Rooftop brunch was very relaxed. The wait staff were great. There were a variety of dishes and all of them were good!
The sinclair is my favorite spot! Love sitting on the patio, ordering a few apps and drinks with friends and enjoying a summer boston night. The service is always wonderful and the drink list is great
Food is pretty bad but the porch is nice!
They were out of one item (it was only 7:00), told us only after we tried to order. The salad was uninspired (greens and tomatoes sole ingredients) and the garlic appetizers were unappetizing. The best part of the experience was the rooftop seating. The staff was pleasant enough, but that cannot compensate for a lackluster menu.
Everything was fine, basic bar food that missed the mark just a little bit. We sat outside on the roof deck and unfortunately there was a mouse (or a few) running around under our feet the whole time. Took away our appetite. We let the server know and she apologized but don’t think she or any restaurant staff planned to do anything about it
surprised by the quality and presentation of the food for a performance venue. very high-end foodie in options, ingredients, preparation and presentation when I expected only good bar bites. excellent!
Not much to tell. Kitchen was backed up but even each round of drinks took an hour to get to the table. Some food was refunded so that was gracious, but it seemed odd to be that backed up on a Wednesday evening. Might try again.
It was great, but $24 for 5 or 6 pieces of gnocchi is crazy. That portion should have been an appetizer. I left quite hungry.
I’ll go back again but I only got about 7 gnocchis for $23. Really didn’t get enough to fill you up. The opposite of other places that give way too much pasta. The sauce was tasty
It was great. The staff was super accommodating and awesome. The food was excellent.
Creative and delicious food, friendly staff and efficient service. Perfect pre-show meal or any time meal, really. Kid-friendly, relaxed, hip atmosphere.
Fun place to go before a show. Gnocchi was house made and very light and delicious.
Food is awful
ONE OF THE BEST VENUES TO SEE LIVE MUSIC IN BOSTON!
We went to the restaurant before a show- it was really pleasant, the food was good, and our server Peter was personable and helpful.
Wonderful to sit outside on the upper level patio. The sangria was cold and full-bodies, and the food was tasty. We especially loved the falafel appetizer and short rib tacos--just right for sharing. Service was attentive--just the right amount of checking in and refilling drinks as requested. We will return!
We had a very good meal before going to the theater. It was our first time and we enjoyed the meal and sitting outside.
The food wasn’t that great. My order of wings were under cooked even though I requested extra crispy. Then the bacon on the burger tasted like it was warmed up in the microwave and very plastically. The fries were delicious and the Brussels sprouts amazing. Overall it’s unlikely we would return.
Underwhelming brunch food, cocktails, seating, & rooftop. This is an overhyped venue.
Good food choices, friendly service, would go again
Saw a show but was very impressed with the quality of food! It took a long time but worth it!
Most people associate this venue with live music; we went there for brunch and it was a pleasant and well-structured experience. the menu was lively and interesting - there were a number of things that appealed to non-meat eaters and a number of clever takes on traditional breakfasts. The room upstairs is probably loud when full, becuase there lots of hard surfaces, but for a Sunday afternoon, it was very nice. Service was smart and attentive; food made to order almost before your eyes. Very nice experience.
Great place to eat before a show! The outside patio is beautiful, when the weather is good.
The food was remarkably bad. We are all vegetarians, and the only meal anybody ordered that was any good had bacon in it so we couldn't eat it (after specifying that the bacon could and would be taken out). The menu listed an app as "pickles" but it was unfamiliar pickled vegetables. Our waiter talked to us about smoking weed a few times, was very flustered, and made some mistakes with our bill. The cocktails all came out at different times. It's a nice enough place but I wouldn't order food there again.
We made reservations at the Sinclair because we were going to a concert later that evening. What a pleasant surprise. Menu was limited but quite interesting. Food was extremely well-prepared. We will definitely be back.
I have been going to the Sinclair for a long time as my son used to work there. The food has always been good and the service too. I can say, nothing has changed. The Black Sea Bass was outstanding, we all enjoyed our evening. Our server Sam, was delightful, amazing and attentive.
Unfortunately, the food did not live up to the hype. We had the pop-corn appetizer with nutritional yeast and seaweed and it was really not very good. It was overwhelmed by the yeast and none of the seven of us liked it. The main dishes were better, but nothing special, certainly not living up to the five star reviews other people have given this place.
Basically everyone pretty much thought it all sounded better on the menu then it did on the plate.
This was a great restaurant with delicious food and lively ambience. Every touch was thought out.
The Staff were very helpful and friendly. A great spot to go before a gig.
Went to a concert
I would certainly return to the Sinclair again for their cocktails and ambiance. We were having a quick dinner before seeing at show at the Sinclair. We were early for our reservation and able to be seated when we arrived which was greatly appreciated. Our orders arrived quickly and our water glasses were never empty. The service was good overall. My fiance had a nice glass of red and I had a tasty, smokey whiskey cocktail that was even better than the description showed. To eat, we shared 3 appetizers - truffle veggie chips, brussel sprouts, and garlic knots. The truffled chips were tasty and we only wish we had more. The brussels were somewhat muted in flavor -- even some salt and pepper would have brought them more to life. The garlic knots were garlicky in a perfect garlic oil combo with a very tasty sauce on the sauce. The breaded knot could have used a little more salt as well, but it was still good.
Because of health reasons I needed a chair for the concert. The staff was fabulous-extremely helpful. Very professional in all aspects
why do restaurants rush to clean out and take the plates white they obviously seem to be still food on them???
This was our first time to visit The Sinclair restaurant. We made a reservation at The Sinclair restaurant as part of the evening to see the Mike Gordon Band. Reservation was at 6 and they promptly seated us. Food was amazing! Got the calamari, braised beef ribs & bone marrow burger - wonderfully decadent. Didn't get dessert - unfortunately, we had no room left after eating the ribs & burger. Enjoyed some of the beers they had on tap. Highly recommend making a reservation for dinner in conjunction with the music events there at The Sinclair. So convenient!
Two main gripes that actually matter...the french fries were actually salt with some potato sprinkled on top...absolutely inedible -over salted to a fault. And people, much Nigel in Spinal Tap want bread and rolls that fit their meat. The rolls were so small - all three in our party could not eat our various burgers without making a mess of ourselves.
Nightclub - so it was loud, but to be expected.
Service was polite and friendly, but very slow.
Food was worth about $20-$25 - not over $50.
Nice simple easy place to have dinner before a show
The brussel sprouts are terrible but the wings are amazing!! Garlic knots were decent, but you have to like garlic, they were covered. Fries were good too. Good drink prices for Boston. Service was alright.
food was rullllll good
Despite having made a reservation my wife and I were seated in the empty downstairs section at a small table adjacent to the restroom. We asked to be moved upstairs but the host—rather put out by the questions—said it was a “numbers game”. There were loads of empty tables upstairs when we arrived (and when we left).
This was in contrast to an earlier visit where we just dropped in, and had an excellent meal with great service. Food was very good both times.
Won’t be back any time soon.
