Was looking for a seafood place in town and this is the perfect place. Food was simple but delicious. Started with oysters and then had lobster roll (delish) and mussels and clams. I would totally go back for the whole fish next time 👍🏻
The food is really well done. The main restaurant is pretty crowded and noisy. We were given the option of eating in the lobby at the bar which was just great. Much calmer and beautiful service.
Food was fresh and delicious
There was not a single positive with regard to our visit. The food was marginal at best, the service was disappointing, and the ambiance was just okay but not reflective of the price point. How this place gets such high scores is beyond me.
It’s always an amazing time. Excellent Food, the freshest seafood in town, fantastic wine list and the service is always spot on. I have a wonderful experience every time. Worth the money. Go there.
Our server was outstanding. We appreciated her attentiveness, kindness, and excellent service.
We ate dinner outside on a slow but warm night. Outside resulted in the low noise rating. Warm nights in Petaluma are becoming more common regardless of what Trump says. Good seafood.
good food, knowledgeable service, gluten free options for those with gluten intolerance
We enjoyed our dinner very much. From the oysters to the ceviche to the pork, it was all excellent. And the service was perfect, attentive but not too much.
Was first time here and the food was great and service outstanding. The only complaint was the noise level.
Amazing place, food was excellent, oysters were mouth watering, It's a perfect place for a quite night dinner in a small town...
Food was just OK. My wife ordered muscles and 3 of them weren’t even open. We brought it to the waiters attention but nothing done about it.
Very good service and food, nice wine list, oysters that were perfect.
Fresh oysters, nicely presented. Lobster roll was full of lobster! Excellent service. We will return when in the area.
Really interesting place. Wonderful flavors. Everyone in our party enjoyed their choices.
Look forward to returning. Only complaint is the noise level is very high.
My husband and I went there for a last minute date night on a Saturday night and we were really happy with the whole experience! The food was fantastic, I couldn't believe how much lobster meat came in my lobster roll...and my husband loved his oysters. The only reason I am giving this 4 stars and not 5 is because the scallops entree only came with 3 and they were so delicious, my husband wished there had been more of them to enjoy! The wines we tried were all delicious and we also got the crab cake appetizer, which was one of the best I have ever had. We will definitely be back!
Let's start with the good. The restaurant itself was very nice. The Clam Chowder was a WINNER. The Basque Stew we ordered was a BIG WINNER. The bacon wrapped prawns were great. The Fish Taco entrée, we ordered as an appetizer, was the only let down. They were just unremarkable and I wouldn't recommend them based on past experiences of better tacos.
The other "disappointments" were the wine list and the fact that the web-site menu was not up to date, so was somewhat misleading.
If we lived nearby, which we don't, we would certainly go back.
It was our sons Birthday
The food and service was absolutely amazing!!!!!! We will definitely be back!!! Zero complaints!
Great menu, variety of seafood and some fusion Asian / American. Great wine and bubbles list as well.
My friends and I were on our way to a concert at The Mystic and dined beforehand at The Shuckery. We started with Happy Hour oysters, very fresh and yummy! Our meals included halibut, scallops, and fish tacos. Portions were just right, and very tasty! Our service was lovely, overall a great dinner!
The Shuckery did it again, amazing food, great service!
The Shuckery our performs each visit!
The food is really lovely at the Shuckery! We have never had a bad meal there. We went to happy hour for the first time and it was great. However, it is really really noisy -- the music is too loud and does not add anything. But even without the music it would be uncomfortable -- Pleas add some noise deadening baffles or banners from the ceiling. Also, it tends to smell like disinfectant cleaner when you first walk in. Kinda of gross given how fresh and tasty the fish is.
Had Father's Day dinner. First visit. Food was great and service exceptional and very helpful. The noise level was quite high. We sat in the center of the room and had a hard time hearing each other. I have seen reviews that claim "intimate and romantic" but I wouldn't use those words. It is a great place, just not for a "quiet" dinner. Wine list is decent and cleverly written. Beer selection is limited but creative. Cost was about $50 each with drinks (2 glasses of wine and 2 beers) and tip.
Oysters were good, but on the pricey side, po- boy sandwich/ shrimp sucked, dry, not enough sauce. My wife didn’t like her meal also, service was slow, overall not worth the 139 dollars not including tip, won’t come back.
Don’t miss the ceviche!
Great food and excellent service, we’ll be back for sure.
Food items too salty for my taste. Lobster roll over taken with too much bread.
Nice place, knowledgeable server though I was bummed I was served wine in a warm glass (seemed right out of the dishwasher or something). Food was delicious!
I love the Shuckery! Great food! Great staff! I feel
Blessed to have this restaurant in my town! The oysters are always fresh! The buffalo cauliflower is amazing! Everything is amazing!
We began with a dozen delicious fresh oysters, which started us off very well! We both loved the Seafood Stew - the broth had a wonderful smoky tone and there were plenty of shellfish swimming in it, along with some potatoes and sausage slices. The Trout Sandwich was not as impressive. The fish was so rare that it was rather cool and it just needed a bit more pzazz -- a little horseradish or something -- plus the salad with it was almost all frissee, which just isn't my fave. However, being in that bright, airy room with some some great jazz on the stereo and an attentive staff all added up to lovely evening.
Live in petaluma and have been here several times. They just have changed chefs because for the first time we were not happy with our food. The clam chowder was very thunk, no back and lacked flavor. We ate a few bites and put aside. The server noticed and asked if there was anything wrong so we mentioned. They were nice enough to remove them from our bill. My wife had the fish tacos, which she has had several times. This time they looked poorly out together and did t have their normal good flavor. My trout burger was also sub par. The only that was great were the raw oysters. By the way, they stopped selling the oyster sampler platter. We will go back but probably will only be getting oysters a glass a wine and the. Head out to another spot for dinner.
Outstanding service and delicious food. Don’t miss the cauliflower buffalo wings!
The food was good but a bit pricey. I went with my wife and the two of us happens to rack up a $93 bill. All we had were the scallops, lobster roll (with fries), calamari, clam chowder soup, and the flourless dessert cake, and one soda. I expected to pay no more than $60-$70 but I was surprised when I got the bill. The atmosphere was good and the wait staff was very friendly.
Everything was great! Really enjoyed the clam chowder and the oysters on the half shell were super fresh! We will definitely be going there again.
Service staff was very friendly. Food great. It was very noisy, though.
nice place, food was good, and service was nice, must like seafood
We had a reservation and our table was ready when we got there. It was very busy but we found the staff to be efficient and by all appearances happy to work there. The only bummer was that the restroom was accessible by a flight of four steps which is a bit of a challenge to those that are handicapped.
So Happ to have this restaurant in Petaluma, the food is exceptional quality and overall a fun place to have dinner
