With it's roaring log fires and its warm and inviting interior, it is the perfect place to escape from the long winter months, It's large, bright and colourful beer gardens are the perfect place to enjoy the roaring sunshine too! The Six Bells is renowned for its great selection of award winning cask ales which include ever changing guest ones. Particularly from a number of local small 'micro breweries'. I am vegetarian and I chose pasta which was excellent. I would like to have seen more veggie options on the starters menu but overall we really enjoyed our meal.

Not worth the money, the beef was tough and no extra gravey, veg was hard even the potatoes, expensive for what it is.

Brilliant location, well stocked bar and friendly staff, but the food wasn't good. In fact a common theme was overcooked. Here are the examples from Sunday lunch last weekend, to celebrate my birthday. I had the Calamari, so overcooked the batter was dark brown and the squid like rubber bands. My Sister's pate and toast; burnt sliced white with what looked and tasted like cheap supermarket pate. Brother in law's soup - so thick and over reduced, it could almost be sliced. On came the roast beef. Tough, fatty and really difficult to cut. Vegetables - nicely cooked though, were on serving dishes that so hot they could not be touched - no warning from the staff that the dishes were hotter than the Sun. We didn't enjoy our meals and won't be returning. Also, to stop the table from getting wet from the condensation from cold drinks, supply beer mats.

Stopped off here for Sunday Lunch. The service was excellent. Very attentive friendly staff, nothing was too much trouble. The lunch was good with 5 different veg and extra gravy when requested. Everything lovely and hot and generous portions. Would visit again if in the area.
