The Simpson complements Brooklyn’s new restaurant age from Williamsburg to Prospect Park, by offering a seafood friendly Caribbean/Soul Food cuisine and an inspired Classic Cocktail menu infused with the nuances and flavors of the Afro Diaspora’s spice market. The Simpson will embody the soulful vibes and beats of the borough, while capturing the exuberance of the New Brooklyn Renaissance through Art, Music, Mixology and Cuisine. The service will be reminiscent of wherever you call home, as Chef’s “Cooking with Love” menu will be completed with with an array of delectable pastries and desserts, yummy mock tails for the non-drinker, and creative elixirs for the adventurous. Menu highlights include Hennessy Fried Shrimp, Bourbon Bbq, 5 Cheese Macaroni Pie, and Wings.

    Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing for several reasons. Firstly, the food lacked flavor and was quite bland. Additionally, the service was notably slow. At one point, I requested dining utensils from a server that walked by my table; she brusquely informed me that I needed to ask my own server - this was an atypical and upsetting interaction. I was particularly excited about dining here to celebrate my Father, but we both left feeling disheartened. I hope this feedback is helpful and taken into consideration for future improvements.

    The food was amazing, so delicious. Our waiter suggested so many different things and we went with that. The quantity is a lot, so you will be full. The drinks strong and tasty. The place was very clean. The vibe is calm but the music gets a little more louder as it gets later into the day. We will be back !!!

    The food was good! The cost of the food was not worth it due to the presentation. The time limit at each table decreases the social atmosphere. People go out to eat and socialize, so when the food is rushed and guests are unable to entirely enjoy themselves, that is a not good. We were basically kicked out although my friends and I wanted to enjoy a second or maybe a third drink. I think it is bad for business to rush guests who would like to spend more many to enjoy food and drinks with friends or family.

    The food was delicious packed with so much flavor. We ordered the biggie sample platter which has curry goat, jerk chicken, oxtail, white rice, rice and peas, plantain and vegetables along with a side of Mac and cheese. Being our first time going, the platter was a great way to sample a little of everything. There’s was definitely enough food to split among 3 people as we took home leftovers. We will definitely return to try more items on the menu.

    Honestly the grossest food I’ve ever had. The salmon was so overcooked it had no flavor, the coconut curry sauce also had no flavor, the rice & beans tasted like they were days old. The veggies were so overcooked they tasted like they were canned. The salt fish fritter was so hard it was like a hockey puck. If I could give this restaurant no stars, I would. The waitress was overwhelmed & tried her best, but honestly nothing could make up for the food. So bad that when the waitress asked if we wanted dessert we all yelled NO at the same time. If it weren’t for the company I would’ve walked out after my first bite.

    I loved the atmosphere, food, location etc. It's good to be able to travel to a great place without having to go into the city. I definitely will visit again and again 😊
