Poor experience overall unfortunately. Party of 6, one gluten free, was initially told there was no options for her. We persevered with the negotiations and settled on them begrudgingly agreeing the gammon egg and mash. Soon after ordering the waitress came to the table and said the mash was pre made in the morning and unsuitable so it would be swapped for new potatoes and therefore take a while. It arrived 45 minutes later with a child sized portion, hard peas, plain boiled potatoes and no egg. Two salads ordered “warm Mediterranean” both cold and again missing both eggs and olives and had large chunks of uncooked white onion in them. Informed waitress who found some olives but told us they had run out of eggs. So 3 of the 6 meals came incomplete. Then the salmon on one of the salads was undercooked. Again showed to waitress and the only offer of any compensation or reimbursement along the way was a complimentary dessert for the uncooked salmon, which we declined as we had already been told we had to depart the table by that point. This salad cost £20!
Super disappointing and would not return. Even on discussing with staff, we weren’t offered suitable solutions and felt we were getting in the way.

Dear Karen,
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We're genuinely sorry to hear about your disappointing experience. It's clear we fell short in several areas, particularly with the gluten-free options and the quality of the meals served. This is not the standard we strive for, and we apologise for the inconvenience caused.
Your comments will be shared with our team to ensure improvements are made. We appreciate your patience and understanding.
Best regards,
The Ship

This review is NOT a reflection on the venue but the fact that OpenTable took a booking for a night when the pub wasn't serving food!!!
We've eaten here before & the food was great, however OpenTable were absolutely rubbish. We drove over 10 miles to get there just to be told the kitchen wasn't open.
