The Silo at RJ Rockers
We had a great first visit to the Silos! We loved the dip trio app! All entrees were great too- ribeye, shrimp and grits and grilled chicken. We will be back!
We went there for Valentine’s Day. The service was ok, could have been better because it wasn’t packed. The food was not good. I had the burger and it was very overcooked. Mac and cheese and pimento cheese were both very bland and flavorless. Will not come back. Overall fun atmosphere though.
RJ Rockers craft beers has long been known in Spartanburg to be one of the best and it proved during our dining experience to hold true. The atmosphere at the Silo is upbeat and lively and attracts college students and locals. Our server, Morgan, was very cheerful but seemed inexperienced and to her disadvantage under trained in service and not educated about the various beers offered seasonally and on tap. One of our guests preferred a glass of wine—which they offer a selection of reds and whites—but to our dismay they were out of ALL of the reds. Several items on the menu even earlier in the evening were not offered. We ordered an appetizer which took quite a while to come from the kitchen and I actually had to ask a couple of times about it. Our server kept asking us if we were ready to order from the time we sat down even before our entire table arrived. When our food arrived it came without any condiments and our server did not come by to ask what we needed. We had to go to the kitchen and ask for mayonnaise, ketchup and mustard. Otherwise it would have been so dry it would have been hard to eat. Morgan seemed throughout the evening to want to rush us to leave even though the restaurant was not crowded. Before we were finished eating obviously still with food and drink, she asked if we were ready to close out our check. It’s not like the restaurant was closing or anything! This made the experience unpleasant and certainly she could have continued to sell drinks after dinner if she had been more patient. Once closing out our check we continue to have conversation but since our checks have been closed she never checked on us again to ask if we wanted any more waters or anything. It was clear she was done with us. The general experience with service was disappointing to say the least. I guess they are used to dealing with college students.
Very mediocre, expected a little bit more comfort level. Food arrived cold after waiting a long time
Good for family dining.
great food and great beer. lovely atmosphere. will come back!!!
We were excited about trying the Silos, but we were extremely disappointed. The first 4 menu items we order they were out of. The server never apologized and just acted like that was a normal occurrence. I was brought the wrong drink the first time and our table was not offered any refills until it was time to pay the check. We will not be back, and I doubt this restaurant will make it in Spartanburg.
I've been to The Silo for lunch, this was my first dinner experience and all of us in our group LOVED it. The service and drinks were amazing, the foot was stellar. Atmosphere? Felt right at home, it's a wonderful space.
Excellent choice for dinner and after dinner entertainment! Great service as well!
Very good food with some unique choices, including a chefs special. They offer all of RJ Rockers beers along with some interesting mixed beer drinks. The staff is very knowledgeable on both the food and drink choices
Service and food was Awesome!
Food took longer than usual.
Our food was not the best for the price my hamburger was more like a meat ball. But the beer was good
My friend and I had a great time catching up over dinner and drinks. Great beer. The food was good. Nothing crazy but I didn't come here for the food. We came for the beer!
The menu was perfect for us, especially with a young child.
Our server was fantastic. The food took a little longer than expected and some side dishes were dry. The beer was great and new suggestions from our server made me try some new things. Hoping that if we return the food is a little more fresh.
We were there really early so
It was quiet and service was excellent and food was good
Really miss the original menu. There were so many more options for vegetarians. Kelly is an awesome server tho!!
Stopped for refreshment on our road trip home after vacation. Atmosphere was really cool, service was friendly, beer was delicious. Food was mediocre—street corn was served cold! :(
Great service, great atmosphere, great food....we had an outstanding evening here and will definitely go back soon. RJ Rockers is quickly becoming our go-to restaurant in Spartanburg.
The food was good, but the value would have been better if the entree included a side
Great food, fast friendly service. Dog friendly, in the tap room.
We were there for lunch and since our hotel was literally right across the street, back we went. The beer was off the charts, cold crisp and delicious. All of the staff we came in contact with were great. Bubbly and friendly yet professional. Food was really great and since the place was rockin the kitchen was backed up, thank you very much. Gave us some time to relax and enjoy an extra beer. Overall a great time in a great place. I would highly recommend it!!
I did not like check out experience using my credit card with our server's iPad. I should have received an email at the very least to see my check.
This is the first time we had ever dined at the Silo. It was a Thursday night, so it was not that busy, but it took a long time for someone to wait on us. Once they did, the food came quickly enough. Food was good and fairly priced. After we were done eating the server came around several times and asked if we wanted the check even though we told her we wanted to stay and talk and watch the basketball game. We felt like we were being rushed to leave even though no one was waiting for tables and it wasn't closing time. I found that really annoying which is why my review is a little low.
Friday evening. Very disappointed. An hour an 45 minutes before we received our food.
Over half of the party had to leave for their dance recital without eating.
Exceptionally disorganized. We had made a reservation and were called during our seating to see if we were coming.
Food was ok. Certainly wouldn’t recommend.
We arrived for our reservation and had two grandchildren with us who were active. The waitress and staff were very kind and patient with them, got our order perfectly, and delivered everything at the same time. The brunch menu is wonderful.
Menu overall non appealing. Finished product gross. Ordered donuts for dessert and chef needs to be told that a donut is supposed to be soft dough not rock hard. Got too carried away with toppings and forgot to make sure the basics are right. Server said was soo sorry but they the kitchen was busy. Isn’t that the point of a restaurant? To be busy. You’re telling me that my food can only be cooked well and be presented in a timely manner if your restaurant is slow. So not pleased with this restaurant, servers or kitchen. The only good thing about the silo is the beer. Which they don’t make.
Service was very good, the food was excellent. I am looking forward to returning to sample some additional items from their menu.
This was a great night out and our first time at the Silo. We chose the salmon entree and it was just perfect. (not too fond of the fingerling potatoes, but the sweet potato ones were great) Everything was top quality from service to food and ambiance. Loved having the flight to taste the beers so when we come back we can order what we liked best which was the Brown Eyed Squirrel. The apple cider beer was a good one too. We will be telling everyone to try the Silo. Thank you for a great night out.
Great food and great service! The downtown options in Spartanburg keep growing. We will be back!
thank you for coming and for writing a review
Tried The Silo tonight for the first time. I don’t know what I expected but I was blown away! The restaurant was clean, great atmosphere and stellar service by Zach!
The tuna tataki nachos were phenomenal, the fried chicken sandwich was surprising in a great way and the Carolina plank screams for you to wear your fat pants (because it’s huge and so good you won’t want to stop eating!!).
This may have been our first visit but it definitely won’t be our last. If you are considering trying it, stop considering it and just go!
We had a pleasant first dinner at The Silo. Our waiter Brenden did a great job. We loved the blistered corn, the excellent soft shell crab tacos, and fresh apple crisp. I enjoyed the IX Stout. With it's Bourbon barrel flavor it is something special. My wife loved the hard cider she ordered as it was not too sweet or too tart. We look forward to our next visit as there are more items on the menu we want to try. After dinner It was natural to walk out into the RJ Rockers Tap Room area and enjoy the Contra Blues band playing live. We enjoy their music and danced to 5-6 songs. It all worked to make a fun night out. Good job everyone!
Service was good as well as the food. Party of four and each ordered different entrees. All were happy with their choice. Beer selection is great
Just hear to have a conversation with high noise level, but the place is great
The experience started out good...friendly,,knowledgable server. Then we waited 40 mins for a burger and chicken sandwich. Two other parties came in after us and were served before us. Another staff member did check in..for beer refills. Manager came by and said the typical apologies. French fiesta were great. Skinner cut fries with great flavor. Then the 2nd server that kept on eye on our table offered a sincere apology...nice also a gift card for another visit. We walked over to the other side and listened to some music with our beers. It rounded out the evening. Restaurant has tables and high tops. Families, couples and such were the patrons the evening we went.
Outstanding food and service! We have been there many times and the food is top-notch every time. The staff is always friendly and accommodating. The craft beer is always fantastic too! One of our favorite places to eat on the way to Wofford sporting events.
We had reservations at 5:30 and didn’t receive our food until 6:55. We were told it was a family atmosphere but it was much more of a bar than a restaurant. The prices were a little high but we knew that before coming. The food was good and our server was very nice. I think it would be a great place for appetizers and drinks but not for a family dinner. The room was a really cool space and is perfect to grab some food and walk into the brewery to watch a band. We simply misjudged the atmosphere. I would totally come back for a date night just not with my kiddos.
Everything was wonderful - the seating - the service and the food was great. We will return and look forward to trying new dishes.
Unfortunately, the service was poor and the food was just okay.
