Food was good - but if you're having dinner, the same appetizers that are on happy hour are approx. 2X the price, fyi. And the appetizer portions (hummus and tzatziki) were sparse as well. Service is amateurish at best, and I don't need a floor show with my meal via an overly familiar waiter.
In a place where entrees are $30+ (noting that the $34 pork chop I had was very tasty), I shouldn't have to ask the busser/backwaiter to mark our table between courses, and refill our waters during the meal.
Wine list is both uncreative and pricey (which one expects from a resto attached to a hotel, but they could make a better effort here, and have some old world selections that pair with the food. Server wine knowledge was really bad.
In addition, they should have proper stemware. No burgundy or bordeaux glasses - just a big, clunky AP glass. It was explained to us that "the people from the wine crawls keep stealing them." Well, whatever --> as a diner who is paying corkage (which was not even waived when we purchased another bottle from the list), that ain't my problem, and at this price point, I would expect better.
In summation - I like the Shore Room - but will only return for happy hour.
We met some friends walking to the restaurant and asked them to join us. Shore room accommodated us and we’re wonderful!
All the food selections are large portions. We have been there at least a dozen times with gaps in between, so we are sure different cooks each time, but still nicely presented. Siera & Kaitlyn shared with us on the champagne mimosas that the best taste is the cranberry/ lemonade mix, they are NOT wrong.
The service was very good. I was very pleased with my server. My food portion was good and I was pleased with my options. But I do have some suggestions.
For the Bottomless Mimosas , please have smaller glasses and a smaller pitcher. And for the Flourless Chocolate Cake, maybe have a smaller slice.
Great food, great service and beautiful location
We were looking forward to a nice night on the town on the river. We went as a foursome, with an early dinner at 5 pm on a Saturday. We were 20 minutes early, and they said they wouldn't seat for dinner until 5. No problem. She suggested we wait in an adjoining room. There were no cocktail servers, so we got our drinks at the bar and sat down.
The bartender certainly wasn't surly, but absolutely deadpan. No pleasantries. Strictly, what's your drink, here's the bill.
They seated us at 5 pm, and we had requested outside seating, but the weather wasn't cooperative. Much too windy and warm. We asked to be seated inside. There definitely wasn't a crowd for dinner inside, and it took an inordinately long time to get seated 5-7 minutes, when we could see plenty of open tables. It could have been they didn't have enough servers, and they had to make accommodations, but unlikely.
The staff as a whole didn't seem cohesive. The service was adequate, but no enjoyment in their work. We weren't in their way, but it seemed off-putting. It's hard to put a finger on it.
The food was fine, hot and as advertised, but the menu as a whole seemed to try too hard to be exotic. Prices reflected that.
The atmosphere is just short of warehouse. It was loud without too many people in there, and as it got busier, it was almost too much. And if you have a dining room on the river with a glass wall, it would seem that someone would want to make sure the windows were clean. No one had. They were smeary and dirty.
Not interested in a return trip and would not recommend for others.
Food was fantastic. Wait staff was very friendly. Definitely will come back again.
Loved the vibe! Amazing views and service, and the food was so delicious. Totally recommended as a brunch spot along the river!
Charcuterie was dismal. Cheese selection was mediocre. Only one type of cracker and it was a plain water variety. Only two meat selections and one was almost dead/expired. Hamburger was fine. Fries were good. Drink selection was great.
The service was excellent. Morgan was attentive, but still gave me space to eat in peace.
Interesting vibe here-the restaurant is very modern, with river side seating, great food. Then there's the bocce ball crowd inside, families having fun, great place to watch a game. It's all easy to enjoy.
Not sure where the breakdown in communication was, but we specifically requested an outdoor table via opentable (they even have a button for that) but the receptionist didn't have a clue and said she was not contacted. She seated our party inside even when there were open tables on the outside deck.
We had not eaten at the Shore Room in a very long time due to COVID. The dinner menu is somewhat limited. My partner had the Halibut which he said was good but didn't care for the sauce. However, his Greek salad was quite good as was my side salad with blue cheese dressing. I had the vegetarian dish which was okay. Overloaded with sun-dried tomatoes and mushrooms but not a lot of fresh vegetables. A bit disappointing. Our server, Saeed, was very good. Overall, probably will not
return. One final note, we had requested a table by the window. There was no protective screening to block the glare of the early evening sun. An oversight on the part of hostess in asking if we would like a different table.
Second time for dinner at this nice riverside restaurant. I enjoyed my hamburger and my wife liked her pork chop for an entree. We had very good service and a nice window table. It's a relatively short menu, but the food is very good.
Deliciously constructed dishes to delight the palet! Great downtown views and river alongside. Attentive service, good dish recommendations.
The shore room was nice, good view and location. The food is quite good, though a little pricey for the portion sizes. Only complaint is that it was quite cold in the restaurant.
The food was truly excellent--superbly prepared, professionally served. The menu offerings were interesting and unusual. Our evening could not have been better.
We would appreciate more water and coffee refills. For the price and nice atmosphere we would expect a little better service. Also, an umbrella should be a given on a sunny day.
Thank you. The food and coffee are excellent as always.
Went looking for an outdoor brunch... but it rained! Service was great, restaurant was full! Prices are reasonable and the food was great! We will go again
My wife and I enjoyed our date. The waitress Samantha was very attentive and helpful. We can't wait for our next date there.
Went here to celebrate graduation. Every employee was kind and knowledgeable. It took some time to get the food but they were packed so it's understandable. Food was amazing, prices were high but not outrageous for the quality. Definitely gonna go back.
The pasta was so sub par, tasteless. Not good when I can make a far superior meal.
The grilled octopus for a starter was the best thing on the menu. Steak was ok, marginal, good mashed potatoes. Very small portions. Won't be back.
Mother’s Day breakfast, while the menu isn’t very big what we had tasted amazing. The staff were great! They went above and beyond, everyone was extremely friendly!
Food was creative and original--and delicious. The chef is a gem, you don't ordinarily find this kind of successful outside the box thinking in Reno. Service was ok, they were prompt for the most part but a little scattered.
Great food and atmosphere...Nice views of the Truckee River-
Excellent food and filling portions. Nice view of the river, but hard to see through the windows at night.
Wonderful food, good wine list. I Loved the ambiance near by the river.
Food was a disappointment for the price. Greek salad contained almost all cucumbers.
Our server was awful never coming back to fill drinks, being salt and pepper or checking on us, my chicken sandwich was burnt and dry. The fries were nothing to scream about ... the menu was lacking and the food was Tasteless. Expensive and tasted awful... the place was noisy and not fun.
The food was amazing and I will be coming back again!
Amazing eggs Benedict! The service was quick, and the food was delicious. One of my favorite spots for brunch.
Good portions for good price ! Had the corned beef hash and eggs , enough for 2 people !
After a long day of travel, we looked to the Shore for dinner. We were staying at the Renaissance, so it was quite convenient just to walk down into the restaurant. The decor is quite refreshing, especially with the river just out the window. I always like a restaurant with an open kitchen, as you know there's no funny business going on, lol.
The meal itself was fantastic. We had the lamb lollipops and the pork fried ribs for appetizers. Both of them were excellent, and the pork fried ribs was a generous serving. My girlfriend had the pork chop, another large serving that was great. I had the flat iron steak, which was properly prepared at medium rare, and delicious. We then finished off with the Snickers bread pudding, and I think that is a definite must for anybody who's going to dine here.
Overall, the Shore is a great place to have a quality dinner and might I add a great value too.
Pleasant place for a meal which was prepared well and served professionally. Pretty expensive for Reno dining, though.
Food, service and bottomless mimosas were great! Wonderful view of the river. Highly recommend for girl time or even business meetings.
Love the vibe of this place! Especially with the view of the river. Waitress was so attentive and nice.
Food was great.
Pleasant modern decore and solid wait staff. Definitely a place that will not disappoint you and your company.
Love eating by the river. I have never had a bad meal. I love bringing friends there.
The food is very tasty. The room could be cleaner. Window and skylights were very dirty. Service was okay.
