The Shore Room
Great location, nice view of the Truckee River. Great service received from Steve! Very nice brunch with friends.
Always spot on! Great place to hit before a show at the pioneer.
Great lamb shanks and also enjoyed falla with tzaziki.
Arrived at 5:30 pm on a Saturday night and were seated right away. Great view of downtown Reno and the River. Enjoyed the fire tables on the patio - a spot of warmth on a cold winter evening. Ordered the pre-theater dinners. Choice of a delicious tomato soup or a tasty Greek salad. Entrees of flat iron steak and salmon were both enjoyable. Choice of glass of wine or dessert. My companion went with the wine and I split my flourless chocolate cake with her afterwards. My Woodfords Manhattan from the bar prior to dinner was excellent. Just a few tables filled on arrival, but the restaurant soon filled up with diners enjoying themselves. Will be back!
Went there for our anniversary. Wait staff was incredible. We were served promptly and given great recommendations for our food. Some of the best service I’ve had in a longtime; both in Reno and other major cities like NYC. Food was delicious! We loved the risotto and the lamb shank. Our server was very pleasant and helpful. He treated us to a complimentary dessert and coffee after our meal. Both he and others (chef) came over and wished us a happy anniversary several times. It made the night so special and I cannot emphasize enough how well they treated us. I would highly recommend The Shore for anyone that wants to have a nice meal or celebrate a special occasion. They were phenomenal and the meal tasted perfect!
The Shore was a nice place, as it was right there on the river. With a perfect view, great service, and wonderful food, you can't go wrong eating here. Although the lights above our table constantly flickered, which was slightly irritating, but most of the time we could tune that out and focus on the main course meal. The small plates are very small, but are still quite good, much more of an appetizer, or light snack than anything. Personally recommend trying the Flat Iron Steak, as that is one of the best steaks I have ever had.
There are many fine food establishments in Reno competing for business. I think you could pass this restaurant up spending your dollars for a fine meal at another restaurant. Lobster special was a disaster even though it ended up being free.
We sat at a window table and could hear quite loudly the ladies on the next table discuss everything in their lives. The waiter for that table didn't help any with his loud service talk.
Went for New Years Eve. At $75 a person I expected a little more out of the food and service, however, the ambiance is nice and they have a great wine list.
We celebrated New Year’s Eve with dinner at The Shore Room. Great menu, great prices, fantastic service provided by Joseph.
Christmas Eve family dinner. Menu appealed to our party of six small plates and appetizers were unique and very well done. Entrees were large portions prepared to everyone’s liking. Busy night and waiter apologized for timing of entrees and didn’t charge for desserts.
The flank steak was excellent, very flavorful and prepared as requested. The Caesar salad was adequate but nothing exceptional. Service was prompt and friendly.
This is still kind of a hidden gem for Reno. The emphasis on greek cuisine is not found elsewhere and while Greek in general is not my favorite, the Greek influence in this restaurant is quite good. The noise can actually get a little high when crowded and looking at the surfaces you can see why. That could be fixed for not much cost. In any case we like this facility and food and do recommend it.
Usually the food is outstanding!
Thanksgiving meal left us wondering about what happed? The ones that ordered the Turkey meal were disappointed ..... it looked terrible. The turkey/ small portion- was ok but everything else was not ....
even the salad tasted day old and the carmelized pecans were hard..... the dessert also sub par for a special day.... left disappointed.
We will try it again since many times we have had great food and great experiences there.
This is one of favorite spots for Happy Hour and/or dinner. The food is impeccable and prices are reasonable.
This is the second time we've visited the Shore Room-- first we booked a Pip's Pass and then came for the Thanksgiving three-course. Both times we were incredibly impressed by the service. The food is great and the ambiance is hard to beat with the view of the River. Don't overlook this gem-- its not your average hotel restaurant.
Had a wonderful dinner at the Shore Room Saturday evening. Had a window table and enjoyed views of downtown Reno, the river and fire tables on the patio. Service was very quick and attentive. Ordered the pre-show menu of wine or dessert, soup or salad and entree. Greek salads were delicious. Enjoyed the salmon and flat iron steak entrees. Shared the chocolate tart dessert afterwards. My companion had enjoyed her glass of wine to start, while I sampled a negroni. Everything was very nice and the walk back to the Pioneer Theater was quite convenient.
Our meal was excellent as usual.
An enjoyable evening. We would recommend The Shore Room and look forward to dining there again.
Went with friends prior to a Pioneer Theater evening. Loved the place, have been here before and will return again soon. Prices are a bit high, but not out of reach. Food is very good, and the presentation is outstanding.
I liked the food but it was pretty pricey for what you get. I did love the Octopus appetizer!
We feel this is one of the best places in Reno and the friends who joined us for dinner acknowledged that the place was exceptional.
The food was delicious, especially the octopus!
The service was amazing and the value was perfect. We're going back soon.
Really good selection of tasty food with delicious Vegetarian options. Will definitely return!!
We really enjoy The Shore Room and the food. With company to entertain, we opted to go there and were glad we did. Our waiter was very accommodating and the only reason I gave him a less than perfect score was because we wanted more wine and he wasn’t readily available. I wish the menu was a little larger but what we selected was excellent. We will be back.
We reserved a table on the river to coincide with the time we exchanged our wedding vows 51 years ago! There were plenty of tables available on a Saturday afternoon which made us wonder about the popularity of the place. We were attracted by the Japanese pancake that was advertised on the Starter menu. It was very tasty but nothing like the pancakes we enjoyed in Japan since it had a heavy pancake batter which we were not expecting. The rest of the Brunch menu didn't really call to us so we enjoyed our beers, reminisced about our wedding day and then left. We would have enjoyed the experience a lot more if there had been a lunch or Happy Hour menu from which to select.
It is the best fine dining in Reno. Jacob is an extremely talent chef and it shows in every dish. I love how it's also open for lunch.
The deck overlooking the river is great. Service was good. The wine list is not good. For being so close to California, I would expect a better quality wine list. The food was hit and miss. The scallops and lamb appetizers were very good. My husband ordered risotto with shrimp and he liked the risotto but the shrimp were very overcooked. I had the halibut and it was also overcooked. The server did take off the cost of the added shrimp and also brought us a dessert that she did not charge us for because it was our wedding anniversary.
We went late on a Saturday night. Restaurant was not crowed at all. Only us and 1 other table. They have a full bar with a nice selection of drinks. We had cocktails, appetizers, main course and wine. Food was fantastic and decent portions. Overall very satisfied and definitely would go back.
We sat on the patio overlooking the river -- the ambiance was fabulous and the noise level was super low. Inside the lounge, a musician was performing, and we could hear this, but it was not overwhelming. The food was yummy but it wasn't the best meal I've ever had (for the price.)
The food and service was exceptional. From starter plates to entree and then amazing deserts ... top notch all the way around. Being able to watch Chef and staff cook and prepare was great fun ... they rock!
We opted to sit inside for our party of six and the restaurant was quite busy that night.
The decor and table settings are lovely however the noise level was out of control throughout so, if you are looking to share a lovely meal with great conversation... forget about the conversation part. It was a struggle to hear anything at our table and all of us were yelling throughout the entire evening to be heard. Perhaps the number of people that night and the music blaring and the general acoustics of the place all contribute to this issue. Maybe it would have been quieter to sit outside? Will definitely go back tho’ and look for a quieter place to sit. We like to go out with friends and enjoy their company, visiting and having conversation without yelling.
We tried the Shore Room for the first time on Tuesday August 20th for my sons 30th birthday.
I made a reservation stating it was a birthday and I’d like outside accommodations.
When I arrived NO ARRANGEMENTS or preparation were even made for our occasion.
The tables outside were exposed to the afternoon sun , no table had been set up anyway so we chose inside. The hostess had an extremely poor attitude which she she shared with the waitress.
So the service Sucked. The food was not worth of it’s review.
At the end of our meal my son was given a complimentary dessert brought to the table minus a candle.
To say I was disappointed in the whole experience for such a special occasion is putting it likely.
Giant failure.. thanks for not giving a crap Shore Room. 👍🏼
Great service by the staff, from valet parking to the hostess to the wait staff. Food was quite good, well prepared and attractive. A bit of a limited menu but we could easily eat there often and not worry about having the same meals twice.
What a pleasant surprise we had at the Shore Room. First, a table overlooking the Truckee River which was beautiful and then the food was absolutely delicious and served by very friendly and efficient servers. This was our first visit and we plan to return soon.
Can't beat dining by the river under the umbrellas. Food' and beverages are great, service is great, view is tremendous
I hadn’t eaten here in 40 years and what a great renovation of an old Reno classic! The view of the Truckee River is unparalleled and the food is amazing, just the right portions. Watch the chefs at work with the open kitchen design. Had the chicken confit cacciatore and it was delicious with crispy skin and moist meat. Don’t miss the butterscotch bread pudding!
Our waitress got sick but the replacement was so great. He made our dinner special and we want to come back! Service is excellent and the food is exceptional.
Some dishes a tad too salty, but otherwise fantastic all around.
Excellent service and the chef even came over to our table to see how everything was!
Food is always cooked to perfection.
Our food and server were fabulous. The outdoor ambiance was spectacular!
