We LOVE the Shuckery! The food was delicious as always...especially enjoyed the fish tacos and the clams and housemade sausage. Our server, Jenny was delightful. Can't wait until next time.

Just stopped in for small plates and beer, so didn't get to try the great-looking oyster selection or any of the specialties. Day-boat scallops were wonderful; crab cakes were pretty good, but I'm a Marylander so I'll probably never be satisfied with West Coast crab cakes. Nice beer list. The room was lively but not overly loud, service was prompt and friendly, and the kitchen staff were really working hard. We would definitely go back.

Excellent food and service. I have been meaning to go there since they opened (3 years ago now) and it did not disappoint. Fresh and creative seafood dishes and oysters. Great wine (at good prices) and got to say hello to Jazmine, one of the owners (and part of Oyster Girls). Definitely worth a visit to Petaluma for some outstanding cuisine and experience.

Great service as usual. Killer Oysters one from BC one from Seattle. Both different. Both great. My bride had crab cakes “I thought they were very good. I really did like the crab cakes.” I had the fish tacos. The insides were great, they were on a double taco. the outside one was hard. I removed it and all was well. And the chocolate cake and ice cream for dessert was dandy. We had good wine recommendations. I had a light red from the Loire that was very nice.

We were a party of four so we had a wonderful assortment of different seafood dishes to share. The seafood was amazingly fresh and perfectly prepared. The presentation was lovely and enticing. Service would rival many very fine dining restaurants. One thing to remember is to save room for dessert. We shared four different desserts that were delicious and quite inventive. Our overall experience was excellent and we will be returning.

They need a better wine list, and a couple of the appetizers are too small for the price. But the service is always fabulous and the food is good.

We shared the crab salad and the scallops. The quality of both the crab and scallops was very good. The crab salad was unusual, not bad but not great. Endive and cream cheese. The scallops were prepared nicely but the marinade taste was a bit heavy. I'd try the restaurant again but would try other dishes.

We usually sit at the bar but this time we made a reservation for a table. Good thing we did because every seat at the bar was taken by 5:15pm. We come for the Happy Hour Oysters. During tonight's visit, they were the best we have had yet. We always get the buffalo cauliflower which is always delicious.

Second time to shuckers. The food is delicious and fresh. The menu is pared down for lunch, which was a disappointment. They were out of the oysters that were on the menu, but they recommended an alternative that was nice. It wasn’t busy, but for some reason our waiter was very distracted. He was nice though. It was freezing cold in there, I am always warm, but not in there! We kept our coats on the whole meal. The NOISE was horrible! The dishwasher is practically in the dining area and the music was very loud! I probably wouldn’t go back unless I read of improvements. Thank you

I made a reservation for brunch birthday celebration based on the Sunday brunch menu on line. Unfortunately, their website was out dated, when we got there our party of 6 was informed they didn’t offer brunch any longer! ( for months!!!!)
We were all disappointed and the lunch menu was pretty boring, the food was dry, but the service was good.
I won’t be going back. Unwhelmed, and it was over priced for what they offered. I suggested they have their website updated soon. I tried to call a few times to check on menu, but never got an answer back after leaving a message.

The food here is OK, we have been twice and do not feel that the quality justifies the cost. They also have got new chairs since our first visit and the new chairs have front posts that rise above the seat level so that your thighs are pressing against these "sharp" edges in the chair, they are very uncomfortable. I am not overweight so I cant imagine any normal sized people finding the chairs acceptable

Since the first time that I came here and loved it, the place has changed. No more brunch which is what we came here for this time. We ordered 6 baked oysters which were so small that the waiter brought us 2 more. 6 oysters the size of quarters shouldn't cost $20. I may come back for the bloody marys and oyster shooters but probably not.

My husband and I started with oysters Rockefeller; then he had the crab cakes and I had the clams and mussels. Oysters were excellent, not heavy on the spinach which was to her liking. The crab cakes presented very nicely but they were a little mushy, which was odd given we're in crab season. The mussels and clams were devine. The chorizo added a very nice depth of flavor and the broth with a touch of jalapeño gave the dish an amazing flavor. Would definitely order this dish again.

The restaurant is in a great location, the Petaluma hotel, and it's modern and upbeat without being noisey. The wait staff was very professional and attentive and we appreciated that they new the menu very well. This is a new go to place for us and we'll look forward to our next visit.

Went here for New Year's Eve dinner and had a such a great time. Four of us had a drink at the bar before our reservation was available and then we sat in their small (and kind of loud) dining area. The building is old, but has been restored very nicely. The food was amazing (I got the bacon wrapped shrimp, soo good), our waitress(es) were extremely friendly and cheerful; we will definitely go back.

I would possibly recommend it for someone who is a seafood/shellfish fanatic. I can’t really vouche for the shellfish but my husband did enjoy his oysters and clam chowder. I really was not impressed by the fish tacos. The fish was very fishy and had a lot of dark yucky spots in it- not sure the type of fish it was. Also- just not very good. Even with good fish I don’t think I would have enjoyed them or the flavors. Ceasar salad was okay, but very little dressing and it was very very bland. The restaurant was adorable and the staff was wonderful! My only issue with the restaurant itself was that the bathroom is shared with Hotel Petaluma... and my husband went into the men’s and found toilets unflushed with #2 in them, and to really top it off, there was a good amount of blood dripped and smeared all over the toilet, urinal, and sink. Absolutely disgusting and just plain unsanitary. I feel sorry the restaurant has to share with the hotel.

Shuckery always comes through. A small place so it's worth waiting for a table away from the door, to avoid an arctic blast every time the door opens. A little noisy as well. But the food is always spot-on whether it's old favorites like Mussels and Manilas or seasonal treats like Dungeness crab.

The food is good but it took so long to get it that mine was cold. While the service people were attentive, the kitchen seems to have problems getting the food prepared and looked very unorganized There were only 3 other groups but it took over a half hour to get served. Saw at least one dish returned as it had the wrong sides on it. Am not sure if I will return although I like the place.

We had a superb meal at The Shukery on Friday night. I had Calamari and Fries, and both were fabulous. My husband had the oyster sampler and the bacon wrapped prawns drizzled in a honey sauce. The food was fresh, well prepared, and the service was stellar. It was a bit loud inside, but in that room, it is expected. We cannot wait to go back.

Only three tables were occupied yet it took half an hour to order. Half the extraordinarily limited menu is lobster in one form or another, yet no lobster was available. The oysters had been fried within an inch of their lives and buried in way too much breading, arriving as tiny overcooked fritters, on an otherwise soggy poor boy. The rest of the food was acceptable but only just. This little place feels spartan and uninspired, though the cheerful staff does try.

We were optimistic as we arrived seeking a Saturday lunch with oysters on the half shell. The menu did list the cost or the types of oysters available. The waitress informed us that were Hog Island (Sweetwaters) and Kumomotos. Fantastic. Good oysters at a good price. So we ordered two dozen plus a salad, bread, and drinks.

My oysters arrived along with my wife's salad after 20 -30 minutes. My wife's oyster took much longer. The bread took forever. We had to ask for bread four different times. When it finally arrived, my oysters had been sitting on the bed of ice for solo long that they were literally frozen stiff. More like oystercicles than oysters on the half shell.

Everything took so long that we decided to skip anything sweet. The check arrived but we were charged $66 for the oysters instead of the promised $35 ($1.50 each). I asked why and was told the first waitress had made an error. The woman I spoke with insisted that I pay the full price and did not apologize for their error. I held firm that was not willing to pay the higher price and finally was told that she would phone the manager. Apparently the manager agreed with me.

I don't think the wait staff at this restaurant really understand the concept of good (and prompt) service. I'm not going back for frozen oysters and poor service.

Too bad, I had high hopes.
