Saw a show but was very impressed with the quality of food! It took a long time but worth it!
Most people associate this venue with live music; we went there for brunch and it was a pleasant and well-structured experience. the menu was lively and interesting - there were a number of things that appealed to non-meat eaters and a number of clever takes on traditional breakfasts. The room upstairs is probably loud when full, becuase there lots of hard surfaces, but for a Sunday afternoon, it was very nice. Service was smart and attentive; food made to order almost before your eyes. Very nice experience.
Great place to eat before a show! The outside patio is beautiful, when the weather is good.
The food was remarkably bad. We are all vegetarians, and the only meal anybody ordered that was any good had bacon in it so we couldn't eat it (after specifying that the bacon could and would be taken out). The menu listed an app as "pickles" but it was unfamiliar pickled vegetables. Our waiter talked to us about smoking weed a few times, was very flustered, and made some mistakes with our bill. The cocktails all came out at different times. It's a nice enough place but I wouldn't order food there again.
We made reservations at the Sinclair because we were going to a concert later that evening. What a pleasant surprise. Menu was limited but quite interesting. Food was extremely well-prepared. We will definitely be back.
I have been going to the Sinclair for a long time as my son used to work there. The food has always been good and the service too. I can say, nothing has changed. The Black Sea Bass was outstanding, we all enjoyed our evening. Our server Sam, was delightful, amazing and attentive.
Unfortunately, the food did not live up to the hype. We had the pop-corn appetizer with nutritional yeast and seaweed and it was really not very good. It was overwhelmed by the yeast and none of the seven of us liked it. The main dishes were better, but nothing special, certainly not living up to the five star reviews other people have given this place.
Basically everyone pretty much thought it all sounded better on the menu then it did on the plate.
This was a great restaurant with delicious food and lively ambience. Every touch was thought out.
The Staff were very helpful and friendly. A great spot to go before a gig.
Went to a concert
I would certainly return to the Sinclair again for their cocktails and ambiance. We were having a quick dinner before seeing at show at the Sinclair. We were early for our reservation and able to be seated when we arrived which was greatly appreciated. Our orders arrived quickly and our water glasses were never empty. The service was good overall. My fiance had a nice glass of red and I had a tasty, smokey whiskey cocktail that was even better than the description showed. To eat, we shared 3 appetizers - truffle veggie chips, brussel sprouts, and garlic knots. The truffled chips were tasty and we only wish we had more. The brussels were somewhat muted in flavor -- even some salt and pepper would have brought them more to life. The garlic knots were garlicky in a perfect garlic oil combo with a very tasty sauce on the sauce. The breaded knot could have used a little more salt as well, but it was still good.
Because of health reasons I needed a chair for the concert. The staff was fabulous-extremely helpful. Very professional in all aspects
why do restaurants rush to clean out and take the plates white they obviously seem to be still food on them???
This was our first time to visit The Sinclair restaurant. We made a reservation at The Sinclair restaurant as part of the evening to see the Mike Gordon Band. Reservation was at 6 and they promptly seated us. Food was amazing! Got the calamari, braised beef ribs & bone marrow burger - wonderfully decadent. Didn't get dessert - unfortunately, we had no room left after eating the ribs & burger. Enjoyed some of the beers they had on tap. Highly recommend making a reservation for dinner in conjunction with the music events there at The Sinclair. So convenient!
Two main gripes that actually matter...the french fries were actually salt with some potato sprinkled on top...absolutely inedible -over salted to a fault. And people, much Nigel in Spinal Tap want bread and rolls that fit their meat. The rolls were so small - all three in our party could not eat our various burgers without making a mess of ourselves.
Nightclub - so it was loud, but to be expected.
Service was polite and friendly, but very slow.
Food was worth about $20-$25 - not over $50.
Nice simple easy place to have dinner before a show
The brussel sprouts are terrible but the wings are amazing!! Garlic knots were decent, but you have to like garlic, they were covered. Fries were good too. Good drink prices for Boston. Service was alright.
food was rullllll good
Despite having made a reservation my wife and I were seated in the empty downstairs section at a small table adjacent to the restroom. We asked to be moved upstairs but the host—rather put out by the questions—said it was a “numbers game”. There were loads of empty tables upstairs when we arrived (and when we left).
This was in contrast to an earlier visit where we just dropped in, and had an excellent meal with great service. Food was very good both times.
Won’t be back any time soon.
The staff is very friendly and welcoming and we got our food quickly. Our waiter James did a superb job in taking care of our party of three. My favorite dish was the beet tartar but my wife liked the surf and turf dish. Our friend, who has many allergies, enjoyed a very plain but tasty hamburger made specially for her with no hassles. It is a bit noisy but seemed to be quite popular with all ages of people.
I am so glad that we discovered this place! The food was incredible! Friendly staff as well! We will definitely be going back.
Always a great time. Loved our food and drinks. We will return
This was recommended as an alternative to Alden Harlow and the menu looked decent so I gave it a try. The first clue should have been the abundance of reservations during bulrunch on Saturday. The second clue should have been that it was dead empty when we arrived and during our entire stay. The food was really not good - I had biscuits and vegetarian gravy. The biscuits were decidedly not fresh, and I’m not convinced the gravy was vegetarian. The upsides were it was cheap and my friend and I were able to catch up for a long time with no pressure to leave because the place was largely empty. Please learn from my fail and do not eat there.
great server that acknowledged our show reservation and hooked us up with wristbands in advance. Food was great!
Average food and service. Expensive for the quality. Server gave wrong info on concert start time. There were no opening act as he mentioned. We would have missed half the concert if we listened to him.
Place was understaffed at first but service got better later. I don't think this is a normal thing for them.
If you are going to a show, it’s a perfect spot for a burger or small plate.
The service was very good and the wine choices were nice. Too much undercooked garlic in the food—I mean whole cloves in one dish, and affecting the garlic bread knots in another.
Overall meal portions small. Devil eggs great but should come 4 to an order. Three makes no sense for a party of four. Or explain on the menu only three to an order.
Overall great waitress friendly staff. Could do without the anti Trump stickers at your bar. Why offend some of your paying customers trying to give you their money. It’s a restaurant not a campaign rally. Not professional or a great business decision. If it cost you 10% in lost sales is it worth it Just feedback... you asked.
To call a big sour, cold cauliflower, entree doesn’t make sense.
Never disappoints - great food and great service - win/win!
Delicious! Amazing service.
After seeing some of the reviews I was skeptical about this place. We had reservations prior to a show for 4 people. The staff was very friendly. We were seated immediately. Waitress was very nice and answered all our questions. She continued to check in with us and offered to bring drinks and fill our water. The food was great! Vegan nachos were super! We loved the open atmosphere. It was a very positive experience and we would definitely return. My only “complaint” was there is not any food options for kids/picky eaters. Like a pasta dish, etc. other then that it was a thumbs up!!
Great food & beer! We went here before seeing a concert @ the Sinclair on a Saturday night. We made reservations & sat upstairs. Service was awesome. Only complaint is that the menu is limited for those who are not as adventurous with food... burgers were perfect though!
pre- ART theater dinner.
Vegetarian small platers -- ravioli and Cauliflower dishes-- not the best--
Ravioli too much cream and cauliflower too spicy
Mushroom toast was outstanding, but brussel sprouts were just ok and the calamari was over breaded and overcooked. Our server was very nice. If you like the louder pub type scene with ashabby, industrial feel then you would like the atmosphere.
A friend told me this place had the best burger in Boston, and I dare say he wasn’t lying. The bone marrow burger and fries it is one of the most delectable pub style meals I’ve ever had, And the vegetarian appetizers on offer Are amazing. The beet tartare wither house made veggie chips was great and the brussels sprouts are so good they rival your entrée. Service was top-notch, friendly and super attentive. Atmosphere lively with great music playing in the background. The best part is you’re just a stairway away From one of the best clubs in the city.
Good place for dinner and a show
Three people, three people and three horrible meals!
Very unsanitary practices in your kitchen. people are not wearing gloves and are handling the food with their bare hands. The guy grilling stuff has licked his fingers 6 times that I have counted and uses his bare hands to then turn food over in a pan, to lift and check on stuff. This is just downright disgusting. Touches his hair and face then touches food with same hands as well. No beard guard. Several long haired people in kitchen without hair nets or hats. Guy taking french fries out of plastic bin with bare hands to throw in fryer...lid drops on floor. Picks it up and puts back on container of uncooked fries. I asked for medium well hamburger. It is black on the outside. Fries were pretty limp and lame. Mediocre tasting food coupled with watching so many people touching the food without gloves and hands that have been licked and touched body parts made for a very unpleasant experience which I will never repeat. The server was very good. We loved the Rebirth Brass Band and the concert venue was great but, we will eat elsewheres before the show in the future.
