restaurant handled cpviod issues very well. menu was good for brunch. copped served hot and service was attentive during a very busy period. party of 4 and all were happy with the brunch experience

Great service well distanced indoor dining

The outdoor seating was extremely comfortable and well heated despite the 20 degree weather. Food was amazing and we didn't have to wait long to be served. Our server Cody respected social distancing rules and made sure that we had our masks on before approaching the table. The food itself was amazing. The Benedict Johnny and the Grilled Chicken sandwich were very filling and pleasurable. Would definitely recommend.

I’ve always walked past this restaurant while hustling after work to kickboxing class(before the pandemic) and I finally got to see why it’s always crowded!!. Saturday was such a cold day but that didn’t stopped the patrons from filling the sidewalk seating with outdoor heating lamps & not that inside any different as it was hustling and bustling with fellow brunch parties. I appreciated the social distancing tht was in place indoors as was the outdoor seating . We started off with an order of fries which came to the table piping hot and the Moscow mules to follow which were made just right. Our entrees I had a side salad with the grilled chicken sandwich, my two friends one had the brussel sprouts with the burger and the other had the jalapeño grits dish and the tomato soup. Also for the table to share we had wa side of bacon, shishito peppers & of course we had to try the mac n cheese which was sooo yummy !!!!!! We all were very satisfied with our food. The only thing we had a small complaint about was how cold it felt while seated indoors. Just turn the heat up a notch or two and we are sold because indoors almost felt like it matched outdoors . That minor setback haven’t left a bad taste with us though as everything else made up for it . Can’t wait to go back

Kelly was the most exceptional waitress ever and I would give her the highest rating of stars. She made my date night amazing and overall had an amazing time here. Very COVID safe and the food is always amazing.

Noise level was high because we ate outdoors but the food and service were impeccable as always. When our main courses arrived before our shared appetizer the manger told us the chef will prepare new ones rather than keeping the main courses warm. They did the right thing and I will go back again and again!

Everything was delicious, especially the delicata squash appetizer. We will be back!

The wait staff was attentive and they took great precautions with covid and that was a welcomed change to other restaurants I’ve been to. The food came quickly and was quite good. Prices were a little steep but a great place if you want to treat yourself or your partner. Highly recommend!!

Great experience and food

I used to love The Smith as it was one of the most reliable restaurants in NYC. We just went back for our first indoor dining experience since it opened up in New York, and unfortunately the food left a lot of be desired. The appetizers, Mac and Cheese and Burrata were great but the entrees were not. We got the chicken sandwich, which had a massive and a very thin under-seasoned piece of chicken. The Rancheros Scramble was served on a soggy tortilla which made the whole dish have a mushy and bland texture. Typically a Huevos Rancheros type dish would always be served on a crispy tortilla. It was disappointing meal and I'm not sure I'll be back.

Overall it was a good experience but we were sat at a table that in my view was not adequately separated and we had to ask for dividers. The place is huge and I therefore did not understand why these 3 tables were so close to each other. This was the first day where indoor dining was allowed again in NY and I hope the restaurant will make adjustments to ensure diners can feel safe.

Even though we had a reservation, When we first got there, there wasn’t clear distinction between reservations and those who had just arrived. The wait to be seated wasn’t long that night, so I didn’t think it was a big deal. However, the hosts who check you in are not the nicest. Like they aren’t mean, but they also aren’t very welcoming and we could tell that the night has been quite busy for them. Our server was pleasant and the food was good, but It was annoying to have to put your mask back on, even while you were eating, if they came to your table for any reason. That was a bit much for me, especially since we were outside with so much space. Most places allow you to enjoy your food and drink without the hassle of putting on and taking off your masks every 15 minutes.

Staff was welcoming and happily changed our table when the heater did not work and we were cold. Food was fine service was paced to our request

Dining in the winter during the pandemic is hard but the Smith makes it easy with wonderful table spacing, heaters at the tables and low contact ordering. The menu is always delicious.

It was much colder than maybe we expected. Granted it was a cold night but the heaters in the pods don’t heat as well as needed maybe or need to be adjusted to spread over the table more

Friendly and careful staff

The outside seating was very bad, the heaters only cover the open part of the body, the side separators are very bad don’t cover the wind, we literally freeze.

The bread was cold and didn’t taste fresh, the portions were small.

Honestly we have been there many times before and the quality went down badly.

I understand is undergoing Covid but certain things on a restaurant like this you need to maintain.

The food and service was great! It was very cold despite the heaters so I suggest they install rolling doors or plastic curtains like other outdoor dining spots in NYC.

The outdoor dining set up was fairly comfortable and felt safe. The heater was warm enough for me abs my friend. The chairs were metal and I brought a blanket to sit on which was helpful. My friend started getting cold though towards the end of the meal. Food and service were great.

Always great food & drinks here and I appreciate the airy & separated yet heat-lamp setup in these pandemic times.

Ate here outside. Sorry to say the food was not good. It did come quickly. Reception was very poor.
