The Shore Room
Had a wonderful dinner at the Shore Room Saturday evening. Had a window table and enjoyed views of downtown Reno, the river and fire tables on the patio. Service was very quick and attentive. Ordered the pre-show menu of wine or dessert, soup or salad and entree. Greek salads were delicious. Enjoyed the salmon and flat iron steak entrees. Shared the chocolate tart dessert afterwards. My companion had enjoyed her glass of wine to start, while I sampled a negroni. Everything was very nice and the walk back to the Pioneer Theater was quite convenient.
Our meal was excellent as usual.
An enjoyable evening. We would recommend The Shore Room and look forward to dining there again.
Went with friends prior to a Pioneer Theater evening. Loved the place, have been here before and will return again soon. Prices are a bit high, but not out of reach. Food is very good, and the presentation is outstanding.
I liked the food but it was pretty pricey for what you get. I did love the Octopus appetizer!
We feel this is one of the best places in Reno and the friends who joined us for dinner acknowledged that the place was exceptional.
The food was delicious, especially the octopus!
The service was amazing and the value was perfect. We're going back soon.
Really good selection of tasty food with delicious Vegetarian options. Will definitely return!!
We really enjoy The Shore Room and the food. With company to entertain, we opted to go there and were glad we did. Our waiter was very accommodating and the only reason I gave him a less than perfect score was because we wanted more wine and he wasn’t readily available. I wish the menu was a little larger but what we selected was excellent. We will be back.
We reserved a table on the river to coincide with the time we exchanged our wedding vows 51 years ago! There were plenty of tables available on a Saturday afternoon which made us wonder about the popularity of the place. We were attracted by the Japanese pancake that was advertised on the Starter menu. It was very tasty but nothing like the pancakes we enjoyed in Japan since it had a heavy pancake batter which we were not expecting. The rest of the Brunch menu didn't really call to us so we enjoyed our beers, reminisced about our wedding day and then left. We would have enjoyed the experience a lot more if there had been a lunch or Happy Hour menu from which to select.
It is the best fine dining in Reno. Jacob is an extremely talent chef and it shows in every dish. I love how it's also open for lunch.
The deck overlooking the river is great. Service was good. The wine list is not good. For being so close to California, I would expect a better quality wine list. The food was hit and miss. The scallops and lamb appetizers were very good. My husband ordered risotto with shrimp and he liked the risotto but the shrimp were very overcooked. I had the halibut and it was also overcooked. The server did take off the cost of the added shrimp and also brought us a dessert that she did not charge us for because it was our wedding anniversary.
We went late on a Saturday night. Restaurant was not crowed at all. Only us and 1 other table. They have a full bar with a nice selection of drinks. We had cocktails, appetizers, main course and wine. Food was fantastic and decent portions. Overall very satisfied and definitely would go back.
We sat on the patio overlooking the river -- the ambiance was fabulous and the noise level was super low. Inside the lounge, a musician was performing, and we could hear this, but it was not overwhelming. The food was yummy but it wasn't the best meal I've ever had (for the price.)
The food and service was exceptional. From starter plates to entree and then amazing deserts ... top notch all the way around. Being able to watch Chef and staff cook and prepare was great fun ... they rock!
We opted to sit inside for our party of six and the restaurant was quite busy that night.
The decor and table settings are lovely however the noise level was out of control throughout so, if you are looking to share a lovely meal with great conversation... forget about the conversation part. It was a struggle to hear anything at our table and all of us were yelling throughout the entire evening to be heard. Perhaps the number of people that night and the music blaring and the general acoustics of the place all contribute to this issue. Maybe it would have been quieter to sit outside? Will definitely go back tho’ and look for a quieter place to sit. We like to go out with friends and enjoy their company, visiting and having conversation without yelling.
We tried the Shore Room for the first time on Tuesday August 20th for my sons 30th birthday.
I made a reservation stating it was a birthday and I’d like outside accommodations.
When I arrived NO ARRANGEMENTS or preparation were even made for our occasion.
The tables outside were exposed to the afternoon sun , no table had been set up anyway so we chose inside. The hostess had an extremely poor attitude which she she shared with the waitress.
So the service Sucked. The food was not worth of it’s review.
At the end of our meal my son was given a complimentary dessert brought to the table minus a candle.
To say I was disappointed in the whole experience for such a special occasion is putting it likely.
Giant failure.. thanks for not giving a crap Shore Room. 👍🏼
Great service by the staff, from valet parking to the hostess to the wait staff. Food was quite good, well prepared and attractive. A bit of a limited menu but we could easily eat there often and not worry about having the same meals twice.
What a pleasant surprise we had at the Shore Room. First, a table overlooking the Truckee River which was beautiful and then the food was absolutely delicious and served by very friendly and efficient servers. This was our first visit and we plan to return soon.
Can't beat dining by the river under the umbrellas. Food' and beverages are great, service is great, view is tremendous
I hadn’t eaten here in 40 years and what a great renovation of an old Reno classic! The view of the Truckee River is unparalleled and the food is amazing, just the right portions. Watch the chefs at work with the open kitchen design. Had the chicken confit cacciatore and it was delicious with crispy skin and moist meat. Don’t miss the butterscotch bread pudding!
Our waitress got sick but the replacement was so great. He made our dinner special and we want to come back! Service is excellent and the food is exceptional.
Some dishes a tad too salty, but otherwise fantastic all around.
Excellent service and the chef even came over to our table to see how everything was!
Food is always cooked to perfection.
Our food and server were fabulous. The outdoor ambiance was spectacular!
Food was amazing and the river is very close. Great outdoor atmosphere and there was live music!
We sat on the deck overlooking the Truckee river, the perfect setting on a warm summer evening. The dramatic but stark contemporary design of the indoor dining room appeared unwelcoming in comparison, and the cavernous space was nearly empty , all the action was at the spacious bar and the deck with its view of the rushing river.
The service was outstanding! Chris is a true professional, very personable and kniwledgable1
The menu is limited..it should be advertised as Greek. The menus on Open Table DO NOT EXIST so there are no options if you don't want Greek food
The chairs have got to be the most UNCOMFORTABLE in the world...Cheap aluminum that digs into your skin, I wanted to ask for a Hotel pillow...Its a shame because it's a lovely setting
Certainly one of the best places in Reno to have a drink and a meal
Great service, great food, great patio overlooking the Truckee river
Delicious food as always...this was my 3rd time here, and awesome view of the river!
We went to celebrate my friend’s 70th birthday. It was “no corkage fee Wednesday”. We took a very nice bottle of wine. We sat on the patio and it was a very nice day by the river. We had the Greek salad, shashito peppers and my husband had a beet salad! All very good, for our entries I had the flank steak over herb garlic mashed potatoes. It was very good. My friend had the mosaka and said it was good. My husband had the lamb burger with fries. We all enjoyed our meals.
The service was great and we had dessert and I had a coffee, all comped for my friends’s birthday! We will return!
Small plates are better than entrees. Entrees are expensive even though food is just ok. Need better food descriptions. For example, Caesar salad is a hunk of lettuce with croutons, anchovies, shaved cheese and cherry tomatoes on top. Lamb burger on pita was hard to eat. Accompanying fries were nothing special. Atmosphere was stark and not welcoming.
We sat outside overlooking the weather. Delicious appetizers and entrees. Lamb, salmon and scallops were stand outs. Lovely al fresco dining.
The menu at the restaurant did not match the menu on open table, but that was okay other that of course what we wanted on the open table version was not on actual menu. Portion size small for the price.
I ordered a drink with required an ingredient which they were out of. The waiter said nothing and brought it to me anyways, hoping I would not notice. If I am paying $15 for a drink, it should be the drink I ordered.
Date night with my wife! We both commented on the noise. However, the meal was magnificent!!! Service was great! We will be back, just not on a busy 3 day weekend. Hotel must have been filled up!!!
Service was not great. It took ten minutes for the server to come to the table and introduce himself and ask if we wanted drinks. I mad reservations at 6 for 3. Drinks took another ten minutes to arrive. He took our order. Salads arrived about ten minutes later and then we waited 25 minutes for dinner. At no time did the waiter come to apologize for the delay until I asked.
The place was busy and i am glad to see it doing well. But that is no excuse for mediocre service.
The server was not very attentive. She was very nice and good when she was around. It was a busy night and it was very loud unfortunately.
Went here for Valentine's Day dinner. Both my girlfriend and I loved it! The food was great, the ambiance was cozy, the staff were friendly and it was pretty affordable for a 3 course meal. You get to see the kitchen while you dine which was kinda cool. We're from out of town so if we ever make it back to Reno we will definitely visit here again!
