We were there on a Sunday night at 5:30pm so there was little to no noise, but adjacent to the dining area there is a dance floor and dancing Friday and Saturday nights and I could see that it would be noisy seated next to the dance floor.
Get a table next to a window as the view is really impressive and select the dining room away from the dancing/bar area.
Rack of lamb was really really good with great veggies. Salmon was also very good and order a charcuterrie board (a mini board for 2-3). Really tasty meats and cheeses.
Excellent food and service and location. A bit pricey.
This place is expensive but worth it for special occasions. Located on the top floor of the old Breakers Hotel (a historic landmark), the panoramic city/harbor view is unmatched by any other Long Beach restaurant.
Valet parking is almost necessary as there is no street parking and the entrance from Locust Street is on a steep slope. A red carpet leads down a long corridor to the elevator with a welcoming operator. The restaurant ambiance is that of a 1920s art deco night club and once the haunt movie stars such as Clark Gable, Errol Flynn, Rita Hayworth, Cary Grant and John Wayne. Warm low level lighting and flickering candles on the white tablecloths provide a very romantic atmosphere.
Fridays and Saturdays feature a swing/jazz dance band on the small dance floor. One extremely talented patron couple provided us with a great show of swing dancing that alone was worth the price of the evening.
We had the fillet steak and the seared scallops. The food was outstanding and beautifully presented. Service was very attentive, almost over the top.
A few minor flaws: Our waiter neglected to deduct from the bill the $100 gift certificate we presented when ordering. It took a long time and two requests to get sugar for tea. The dinner forks have an unusual upturn on the handles which when rested on the edge of the plate makes them to slide into plate and become soiled with sauce.
The Sky Room is our favorite for a really nice night out. Wait staff is tops as is the food, wine, view and ambiance.
Exceptional meal overlooking coastal Long Beach during reunion with a dear friend, both of us raised in Long Beach. Could not have been a more delightful evening. Except: the delicious Lobster Macaroni & Cheese deserves it’s own place on the Seconds menu — superb!
Fantastic food, particularly the Diver Scallops and the Ravioli!
The service was great. Experience and food were perfect. Exactly what we were looking for!
Amazing! We had an amazing experience. The food was good and the hospitality was great. Will definitely go back again
All I can say is the best I’ve ever had. I mean everything was perfect! Food was unbelievable, too good to be true. Waitress was awesome and helpful!!!
Unusually noisy this visit. Service was a bit "flat." Perhaps the impending property sale has impacted staffing.
Family in town
It was fun
Came to celebrate our 30th Wedding Anniversary. Had a wonderful night. They had a nice cozy table with 2 roses for my wife. It was a nice detail. Amazing views. The food was delicious. Drinks were really good. Definitely going back.
They made the night sooo special! Amazing customer service. Beautiful views. Food was good.
Wedding anniversary meal. Great place with a great atmosphere
The view was gorgeous. The music and dancing was a delight.
Over the top service food
Filet Mignon, Fanny Bay Oysters, and the Charcuterie Petite Duo Plate are to DIE for! Fanstastic service, small but quality wine and beer list, and a great intimate ambiance.
I cannot speak more highly of our waiter (I cant remember his name but he works wednesday nights and has worked there for the past 20 years). He is a SEASONED waiter (just the right amount of personable, professional and fabulous) He was great at making sure he checked in on our table without disturbing any sort of conversation, and anticipated our needs quicker than anyone I have ever been served by before. His service alone is worth the dining experience.
The history of the building and the restaurant are so interesting, and the view of Long Beach is fantastic. Worth every penny.
We went for our Valentine's dinner. Everything was amazing! Our table was right in the corner so we both could enjoy the view. We were able to see the city and beach in the daylight, watched the sunset and then got to see the evening lights. It was quite a spectacular evening.
Food is OK, service is good and the view is excellent, great during Spring Summer as there is a bar on the roof top, if you split a main course be prepared to be charged $15.00, the waiter does not mention this during order taking
Absolutely amazing venue. Historic, unique, romantic & excellent food and service.
Amazing overall! Highly recommended!
The steak was excellent!!! Enjoyed the live music as well
Amazing experience. We spent our 2 year anniversary here. The food and ambiance was amazing. I was hesitant at first since we live in Irvine and the drive to Long Beach after work is not ideal, however was completely worth it and would highly recommend to anyone looking for a great date night.
It was an amazing experience we had a great view and the vibe was relaxing and romantic. The server was amazing and very knowledgeable.
From the minute I got there to the minute I left was greeted great and nothing bad to say at all.
Everything was great but, both times service could be better. Ran out of bread our salad had no dressing. Seems like we were being rushed to finish.to bad really love this place.
Overall had a great time! Service and Food was great!
Superb service. Adam was what every waiter in every restaurant everywhere should aspire to be. Ask for his section if you go. And his food recommendations. He was spot on with all of them, especially the shrimp al ajillo- excellent! Love the music too.
It was my boyfriend and I's first time at The Skyroom and it was romantic and the food was delicious!. We enjoyed a very nice dinner with a great view, we'll definitely come back :)
Sitting was very close to other customers. Noise level from other people was pretty loud. Food was marvelous!
Dinner was amazing. Food was perfectly prepared and the wait staff did a great job. They not only took care us but provided the color and history of the building and did it in a humorous manner which added to the delightful night.
Great host and staff. Seated quickly and with a great view outside. Food was excellent. Waiter was on his game and food was served quickly and was perfect! Can’t wait to go back next time I’m in town!!
Beautiful restaurant, great service and very delicious meals.
Perfect for date night.
Good food. But I didn’t appreciate the location of my table. It was literally near the staircase. They could of given me a much better location. Especially, considering they had other tables unoccupied.
Very friendly, lots of attention, beautiful view and waiters were superb!
Marti was excellent as always
We just celebrated my husband’s 59th birthday @ The Sky Room!
We had heard great things about this place. It did not disappoint!
This authentic Art Deco space was truly lovely, the food was delicious
& the views of downtown Long Beach and the harbor were spectacular.
If U haven’t been there yet, U should definitely check it out for your
next special night out.
Great view, service, old school charm, excellent food and wine.
Great art deco themed room. We ordered from the DineLA menu and were pleased with our choices. Service was attentive and conversation was possible over the music in the main room. Very enjoyable dinner and great for people watching.
