet was medium not medium rare like I ordered and it was not tender like a filet should be
This place has gone down hill . One of my favorite restaurants it’s sad what happened
Great first brunch in over a year! Thank you for your service
Overall experience was great. They are really serious about following the COVID-19 guidelines. Food was pretty good.
Ate outside. Service was great. Food was great. Adherence to Covid rules was great. Felt safe and well fed and well taken care of. Would recommend!
Great service! We felt cared for and the food was was worth it!
Fabulous overall with one minor exception- we were told as we checked in for our reservation that we would have to agree to be out within an hour prior to being seated. I was a bit shocked by that, but we agreed. Did not get our food until 35 minutes later, and we really had to watch the clock in order to comply with having to be done and out of there in the hour time frame we were given. I would suggest that if this is a policy for Saturday brunch (or any other time, for that matter) -it should be made clear during the reservation process that we may only have 1 hour at a table. It’s a little off-putting to have to consent to essentially have a meter running on your table prior to being seated. I think The Smith can do better than this.
The food was excellent. We had a great large tasy omelet. The service was superb. A cheerfulwaiter. The prices are reasonable. The restaraunt is very bright and cheerful
Nyc staying at hotel across the street so booked this place out of convenience. Ordered the potato chips and blue cheese-delicious....wanted more!I had the butternut squash bucatini-not that good-was not hot and just not that much flavor. My girls had the ricotta gnocchi and the Mac and cheese-both of those were awesome. Waitress seemed to disappear-told me it was happy hour-except for the one wine I chose-totally fine but she could have told me that-then when I wanted to order another glass had to ask the runner because did not see our waitress any place-
Great service, good food. Need to reserve in advance.
My younger sister’s 32nd birthday.
Had a great evening at The Smith! Food was excellent and so was the service and atmosphere. We are in DC for the weekend and we are very glad we chose The Smith for dinner. I highly recommend!
Made an 8:30 reservation and they didn't tell me they closed at 9pm. So I took an uber all the way there and they didn't even contact me to tell me the restaurant was closing shortly after my reservation?
Great food and service. We ate outside due to pandemic so a bit of road noise but no complaints.
The dinner food was delicious and reasonably priced. The outside seating option was set up well and cozy. The waiters were attentive and pleasant.
Our waitress was great! Ordered French Toast that was nothing but bread pudding. Would not get that again.
Was real good good good good food and open and good service.
Really enjoyed eating here, the service is great and the staff is super friendly. The food and drinks is also really amazing. Will definitely be coming back!
The food has always been good, everytime I’ve gone to the Smith. It’s slightly pricey for something’s but not overly expensive. Service is good & most of the drinks I’ve tried have been good.
Very COVID safe. They make you put masks on every time a server comes to your table. Very quiet because tables are very very spread out. Way more than 6 feet in my opinion. Not the same atmosphere as before COVID but very safe and food was still good.
First time at The Smith, was there for Happy Hour and dinner. We were lucked into some great deals for oysters for a choice of three different types and good cocktails selection too.
The food was delicious. I had the Short Ribs Ragtoni and my friend ordered the Pot of Mussels with a side of fries. The service was on point and everyone was following COVID safety protocols as well. Atmosphere was great and perfect for any types of occasions, definitely will return again soon.
It was nice and the social distancing was welcoming.
I ordered the Caesar salad and oysters. The food was amazing. Not only do you get a glass bottle of water for your table when you are seated, but also a bottle of sparkling water as well. It was a nice touch. The restaurant is also very sensitive to the current Covid situation. The wait staff would not even come to the table to bring or collect anything unless you are wearing your mask. I did feel that was a bit much, but I appreciate the measure they are taking to keep their patrons and staff safe and healthy.
Everything was great. Hard to understand the staff that muffles at you to put your mask on when they approach. Otherwise food was great, service was swell, and the oysters and drink specials during happy hour were rad. Vday menu was perfect portions and delish.
