The Sit Down - Los Feliz
While the setting is intimate both inside and outside in the courtyard, I was extremely disappointed in our dinner. We ordered ordinary soda beverages, simpler starters, and our entree. After a very long wait, our drinks arrived, quite watery. After another very long wait, our starter and entrees arrived at the same time. Mine was lukewarm, although my companion's pizza was hot and our guest was satisfied. We didn't even consider dessert, but asked for the check...again another very long wait even though the restaurant had thinned out considerably. The waitperson was friendly and appeared to be trying to work hard at good service, but either they were short staffed or she had too many responsibilities - but the results were not good.
We had a Groupon deal- the girl that took care of us (and the waiter that was on duty was nice as well) was really nice :)! Cute little restaurant, went there for brunch. If you do brunch- the SALMON POCHED EGGS...O M G....love the homemade bread....and we had a lavender latte...was nice:). We will be back :)- thank you, B.
LOVE this place! We usually come for dinners, but we recently tried brunch. It was very delicious and so pleasant to sit on the quiet back patio. Also they had blankets in case you were cold, which was amazing!
Excellent pizza!!!! Tiramisu was amazing! Great cozy place. Look forward going back! All around great place!
Exceptional food and service!!
Wonderful food. Excellent service. I was in a bit of a hurry, and the server was very accommodating.
The Sit Down is a hidden gem. The restaurant looks deceivingly small, but there is actually a beautiful back patio. They have heat lamps and blankets so it's great for all year round. The pasta is some of the best I've ever had and I love all of their other menu options. Came here for New Year's Eve dinner before heading to a bar and it was a great experience. The restaurant is BYOB which is awesome. Definitely go here!
Exceptional food and great service.
My husband and I stopped by a few months ago not knowing anything about the place. The back patio is cozy and cute and romantic. The food is tasty and reasonably priced. We went back on my birthday because it just feels like a nice place to enjoy a meal. It's BYOB with a $5 corkage fee, which I don't mind at all.
I had sensational Italian choices and then had to have coffee after smelling my table mate's cup. The back patio is sympatico with the very efficient but laid-back service. Molto bene
the tiramasu is to die for. the bianca pizza, gnocchi, pasta.. all the food is bomb. BYOB. the back patio is cozy and there's sometimes live music. go there before or after a movie at the vista theater :)
lovely to have Sunday brunch here...a bit pricey but food and service were worth it. Sit in the patio area, it feels like you're in another city!
Great casual spot for pre-Vista movie going. We had the Sit Down pizza and a salad, it was terrific. Had I known about the no liquor license I would’ve brought a bottle, but that’s on me. I’ll be back, prepared!
We had requested the outdoor patio in the back - made the reservation 2 weeks prior and ended up sitting outside with the Homeless people. A shame especially since we took new potential clients there - who def don't want to go back now.
Very nice atmosphere and beautiful outdoor setting
sit outside on their patio for a great alfresco experience
We had a sample of both pizza and pasta, and all our meals were great. Plate prices are a little on the high side, but are ok if you are able to share.
Had the creek brûlée French toast
It was ok
I like the patio in the back
And staff are friendly and polite
Great food! Terrible service!
Decent food. Really inattentive service. There were 4 tables and our server still couldn’t do the basics like refilling water. We were almost done with our meal before she stopped by the first time to see how everything was. She didn’t say “thanks for coming” or anything. Really not polished.
To even be on Open Table is shocking. This place is really a dump! The food was mediocre
I had chicken picatta which was very rubbery. My husband had the penne arriabiatta with chicken
also very average. The bread is delish, the staff is very nice, but it really was shocking when
we got there. Close to the Greek Theatre, but we won't go back.
Very accommodating , super friendly staff and the food outstanding. Chicken parm was amazing!
We asked for the sandwich not to be toasted and for them to put anchovies in the Caesar salad. We were very disappointed to find that they messed up both requests. We care for a business lunch and didn’t have time to wait for them to fix it. Food was good but service was inattentive and poor
Awesome place. Incredible outdoor patio at back. Food is exceptional.
Food was pretty good. Although it took a bit longer than on previous visits, it tasted great and the service was friendly and frequent, but not intrusive. BYOB so we brought a bottle of sparkling with us and enjoyed the outdoor patio. Have been there for brunch on the weekends before and I'm glad I checked it out for a late Labor Day breakfast. Will definitely go again!
Very enjoyable meal. Terrific and friendly service! Meatball appetizer fantastic. Pizza was very good, not sure I’d get the spicy meat with honey pizza again, but would certainly like to go back and try more items from the menu. If you’re going to see a movie at The Vista theater, then this is THE place for dinner.
I don't remember our waiter's name but he was so sweet! He told us about his favorite menu items and was attentive but not pushy.
Great Service and reliably good Italian food. We all enjoyed our food and appreciated the attentive service.
I came here for my birthday brunch. I really wanted to find a BYOB brunch spot and came across this place! You can literally bring whatever alcohol you'd like and they'll provide ice and cups for you. The service was amazing, our waitress was super accommodating. Food was really good too. The only thing I didn't like were the swarm of flies, but that comes with dining outdoors I guess :(. I will be back!!
Waited long time for service throughout entire meal. Nice inside, wanted to like it, just very poor service even during a light crowd...can only imagine when it gets busy.
Small intimate restAurant--best part is the outdoor garden in the back which is charming----service friendly and effeciant---neighborhood not so good.
The service here is incredible. We got some great recommendations, and a lot of attention, even when other tables started filling up. Everyone loved the food they got (gnocchi, pizza, calamari), and really enjoyed the big movie screen once that got started. I will definitely return, but probably not until it cools off.
We went for lunch while visiting LA on family vacation. This little hole in the wall is a MUST!!!! I had to order The Sit Down pizza since we were there and it did not disappoint. My husband and daughter split a pizza and the lasagna; the lasagna was amazing. Our youngest daughter got a half cheese and half margherita pizza - she pretty much ate the entire pizza and what she didn’t finish, she ended up eating as we waited in LA traffic. Very much recommend if you are in the area!!!
Went for our anniversary brunch. The lavender honey toast is SO GOOD!! Definitely coming back here soon
The food was amazing we loved it and we shared the plates so we tried a few things. Zucchini pesto pasta- yummm
Salmon salad - wow
And some muzarella delicious.
Service was a bit slow and we were one of the only customers. But I guess they put lots of love on the food.
Very nice server and beautiful back yard. Will come back
Yummy and thank you!
Lunch was delish and such a cute gem of a place. Our Server Casey had a great personality and was excellent.
Superb Italian cooking with a home cooking flair! Pasta was perfect with sauces that screamed Mama’s recipies. The Pizza was cooked in a wood fired oven visible as you enter. Slightly charred thin crust the enhanced terrific sauce culminating in Pies at their best!
Great food and service an unusual location.
