Awesome food, ambiance, great server. Everything about it was terrific. Highly recommend!
Great food, good service, a nice experience from start to finish. i always make sure I leave room for the desserts.
Heather is the best server ever
The food was absolutely delicious - we all loved the deviled egg snack. Service was attentive - an amazing evening for all three of us.
Family birthday celebration.
We went for brunch, sat at the bar. Our bartenders were attentive and friendly. I had the best latte with oatmilk. The bloody marys were ok and small. We had oysters, brioche french toast and eggs Benedict, which were all very good! We'd definitely return and recommend dining here.
Thank you! Hope to see you again soon!
The Shipwright's Daughter is a spectacular, intimate and wonderful restaurant. We received impeccable and approachable service and the cuisine was incredible. The key is the chef's commitment to making each meal a bundle of pleasant surprises. You must try the homemade breads and soups as well.
Thank you so much for such kind and thoughtful words! I will happily pass them along to our whole team!
Staff not warm & personable-reoccurring issue at both tables & bar. Not as attentive as should be… Breakfast means coffee refills or a pot on your table. Needed to be flagged numerous times, same as last time there at breakfast. Otherwise experience was outstanding. Had a birthday celebration recently-noted in host’s reservation & not acknowledged.
Imaginative menu and lovely decor. The cocktails and coffees were great but the food, as it should, stole the show! Great service too.
Wonderful place! The food and staff were delightful!
Traveling from Pennsylvania for the holidays. Found this gem of a restaurant, perfect NYE. Sweetest server, great ambiance and food!
We LOVE The Shipwright’s Daughter! The food is incredible, as well and the service and decor. Everything is so thoughtfully done down to the last detail (we love the plates and glasses). The Winter Chowder was the best soup we’ve ever had, it was phenomenal. Everything we ate was delicious and beyond reproach. We can’t wait to go back again.
Very good food and drinks. Service is also great. Highly recommend.
Another great evening at ShipWright's Daughter! Love it!
The whole family LOVED our breakfast. Absolutely delicious. Highly recommend!
Great breakfast! We ordered the bowl of latte, eggs Benedict and the lox toast. Service was great and the atmosphere was also very nice.
We loved all the dishes we ordered. The oysters were fresh, small and sweet. Most delicious mushroom pasta too. We heartily recommend the restaurant to anyone interested in food.
Everything was perfect, and Tayla took very good care of us!
great food and service
The menu and wine list were not what we expected. There were minimum holiday decorations. On the bare tables there was a vase of three flowers on the table - one red, one white and one green. We usually order a bottle of Italian Pinot Grigio but there wasn’t one on the wine list. We started with oysters. The hostess or waitress then took our menus. We asked for them back and we ordered the chowder and lobster toast which tasted off to me. I told the waiter this when we asked for the bill - we had had enough. When he brought the bill he said they competed us the bread and butter which we had not ordered but they did bring it to our table. It appeared that the wait staff were in a hurry to get out of there.
Inventive and beautifully executed menu! Staff was welcoming, attentive and well informed. A delightful experience! Will highly recommend!!!
Chef David Standridge and Sommelier/Wine Director Kathleen Standridge deliver an outstanding memorable experience.... The Champagne Glow dinner showcased both their talents to deliver a festive, fabulous, delicious evening. Highly recommend!
Fabulous dinner! Highly recommend. Incredible service, exceptional & creative food, and wonderful wine pairings.
Such amazing food, ambience, and service.
Very creative dishes, great atmosphere
Wonderful! So great to have a variety of ‘different’ dishes that would be difficult to recreate at home. Duck in particular was spectacular and the desserts particularly the pavlova were out of this world. We booked on chance and it surpassed our expectations. THANK YOU we will be back!
Delicious food and great ambiance.
Loved this restaurant. The space itself is modern yet subdued - 'comfortable'.
Had a drink at bar while waiting for table, almost stayed, nice view into the kitchen and a terrific bartender....wide knowledge and nice mixing skill. Maybe not a major point for most but perhaps the most comfy barstool ever - high back, soft like velour
Table waitstaff were just as excellent. Able to explain each offering with the right amount of detail, not too little and not so much you nod like in some restaurants.
Food had a lot of imagination and skill behind, and all very, very fresh. Portions sufficient sized.
Took a 1/2 star off Food for the simple reason the food selection is very limited.
Everything we had, small plates Crudo was superb, pastas, one with mushroom and the other a Pork Ragu was executed perfectly.
But the last thing I was looking for that night was pasta. So a bit disappointed. Website menu not kept up to date - would have loved the Duck
Excellent. Great food and great service. Breakfast was also well worth it.
Drinks are delicious. Happy hour deals in restaurant and bar 4-6. Smoked swordfish dip is a winner!
Very good food and excellent service. Need to broaden menu
The food was excellent and there were some very interesting dishes, such as beef heart, which was delicious. The pigs head terrine was also incredible. The menu has something for everyone, from the unadventurous to the adventurous eater. For instance, there is a lovely burger and several pasta selections. The service was excellent, professional and helpful. The restaurant is loud and has a boisterous ambience so not a place for a quiet, romantic meal perhaps. This is the place to go for interesting cuisine and an energetic evening.
Good place, solid food and service. Priced for that, would return, but there are other similar options in Mystic.
The noise level was quite loud. Music could have been turned down.
Lee is the best!
The ambience was lovely. The wine and apps great. For $42.00, my pork chop should have been dry and over cooked.
The service was excellent. The lighting perfect.
I will go back again, but don’t understand New York pricing in a tiny CT town.
Everything was great…Service, food and drinks.
Lovely. Best duck entree ever. Had an app. A small. Deviled eggs. And split the duck entree. Wow. Different and fun wines. Expensive but lovely with experienced staff.
The food here is usually very good but we had to send our French Toast back because it wasn’t cooked. Very soggy. We noticed the table next to us also sent food back. Maybe just a bad day or lack of help like other places. Will give it another try at some point.
